²⁵ And Jehovah came down in a cloud, and spoke to him, and took of the Spirit that was upon him, and put it upon the seventy men, the elders; and it came to pass, that when the Spirit rested on them, they prophesied, but they did not repeat [it].

⁵ And Jehovah came down in the cloud, and stood beside him there, and proclaimed the name of Jehovah.

³⁸ For the cloud of Jehovah was on the tabernacle by day, and fire was in it by night, before the eyes of all the house of Israel, throughout all their journeys.

¹⁷ And I will come down and talk with thee there; and I will take of the Spirit which is upon thee, and will put it upon them; and they shall bear the burden of the people with thee, and thou shalt not bear it alone.

⁵ And Jehovah came down in the pillar of the cloud, and stood at the entrance of the tent, and called Aaron and Miriam; and they both came forth.

⁷ He spoke unto them in the pillar of cloud: they kept his testimonies, and the statute that he gave them.

⁵ And Jeremiah commanded Baruch, saying, I am shut up, I cannot go into the house of Jehovah; but go thou in, ⁶ and read in the roll, which thou hast written from my mouth, the words of Jehovah in the ears of the people in the house of Jehovah upon the fast day; and thou shalt also read them in the ears of all Judah that come from their cities.

²⁸ And it shall come to pass afterwards [that] I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions. ²⁹ Yea, even upon the bondmen and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my Spirit.

³⁴ But as he was saying these things, there came a cloud and overshadowed them, and they feared as they entered into the cloud: ³⁵ and there was a voice out of the cloud saying, *This* is my beloved Son: hear him.

¹⁷ And it shall be in the last days, saith God, [that] I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your elders shall dream with dreams; ¹⁸ yea, even upon my bondmen and upon my bondwomen in those days will I pour out of my Spirit, and they shall prophesy.

²⁸ and one from among them, by name Agabus, rose up and signified by the Spirit that there was going to be a great famine over all the inhabited earth, which also came to pass under Claudius.

⁴ Every man praying or prophesying, having [anything] on his head, puts his head to shame. ⁵ But every woman praying or prophesying with her head uncovered puts her own head to shame; for it is one and the same as a shaved [woman].

¹ Follow after love, and be emulous of spiritual [manifestations], but rather that ye may prophesy. ² For he that speaks with a tongue does not speak to men but to God: for no one hears; but in spirit he speaks mysteries. ³ But he that prophesies speaks to men [in] edification, and encouragement, and consolation.

³² And spirits of prophets are subject to prophets.

¹⁷ Every good gift and every perfect gift comes down from above, from the Father of lights, with whom is no variation nor shadow of turning.

²¹ for prophecy was not ever uttered by [the] will of man, but holy men of God spake under the power of [the] Holy Spirit.
