³⁰ And lo, two men talked with him, who were Moses and Elias,

³ and lo, Moses and Elias appeared to them talking with him. ⁴ And Peter answering said to Jesus, Lord, it is good we should be here. If thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles: for thee one, and for Moses one, and one for Elias.

⁴ And there appeared to them Elias with Moses, and they were talking with Jesus. ⁵ And Peter answering says to Jesus, Rabbi, it is good that we should be here; and let us make three tabernacles, for thee one, and for Moses one, and for Elias one. ⁶ For he knew not what he should say, for they were filled with fear.

¹⁷ And *he* shall go before him in [the] spirit and power of Elias, to turn hearts of fathers to children, and disobedient ones to [the] thoughts of just [men], to make ready for [the] Lord a prepared people.

¹⁹ But they answering said, John the baptist; but others, Elias; and others, that one of the old prophets has risen again.

²⁷ And having begun from Moses and from all the prophets, he interpreted to them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.

⁴⁴ And he said to them, These [are] the words which I spoke to you while I was yet with you, that all that is written concerning me in the law of Moses and prophets and psalms must be fulfilled.

¹⁷ For the law was given by Moses: grace and truth subsists through Jesus Christ.

²¹ But now without law righteousness of God is manifested, borne witness to by the law and the prophets; ²² righteousness of God by faith of Jesus Christ towards all, and upon all those who believe: for there is no difference; ²³ for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

⁷ (But if the ministry of death, in letters, graven in stones, began with glory, so that the children of Israel could not fix their eyes on the face of Moses, on account of the glory of his face, [a glory] which is annulled; ⁸ how shall not rather the ministry of the Spirit subsist in glory? ⁹ For if the ministry of condemnation [be] glory, much rather the ministry of righteousness abounds in glory. ¹⁰ For also that [which was] glorified is not glorified in this respect, on account of the surpassing glory. ¹¹ For if that annulled [was introduced] with glory, much rather that which abides [subsists] in glory.

³ For *he* has been counted worthy of greater glory than Moses, by how much he that has built it has more honour than the house. ⁴ For every house is built by some one; but he who has built all things [is] God. ⁵ And Moses indeed [was] faithful in all his house, as a ministering servant, for a testimony of the things to be spoken after; ⁶ but Christ, as Son over his house, whose house are *we*, if indeed we hold fast the boldness and the boast of hope firm to the end.

¹⁷ Elias was a man of like passions to us, and he prayed with prayer that it should not rain; and it did not rain upon the earth three years and six months; ¹⁸ and again he prayed, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth caused its fruit to spring forth.
