³² and I, if I be lifted up out of the earth, will draw all to me.

²² And if a man have committed a sin worthy of death, and he be put to death, and thou have hanged him on a tree, ²³ his body shall not remain all night upon the tree, but thou shalt in any wise bury him that day (for he that is hanged is a curse of God); and thou shalt not defile thy land, which Jehovah thy God giveth thee for an inheritance.

⁹ And Absalom found himself in the presence of David`s servants. And Absalom was riding upon a mule, and the mule went under the thick boughs of the great terebinth, and his head caught in the terebinth, and he was taken up between the heaven and the earth; and the mule that was under him went away.

¹⁶ For dogs have encompassed me; an assembly of evil-doers have surrounded me: they pierced my hands and my feet. ¹⁷ I may count all my bones. They look, they stare upon me; ¹⁸ They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture.

⁷ He came for witness, that he might witness concerning the light, that all might believe through him.

¹⁴ And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, thus must the Son of man be lifted up,

⁴⁴ No one can come to me except the Father who has sent me draw him, and I will raise him up in the last day.

²⁸ Jesus therefore said to them, When ye shall have lifted up the Son of man, then ye shall know that I am [he], and [that] I do nothing of myself, but as the Father has taught me I speak these things.

³⁴ The crowd answered him, We have heard out of the law that the Christ abides for ever; and how sayest thou that the Son of man must be lifted up? Who *is* this, the Son of man?

¹⁷ And he went out, bearing his cross, to the place called [place] of a skull, which is called in Hebrew, Golgotha;

¹⁷ For if by the offence of the one death reigned by the one, much rather shall those who receive the abundance of grace, and of the free gift of righteousness, reign in life by the one Jesus Christ:) ¹⁸ so then as [it was] by one offence towards all men to condemnation, so by one righteousness towards all men for justification of life. ¹⁹ For as indeed by the disobedience of the one man the many have been constituted sinners, so also by the obedience of the one the many will be constituted righteous.

¹³ Christ has redeemed us out of the curse of the law, having become a curse for us, (for it is written, Cursed [is] every one hanged upon a tree,)

⁶ who gave himself a ransom for all, the testimony [to be rendered] in its own times;

⁹ but we see Jesus, who [was] made some little inferior to angels on account of the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; so that by the grace of God he should taste death for every thing.

²⁴ who himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, in order that, being dead to sins, we may live to righteousness: by whose stripes ye have been healed.

¹⁸ for Christ indeed has once suffered for sins, [the] just for [the] unjust, that he might bring us to God; being put to death in flesh, but made alive in [the] Spirit,

² and *he* is the propitiation for our sins; but not for ours alone, but also for the whole world.

⁹ And they sing a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open its seals; because thou hast been slain, and hast redeemed to God, by thy blood, out of every tribe, and tongue, and people, and nation,
