¹⁵ Whom, though I were righteous, [yet] would I not answer; I would make supplication to my judge.

³⁸ what prayer, what supplication soever be made by any man, of all thy people Israel, when they shall know every man the plague of his own heart, and shall spread forth his hands toward this house; ³⁹ then hear thou in the heavens, the settled place of thy dwelling, and forgive, and do, and render unto every man according to all his ways, whose heart thou knowest (for thou, thou only, knowest the hearts of all the children of men),

¹³ and prayed to him. And he was intreated of him and heard his supplication, and brought him again to Jerusalem into his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that Jehovah, he was God.

⁸ But as for me I will seek unto ?God, and unto God commit my cause;

⁵ If thou seek earnestly unto ?God, and make thy supplication to the Almighty,

² I will say unto +God, Do not condemn me; shew me wherefore thou strivest with me.

¹⁵ If I were wicked, woe unto me! and righteous, I will not lift up my head, being [so] full of shame, and beholding mine affliction; --

²⁷ Thou shalt make thy prayer unto him, and he will hear thee, and thou shalt pay thy vows;

⁷ There would an upright man reason with him; and I should be delivered for ever from my judge.

³¹ For hath he said unto ?God, I bear [chastisement], I will not offend; ³² What I see not, teach thou me; if I have done wrong, I will do so no more?

⁹ They shall come with weeping, and with supplications will I lead them; I will cause them to walk by water-brooks, in a straight way, wherein they shall not stumble; for I will be a father to Israel, and Ephraim is my firstborn.

³ And I set my face unto the Lord God, to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes;

¹⁸ Incline thine ear, O my God, and hear; open thine eyes and behold our desolations, and the city that is called by thy name: for we do not present our supplications before thee because of our righteousnesses, but because of thy manifold mercies.

⁴ For I am conscious of nothing in myself; but I am not justified by this: but he that examines me is the Lord.

²³ who, [when] reviled, reviled not again; [when] suffering, threatened not; but gave [himself] over into the hands of him who judges righteously;
