²² But his flesh hath pain for himself alone, and his soul mourneth for himself.

²⁰ My bones cleave to my skin and to my flesh, and I am escaped with the skin of my teeth.

²² Why do ye persecute me as ?God, and are not satisfied with my flesh?

²⁶ And [if] after my skin this shall be destroyed, yet from out of my flesh shall I see +God;

¹⁹ He is chastened also with pain upon his bed, and with constant strife in his bones; ²⁰ And his life abhorreth bread, and his soul dainty food; ²¹ His flesh is consumed away from view, and his bones that were not seen stick out;

³² The wicked is driven away by his evil-doing; but the righteous trusteth, [even] in his death.

²³ And in hades lifting up his eyes, being in torments, he sees Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. ²⁴ And he crying out said, Father Abraham, have compassion on me, and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, for I am suffering in this flame.
