⁶ All we like sheep have gone astray, we have turned every one to his own way; and Jehovah hath laid upon him the iniquity of us all.

⁴ They that hate me without a cause are more than the hairs of my head; they that would destroy me, being mine enemies wrongfully, are mighty: then I restored that which I took not away.

¹⁷⁶ I have gone astray like a lost sheep: seek thy servant; for I have not forgotten thy commandments.

¹⁰ Yet it pleased Jehovah to bruise him; he hath subjected [him] to suffering. When thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see a seed, he shall prolong [his] days, and the pleasure of Jehovah shall prosper in his hand.

⁷ Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; and let him return unto Jehovah, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

¹¹ and the dogs are greedy, they know not to be satisfied, and these are shepherds that know not how to discern: they all turn to their own way, every one for his gain, even to the last of them:

¹⁸ When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt certainly die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, that he may live: the same wicked [man] shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thy hand.

¹² What think ye? If a certain man should have a hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, does he not, leaving the ninety and nine on the mountains, go and seek the one that has gone astray? ¹³ And if it should come to pass that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoices more because of it than because of the ninety and nine not gone astray. ¹⁴ So it is not the will of your Father who is in [the] heavens that one of these little ones should perish.

³ And he spoke to them this parable, saying, ⁴ What man of you having a hundred sheep, and having lost one of them, does not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness and go after that which is lost, until he find it? ⁵ and having found it, he lays it upon his own shoulders, rejoicing; ⁶ and being come to the house, calls together the friends and the neighbours, saying to them, Rejoice with me, for I have found my lost sheep. ⁷ I say unto you, that thus there shall be joy in heaven for one repenting sinner, [more] than for ninety and nine righteous who have no need of repentance.

¹⁰ according as it is written, There is not a righteous [man], not even one; ¹¹ there is not the [man] that understands, there is not one that seeks after God. ¹² All have gone out of the way, they have together become unprofitable; there is not one that practises goodness, there is not so much as one: ¹³ their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; asps` poison [is] under their lips: ¹⁴ whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness; ¹⁵ swift their feet to shed blood; ¹⁶ ruin and misery [are] in their ways, ¹⁷ and way of peace they have not known: ¹⁸ there is no fear of God before their eyes. ¹⁹ Now we know that whatever the things the law says, it speaks to those under the law, that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world be under judgment to God.

²⁵ who has been delivered for our offences and has been raised for our justification, it will be reckoned.

²⁰ let him know that he that brings back a sinner from [the] error of his way shall save a soul from death and shall cover a multitude of sins.

²⁵ For ye were going astray as sheep, but have now returned to the shepherd and overseer of your souls.

¹⁸ for Christ indeed has once suffered for sins, [the] just for [the] unjust, that he might bring us to God; being put to death in flesh, but made alive in [the] Spirit,
