²⁰ For he will not much remember the days of his life, because God answereth [him] with the joy of his heart.

⁸ Jehovah will command blessing on thee in thy granaries, and in all the business of thy hand; and he will bless thee in the land which Jehovah thy God giveth thee. ⁹ Jehovah will establish thee unto himself a holy people as he hath sworn unto thee, if thou keep the commandments of Jehovah thy God, and walk in his ways. ¹⁰ And all peoples of the earth shall see that thou art called by the name of Jehovah, and they shall be afraid of thee. ¹¹ And Jehovah will give thee abundance of good, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, in the land that Jehovah swore unto thy fathers to give thee. ¹² Jehovah will open to thee his good treasure, the heavens, to give rain unto thy land in its season, and to bless all the work of thy hand; and thou shalt lend unto many nations, but thou shalt not borrow.

⁴⁷ Because thou servedst not Jehovah thy God with joyfulness, and with gladness of heart, for the abundance of everything,

⁶ Many say, Who shall cause us to see good? Lift up upon us the light of thy countenance, O Jehovah. ⁷ Thou hast put joy in my heart, more than in the time that their corn and their new wine was in abundance.

¹⁶ The little that the righteous hath is better than the abundance of many wicked;

⁵ Thou meetest him that rejoiceth to do righteousness, those that remember thee in thy ways: (behold, thou wast wroth, and we have sinned:) in those is perpetuity, and we shall be saved.

¹³ Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, my servants shall eat, and *ye* shall be hungry; behold, my servants shall drink, and *ye* shall be thirsty; behold, my servants shall rejoice, and *ye* shall be ashamed; ¹⁴ behold, my servants shall sing aloud for gladness of heart, and *ye* shall cry out for sorrow of heart, and shall howl for vexation of spirit.

²¹ And they shall build houses, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit thereof: ²² they shall not build, and another inhabit; they shall not plant, and another eat: for as the days of a tree shall be the days of my people, and mine elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands. ²³ They shall not labour in vain, nor bring forth for terror; for they are the seed of the blessed of Jehovah, and their offspring with them. ²⁴ And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; while they are yet speaking, I will hear.

¹ Therefore having been justified on the principle of faith, we have peace towards God through our Lord Jesus Christ;

⁵ and hope does not make ashamed, because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by [the] Holy Spirit which has been given to us: ⁶ for we being still without strength, in [the] due time Christ has died for [the] ungodly. ⁷ For scarcely for [the] just [man] will one die, for perhaps for [the] good [man] some one might also dare to die; ⁸ but God commends *his* love to us, in that, we being still sinners, Christ has died for us. ⁹ Much rather therefore, having been now justified in [the power of] his blood, we shall be saved by him from wrath. ¹⁰ For if, being enemies, we have been reconciled to God through the death of his Son, much rather, having been reconciled, we shall be saved in [the power of] his life. ¹¹ And not only [that], but [we are] making our boast in God, through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom now we have received the reconciliation.
