¹⁷ These great beasts, which are four, are four kings, [that] shall arise out of the earth.

¹⁴ From men [who are] thy hand, O Jehovah, from men of this age: their portion is in [this] life, and their belly thou fillest with thy hid [treasure]; they have their fill of sons, and leave the rest of their [substance] to their children.

³⁷ Thou, O king, art a king of kings, unto whom the God of the heavens hath given the kingdom, the power, and the strength, and the glory; ³⁸ and wheresoever the children of men, the beasts of the field, and the fowl of the heavens dwell, he hath given them into thy hand, and hath made thee ruler over them all: thou art this head of gold. ³⁹ And after thee shall arise another kingdom inferior to thee; then another third kingdom of brass, which shall bear rule over all the earth. ⁴⁰ And the fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron: forasmuch as iron breaketh in pieces and subdueth everything, and as iron that breaketh all these, so shall it break in pieces and bruise.

³ And four great beasts came up from the sea, different one from another. ⁴ The first was like a lion, and had eagle`s wings: I beheld till its wings were plucked; and it was lifted up from the earth, and made to stand upon two feet as a man, and a man`s heart was given to it.

¹⁹ And he said, Behold, I will make thee know what shall be at the end of the indignation: for at the set time the end shall be. ²⁰ The ram that thou sawest having the two horns: they are the kings of Media and Persia. ²¹ And the rough goat is the king of Greece; and the great horn that was between his eyes is the first king. ²² Now that being broken, whereas four stood up in its stead, four kingdoms shall stand up out of the nation, but not with his power.

³⁶ Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world; if my kingdom were of this world, my servants had fought that I might not be delivered up to the Jews; but now my kingdom is not from hence.

¹ And I stood upon the sand of the sea; and I saw a beast rising out of the sea, having ten horns and seven heads, and upon its horns ten diadems, and upon its heads names of blasphemy.
