² he said to them, Did ye receive [the] Holy Spirit when ye had believed? And they [said] to him, We did not even hear if [the] Holy Spirit was [come].

⁷ Now Samuel did not yet know Jehovah, neither had the word of Jehovah yet been revealed to him.

³⁹ But this he said concerning the Spirit, which they that believed on him were about to receive; for [the] Spirit was not yet, because Jesus had not yet been glorified.

¹⁷ And it shall be in the last days, saith God, [that] I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your elders shall dream with dreams;

³⁸ And Peter said to them, Repent, and be baptised, each one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ, for remission of sins, and ye will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. ³⁹ For to you is the promise and to your children, and to all who [are] afar off, as many as [the] Lord our God may call.

¹⁵ who, having come down, prayed for them that they might receive [the] Holy Spirit; ¹⁶ for he was not yet fallen upon any of them, only they were baptised to the name of the Lord Jesus. ¹⁷ Then they laid their hands upon them, and they received [the] Holy Spirit.

⁴⁴ While Peter was yet speaking these words the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who were hearing the word.

¹⁵ And as I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell upon them even as upon us also at the beginning. ¹⁶ And I remembered the word of the Lord, how he said, John baptised with water, but *ye* shall be baptised with [the] Holy Spirit. ¹⁷ If then God has given them the same gift as also to us when we had believed on the Lord Jesus Christ, who indeed was *I* to be able to forbid God?

⁵ And when they heard that, they were baptised to the name of the Lord Jesus.

¹¹ For I greatly desire to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to establish you;

¹⁹ Do ye not know that your body is [the] temple of the Holy Spirit which [is] in you, which ye have of God; and ye are not your own?

¹ But concerning spiritual [manifestations], brethren, I do not wish you to be ignorant. ² Ye know that when ye were [of the] nations [ye were] led away to dumb idols, in whatever way ye might be led. ³ I give you therefore to know, that no one, speaking in [the power of the] Spirit of God, says, Curse [on] Jesus; and no one can say, Lord Jesus, unless in [the power of the] Holy Spirit. ⁴ But there are distinctions of gifts, but the same Spirit; ⁵ and there are distinctions of services, and the same Lord; ⁶ and there are distinctions of operations, but the same God who operates all things in all. ⁷ But to each the manifestation of the Spirit is given for profit. ⁸ For to one, by the Spirit, is given [the] word of wisdom; and to another [the] word of knowledge, according to the same Spirit; ⁹ and to a different one faith, in [the power of] the same Spirit; and to another gifts of healing in [the power of] the same Spirit; ¹⁰ and to another operations of miracles; and to another prophecy; and to another discerning of spirits; and to a different one kinds of tongues; and to another interpretation of tongues. ¹¹ But all these things operates the one and the same Spirit, dividing to each in particular according as he pleases.

⁵ He therefore who ministers to you the Spirit, and works miracles among you, [is it] on the principle of works of law, or of [the] report of faith?
