²⁰ For thou bringest certain strange things to our ears. We wish therefore to know what these things may mean.

¹² I have prescribed unto him the manifold things of my law: they are counted [as] a strange thing.

²³ And Jesus said to his disciples, Verily I say unto you, A rich man shall with difficulty enter into the kingdom of the heavens; ²⁴ and again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to enter a needle`s eye than a rich man into the kingdom of God. ²⁵ And when the disciples heard [it] they were exceedingly astonished, saying, Who then can be saved?

¹⁰ And they kept that saying, questioning among themselves, what rising from among [the] dead was.

²⁴ And the disciples were amazed at his words. And Jesus again answering says to them, Children, how difficult it is that those who trust in riches should enter into the kingdom of God! ²⁵ It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. ²⁶ And they were exceedingly astonished, saying to one another, And who can be saved?

⁶⁰ Many therefore of his disciples having heard [it] said, This word is hard; who can hear it?

³⁵ The Jews therefore said to one another, Where is he about to go that we shall not find him? Is he about to go to the dispersion among the Greeks, and teach the Greeks? ³⁶ What word is this which he said, Ye shall seek me and shall not find [me]; and where I am ye cannot come?

¹² And they were all amazed and in perplexity, saying one to another, What would this mean?

¹⁷ And as Peter doubted in himself what the vision which he had seen might mean, behold also the men who were sent by Cornelius, having sought out the house of Simon, stood at the gate,

¹⁸ For the word of the cross is to them that perish foolishness, but to us that are saved it is God`s power.

²³ but *we* preach Christ crucified, to Jews an offence, and to nations foolishness;

¹⁴ But [the] natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him; and he cannot know [them] because they are spiritually discerned;

¹¹ Concerning whom we have much to say, and hard to be interpreted in speaking [of it], since ye are become dull in hearing.

⁴ Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with [them] to the same sink of corruption, speaking injuriously [of you];
