¹⁴ And the worde became flesh, and dwelt amonge vs: and we sawe his glory, a glory as of the onely begotte sonne of the father, full of grace and trueth.

⁷ As for me I will preach the lawe, wherof the LORDE hath sayde vnto me: Thou art my sonne, this daye haue I begotten the.

² My tonge is ye penne of a ready wryter.

¹⁴ And therfore the LORDE shal geue you a token of himself: Beholde, a virgin shal coceaue and beare a sonne, and shal call his name Emanuel.

⁵ For the glory of the LORDE shal apeare, & all flesh shal se it, for why, ye mouth of the LORDE hath spoken it.

² He shal growe before the LORDE like as a brauch, & as a rote in a drie grounde. He shal haue nether bewty ner fauoure. When we loke vpon him, there shalbe no fayrnesse: we shal haue no lust vnto him.

¹ And therfore get the vp by tymes, for thy light cometh, & the glory of ye LORDE shal ryse vp vpo ye. ² For lo, while ye darknesse & cloude couereth the earth & the people, the LORDE shal shewe the light, & his glory shal be sene in the.

²⁰ Neuertheles whyle he thus thought, beholde, the angell of the LORDE appered vnto him in a dreame, saynge: Ioseph thou sonne of Dauid, feare not to take vnto the Mary thy wyfe. For that which is coceaued in her, is of ye holy goost. ²¹ She shall brynge forth a sonne, and thou shalt call his name Iesus. ¹ And after sixe dayes Iesus toke Peter Iames, and Ihon his brother, and brought them vp in to an hye mountayne out of the waye, ² and was transfigured before the: & his face shone as ye Sonne, and his clothes were as white as the light. ³ And beholde, there appeared vnto the Moses and Elias talkinge with him. ⁴ Then answered Peter, and sayde vnto Iesus: LORDE, here is good beynge for us. Yf thou wilt, let us make here thre tabernacles: one for the, one for Moses, and one for Elias. ⁵ Whyle he yet spake, beholde, a bright cloude ouershadowed them: and lo, there came a voyce out of the cloude, saienge: This is my deare sonne, in whom I delyte, heare him.

³¹ Beholde, thou shalt coceaue in thy wobe, & beare a sonne & shalt call his name Iesus: ³² he shalbe greate, & shalbe called ye sonne of the Hyest. And the LORDE God shal geue him ye seate of Dauid his father, ³³ & he shal be kinge ouer ye house of Iacob for euer & there shalbe no ende of his kyngdome. ³⁴ Then sayde Mary vnto the angell: How shal this be, seinge I knowe not a ma? ³⁵ The angell answered, & sayde vnto her: The holy goost shal come vpon the, & the power of the Hyest shal ouershadowe the. Therfore that Holy also which shalbe borne (of the) shalbe called the sonne of God.

⁷ And she brought forth hir first begotte sonne, & wrapped him in swadlinge clothes, and layed him in a maunger: for they had els no rowme in the ynne.

³² As for Peter and them that were with him, they were full of slepe. But whan they awoke, they saw his glory, and the two men stondynge with him.

¹⁸ He that beleueth on him, shal not be codemned. But he that beleueth not, is codemned allready: because he beleueth not on the name of the onely sonne of God.

⁵¹ I am that lyuynge bred, which came downe fro heauen: Who so eateth of this bred, shal lyue for euer. And the bred that I wil geue, is my flesh which I wil geue for ye life of the worlde.

⁴⁰ Iesus sayde vnto her: Sayde I not vnto the, that yf thou dyddest beleue, thou shuldest se the glory of God?

⁴⁰ He hath blynded their eyes, and hardened their hert, that they shulde not se with the eyes, ner vnderstonde with the hert, & shulde be conuerted, and he shulde heale them. ⁴¹ This sayde Esay, whan he sawe his glory, and spake of him.

³ off his sonne, which was begotte of ye sede of Dauid after the flesh: ⁴ and mightely declared to be the sonne of God after the sprete which sanctifieth, sence the tyme that he rose agayne from the deed, namely, Iesus Christ oure LORDE,

³ For what vnpossible was vnto ye lawe (in as moch as it was weake because of the flesh) yt perfourmed God, & sent his sonne in ye similitude of synfull flesh,

⁵ whose are also the fathers, off whom (after the flesh) commeth Christ, which is God ouer all, blessed for euer, Ame.

⁴⁷ The first man is of the earth, earthy: ye seconde ma is fro heaue, heauely.

⁴ amonge whom the God of this worlde hath blynded ye myndes of them which beleue not, that ye lighte of the Gospell of the glory of Christ ( which is the ymage of God) shulde not shyne vnto them. ⁵ For we preach not or selues, but Iesus Christ to be the LORDE, and oure selues youre seruauntes for Iesus sake. ⁶ For God that comaunded the light to shyne out of darcknesse, hath geuen a cleare shyne in oure hertes, yt by vs ye light of ye knowlege of the glory of God mighte come forth, in the face of Iesus Christ.

⁹ And he sayde vnto me: My grace is sufficiet for the. For my strength is made perfecte thorow weaknes. Very glad therfore wil I reioyse in my weaknesses, that the strength of Christ maye dwell in me.

⁴ But whan the tyme was fulfylled, God sent his sonne, borne of a woma, and put vnder the lawe,

⁸ Vnto me the leest of all sayntes is this grace geuen, that I shulde preach amonge the Heythe ye vnsearcheable riches of Christ,

¹⁸ maye be able to coprehende with all sayntes, what is the bredth, and the length, and the deepth, and the heyth: ¹⁹ and to knowe the loue of Christ, which loue yet passeth all knowlege: that ye maye be fylled with all maner of fulnesse of God.

⁶ which beyinge in the shappe of God, thought it not robbery to be equall with God, ⁷ but made him selfe of no reputacion, and toke vpon him the shappe of a seruaunt, became like another man, ⁸ and was founde in his apparell as a man: he humbled himselfe, and became obedient vnto the death, euen vnto the death of the crosse.

¹⁹ For it pleased the father, that in him shulde dwell all fulnesse,

³ in whom are hyd all the treasures of wyssdome and knowlege.

⁹ For in him dwelleth all the fulnes of the Godheade bodely,

¹⁴ Neuertheles the grace of or LORDE was more abudaunt thorow ye faith & loue which is in Christ Iesu. ¹⁵ For this is a true sayenge, and by all meanes worthy to be receaued, that Christ Iesus came in to ye worlde to saue synners, of whom I am chefe. ¹⁶ Notwithstondynge for this cause optayned I mercy, that Iesus Christ mighte pryncipally shewe in me all longe pacience, to the ensample of them which shulde beleue in him vnto eternall life.

¹⁶ and without naye, greate is that mystery of godlynes. God was shewed in the flesh: was iustified in the sprete: was sene of angels: was preached vnto the Heythen: was beleued on in the worlde: was receaued vp in glory.

³ Which (sonne) beynge the brightnes of his glory, & the very ymage of his substaunce, bearinge vp all thinges with the worde of his power, hath in his owne personne pourged oure synnes, and is set on the righte hande of the maiestie on hye:

⁵ For vnto which of the angels sayde he at eny tyme: Thou art my sonne, this daye haue I begotten the? And agayne: I will be his father, & he shalbe my sonne:

¹¹ for so moch as they all come of one, both he that sanctifieth; & they which are sanctified.For the which causes sake, he is not ashamed to call them brethren,

¹⁴ For as moch then as the children haue flesh and bloude. he also himselfe likewyse toke parte with them, yt he thorow death, mighte take awaye ye power of him, which had lordshippe ouer death, that is to saye, ye deuell: ¹⁵ & that he mighte delyuer the which thorow feare of death were all their life tyme in dauger of bodage. ¹⁶ For he in no place taketh on him the angels, but ye sede of Abraham tabeth he on him. ¹⁷ Wherfore in all thinges it became him to be made like vnto his brethren, that he mighte be mercyfull and a faithfull hye prest in thinges concernynge God, to make agrement for the synnes of ye people.

⁵ Euen so Christ glorified not himselfe to be made hye prest, but he yt sayde vnto him: Thou art my sonne, this daye haue I begotten the.

⁵ Wherfore whan he commeth in to the worlde, he sayeth: Sacrifice & offerynge thou woldest not haue, but a body hast thou ordeyned me.

⁴ Vnto whom ye are come, as to the lyuynge stone, which is disalowed of men, but chosen of God and precious. ⁵ And ye also as lyuynge stones are made a spirituall house, and an holy presthode, to offre vp spirituall sacrifices, acceptable vnto God by Iesus Christ. ⁶ Wherfore it is conteyned in the scripture: Beholde, I put in Sion an heade corner stone, electe & precious, and he that beleueth on him, shal not be cofounded. ⁷ Vnto you therfore which beleue, he is precious: but vnto them that beleue not, is ye same stone which the buylders refused, made the heade stone in the corner,

¹⁶ For we folowed not deceaueable fables, whan we declared vnto you the power and commynge of oure LORDE Iesus Christ: but with oure eyes we sawe his maiestie, ¹⁷ whan he receaued of God the father honoure & prayse, by a voyce that came vnto him from the excellent glory, after this maner: This is my deare sonne, in whom I haue delyte.

¹ That which was from ye begynnynge, which we haue herde, which we haue sene with or eyes, which we haue loked vpon, and or handes haue handled of the worde of life: ² and the life hath appeared, and we haue sene, and beare wytnes, and shewe vnto you ye life that is euerlastinge, which was with the father, and hath apeared vnto vs.

² Hereby shal ye knowe the sprete of God: Euery sprete which confesseth, that Iesus Christ is come in the flesh, is of God: ³ And euery sprete which confesseth not that Iesus Christ is come in the flesh, is not off God. And this is that sprete of Antechrist, off whom ye haue herde, how that he shal come, and euen now allready is he in the worlde.

⁹ By this appeared the loue of God to vs warde, because that God sent his onely begotten sonne in to this worlde, that we mighte lyue thorow him.

¹⁴ And we haue sene, & testifye that the father sent the sonne to be the Sauioure of the worlde.

⁷ For many disceauers are come in to the worlde, which confesse not yt Iesus Christ is come in the flesh: this is a disceauer and an Antechrist.

³ And I herde a greate voyce from the seate, sayenge: beholde, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he wil dwell with them. And they shalbe his people, and God himselfe shalbe with the, and shalbe their God.
