¹¹ Truly, I say to you, among those born of women there has not risen one greater than John the Baptist; yet he who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.

¹⁶ But blessed are your eyes for they see, and your ears for they hear. ¹⁷ For truly, I say to you, many prophets and righteous men longed to see what you see, and did not see it, and to hear what you hear, and did not hear it.

²³ Then he turned to his disciples and said privately, "Blessed are the eyes which see what you see. ²⁴ For I tell you that many prophets and kings desired to see what you see, and did not see it, and to hear what you hear, and did not hear it."

⁸ To me, though I am the very least of all the saints, this grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ, ⁹ and to make plain to everyone the administration of the mystery which for ages has been hidden in God who created all things;

²⁵ Of this church I became a minister according to the stewardship from God which was given to me for you, to make the word of God fully known, ²⁶ the mystery that has been kept hidden for ages and generations, but is now disclosed to the saints. ²⁷ To them God willed to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

³⁹ And all these, though well attested by their faith, did not receive what was promised, ⁴⁰ because God had provided something better for us, that apart from us they should not be made perfect.

¹⁰ As to this salvation, the prophets who prophesied of the grace that would come to you inquired and searched carefully, ¹¹ seeking to know what person or time the Spirit of Christ within them was indicating when he predicted the sufferings of Christ and the glories to follow. ¹² It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves, but you, in these things which now have been announced to you through those who preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaventhings into which angels long to look.
