⁶ But Peter said, "I do not have silver and gold, but I give you what I have; in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk."

⁴¹ Then they left the presence of the council, rejoicing that they had been counted worthy to suffer dishonor for the name.

²⁵ But about midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them,

² through whom we have obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in our hope of the glory of God. ³ And not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces perseverance;

³² He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all, how will he not also give us all things with him?

² that I have great sorrow and unceasing anguish in my heart.

¹² Now if their trespass means riches for the world, and if their failure means riches for the Gentiles, how much more will their fullness mean!

¹⁵ Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep.

¹³ May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.

⁵ that in every way you were enriched in him in all speech and all knowledge

²¹ So then let no one boast of men. For all things are yours, ²² whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas or the world or life or death or the present or the future; all belong to you, ²³ and you belong to Christ; and Christ belongs to God.

⁴ For I wrote you out of much affliction and anguish of heart and with many tears, not to cause you pain but to let you know the abundant love that I have for you.

⁷ But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.

¹⁵ For all this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God.

³ I do not say this to condemn you, for I have said before that you are in our hearts, to die together and to live together. ⁴ I have great confidence in you; I have great pride in you; I am filled with comfort. With all our affliction, I am overflowing with joy. ⁵ For even when we came into Macedonia, our flesh had no rest, but we were afflicted at every turnconflicts on the outside and fears within. ⁶ But God, who comforts the downcast, comforted us by the coming of Titus, ⁷ and not only by his coming but also by the comfort with which he was comforted in you, as he told us of your longing, your mourning, your zeal for me, so that I rejoiced still more. ⁸ For even if I made you sorry with my letter, I do not regret it. Though I did regret itfor I see that my letter hurt you, though only for a little while ⁹ now I rejoice, not because you were made sorry, but because your sorrow led you to repentance; for you became sorrowful as God intended, so that you suffered no loss through us. ¹⁰ For godly sorrow produces a repentance that leads to salvation and brings no regret, but worldly sorrow produces death.

⁹ For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, so that through his poverty you might become rich.

⁸ To me, though I am the very least of all the saints, this grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ,

¹⁶ that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in the inner man,

¹⁷ But even if I am being poured out as a drink offering upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, I am glad and rejoice with you all.

⁴ Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice!

²⁴ Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh I do my share for the sake of his body, which is the church, in filling up what is lacking in Christ's afflictions.

¹⁶ Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs with thankfulness in your hearts to God.

⁶ You became imitators of us and of the Lord, for you received the word in much affliction, with the joy of the Holy Spirit;

⁷ for this reason, brethren, in all our distress and affliction we were comforted about you through your faith; ⁸ for now we really live, if you stand firm in the Lord. ⁹ For what thanksgiving can we render to God for you in return for all the joy which we feel for your sake before our God, ¹⁰ as we night and day keep praying most earnestly that we may see you face to face and supply what is lacking in your faith?

¹⁶ Rejoice always,

⁸ For bodily training is of some value, but godliness is of value in all things, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.

¹⁸ Instruct them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, to be generous and ready to share,

³⁴ For you had compassion on the prisoners, and you joyfully accepted the plundering of your property, since you knew that you yourselves had a better possession and an abiding one.

² Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, ³ for you know that the testing of your faith produces endurance. ⁴ And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.

⁵ Listen, my beloved brethren: has not God chosen those who are poor in the world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which he has promised to those who love him?

⁶ In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have to suffer various trials, ⁷ so that the proof of your faith, being more precious than gold which is perishable, even though tested by fire, may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ. ⁸ Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and rejoice with an inexpressible and glorious joy,

¹³ But rejoice that you share in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may also be overjoyed when his glory is revealed.

⁹ I know your tribulation and your poverty (but you are rich) and I know the slander of those who say that they are Jews and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan.

⁷ He who overcomes will inherit all this, and I will be his God and he will be my son.
