1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the command of God our Savior and of Christ Jesus our hope,
2 to Timothy, my true child in the faith: grace, mercy and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.
3 As I urged you when I went into Macedonia, remain on at Ephesus so that you may instruct certain men not to teach strange doctrines,
4 nor to devote themselves to myths and endless genealogies. These promote controversies rather than the divine trainingwhich is by faith.
5 But the goal of our instruction is love from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith.
6 For some men have wandered away from these things and turned aside to fruitless discussion,
7 wanting to be teachers of the Law, even though they do not understand either what they are saying or the matters about which they make confident assertions.
8 But we know that the Law is good, if one uses it lawfully,
9 realizing the fact that law is not made for a righteous person, but for those who are lawless and rebellious, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers
10 and immoral men and homosexuals and kidnappers and liars and perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound doctrine,
11 according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, with which I have been entrusted.
12 I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me strength, because he considered me faithful, appointing me to his service.
13 Even though I was formerly a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent aggressor, I was shown mercy because I acted ignorantly in unbelief;
14 and the grace of our Lord was overflowing for me, with the faith and love that are found in Christ Jesus.
15 It is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinnersof whom I am the foremost.
16 But I received mercy for this reason, so that in me, as the foremost, Jesus Christ might display his perfect patience for an example to those who would believe in him for eternal life.
17 Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen.
18 I give you this command, Timothy, my son, in accordance with the prophecies once made about you, that by them you may fight the good fight,
19 holding faith and a good conscience, which some have rejected and made shipwreck of their faith.
20 Among them are Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I have handed over to Satan so that they will be taught not to blaspheme.

3 And he said, "Into what then were you baptized?" They said, "Into John's baptism."
4 Paul said, "John baptized with the baptism of repentance, telling the people to believe in the one who was coming after him, that is, in Jesus."
5 On hearing this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke with tongues and prophesied.
7 There were about twelve men in all.
8 And he entered the synagogue and for three months spoke boldly, arguing and persuading about the kingdom of God.
9 But when some were stubborn and disbelieved, speaking evil of the Way before the congregation, he withdrew from them, and took the disciples with him, reasoning daily in the hall of Tyrannus.

Romans 5:15-20
15 But the free gift is not like the trespass. For if by the one man's trespass many died, much more the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, abounded to many.
16 And the free gift is not like the effect of that one man's sin. For the judgment following one trespass brought condemnation, but the gift following many trespasses brings justification.
17 For if, by the one man's trespass, death reigned through that one man, much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man Jesus Christ.)
18 So then, as one man's trespass led to condemnation for all men, so one man's act of righteousness leads to justification and life for all men.
19 For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous.

7 but on the contrary, when they saw that I had been entrusted with the gospel to the uncircumcised, just as Peter had been entrusted with the gospel to the circumcised
Galatians 3:2
2 This is the only thing I want to find out from you: did you receive the Spirit by the works of the Law, or by hearing with faith?
Galatians 3:5
5 Does he who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you do so by works of the law, or by hearing with faith?
Galatians 3:10-14
10 For all who rely on works of the law are under a curse; for it is written, "Cursed is everyone who does not abide by all things written in the book of the law, to do them."
11 Now that no one is justified by the Law before God is evident; for, "The righteous man shall live by faith."
12 But the Law is not of faith; on the contrary, "He who does them shall live by them."
13 Christ redeemed us from the curse of the Law, having become a curse for usfor it is written, "Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree"
14 in order that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
Galatians 3:19
19 Why the Law then? It was added because of transgressions, having been ordained through angels by the agency of a mediator, until the seed would come to whom the promise had been made.
Galatians 3:21
21 Is the law then opposed to the promises of God? Certainly not! For if a law had been given which could impart life, then righteousness would indeed have come by the law.
Galatians 4:21
21 Tell me, you who want to be under law, do you not listen to the law?
Galatians 5:3-4
Galatians 5:4
4 You have been severed from Christ, you who are seeking to be justified by law; you have fallen away from grace.
Galatians 5:6
6 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision is of any avail, but faith working through love.
Galatians 5:13-14
Galatians 5:19-21
19 Now the deeds of the flesh are obvious: immorality, impurity, lewdness,
20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions,
21 envy, drunkenness, carousing, and the like. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
Galatians 5:21-21
21 envy, drunkenness, carousing, and the like. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

7 so that in the coming ages he might show the surpassing riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.

12 to equip the saints for the work of service, for the building up of the body of Christ;
13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to become mature, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.
14 As a result, we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the cunning of men, by their craftiness in deceitful scheming.
Ephesians 4:14-16
14 As a result, we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the cunning of men, by their craftiness in deceitful scheming.
15 But speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into him, who is the head, into Christ,
16 from whom the whole body, being joined and held together by what every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each part, causes the growth of the body and builds itself up in love.
Ephesians 5:3-6
3 But immorality or any impurity or greed must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints.
4 And there must be no filthiness and silly talk, or coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather let there be thanksgiving.
5 For of this you can be sure, that no immoral, impure, or covetous personsuch a man is an idolaterhas any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
6 Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.
Ephesians 6:12-18
12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.
13 Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you may be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm.
14 Stand firm therefore, having girded your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness,
15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16 in addition to all this, taking up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the spirit, which is the word of God.
18 Pray at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and petition. And with this in view, keep alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints,
Philippians 2:11
11 and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Philippians 2:19-22
19 I hope in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you soon, that I also may be cheered when I receive news of you.
20 I have no one else like him, who will be genuinely concerned for your welfare.
21 For they all seek after their own interests, not those of Christ Jesus.
22 But you know that he has proved his worth, because as a son with his father he has served with me in the work of the gospel.
Philippians 2:22
22 But you know that he has proved his worth, because as a son with his father he has served with me in the work of the gospel.

Colossians 2:6-11
6 Therefore as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so live in him,
7 rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, overflowing with thanksgiving.
8 See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to human tradition, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to Christ.
9 For in him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form,
10 and you have been made complete in him, who is the head over all rule and authority.
11 In him you were also circumcised with a circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ;

4 he is conceited and understands nothing; but he has a morbid interest in controversial questions and disputes about words, which produce envy, strife, malicious talk, evil suspicions,

1 Timothy 6:9
9 But those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a snare and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction.
10 For the love of money is a root of all sorts of evil, and some by longing for it have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.
11 But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness.
12 Fight the good fight of the faith; take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
13 I charge you in the presence of God, who gives life to all things, and of Christ Jesus, who made the good confession before Pontius Pilate,
14 to keep the commandment without stain or reproach until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ,

2 Timothy 3:2
2 For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy,
3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, haters of good,
4 treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,
