¹⁷ For it is time for judgment to begin with the household of God; and if it begins with us, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God?

⁹ and do not think to say to yourselves, 'We have Abraham as our father.' For I tell you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones. ¹⁰ Even now the ax is laid at the root of the trees, and every tree therefore that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.

²⁰ Then he began to rebuke the cities in which most of his mighty works had been done, because they did not repent. ²¹ "Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works which were done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes. ²² But I tell you, it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon on the day of judgment than for you. ²³ And you, Capernaum, will you be exalted to heaven? You shall be brought down to Hades. For if the mighty works which were done in you had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day. ²⁴ But I tell you that it shall be more tolerable on the day of judgment for the land of Sodom than for you."

¹² I tell you, it will be more tolerable on that day for Sodom than for that town. ¹³ "Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works which were done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes. ¹⁴ But it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the judgment than for you.

⁴⁷ And that servant who knew his master's will, and did not ready himself or do according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. ⁴⁸ But he who did not know, and committed things deserving of stripes, shall be beaten with few. From everyone who has been given much, much will be required; and to whom they entrusted much, of him they will ask the more.

³¹ Two others, criminals, were also led with him to be put to death.

⁹ There will be tribulation and distress for every human being who does evil, the Jew first and also the Greek,

¹ You foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was publicly portrayed as crucified?

⁷ You were running well; who hindered you from obeying the truth?

⁸ inflicting vengeance on those who do not know God and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus.

² For if the message spoken by angels was valid, and every transgression and disobedience received a just punishment,

⁴ while God also bore witness, by signs and wonders and various miracles, and by gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to his own will.

⁹ and, once made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him,

⁸ By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to a place which he was to receive as an inheritance; and he went out, not knowing where he was going.

²⁴ and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks better than the blood of Abel. ²⁵ See to it that you do not refuse him who is speaking. For if they did not escape when they refused him who warned them on earth, how much less shall we escape, if we turn away from him who warns us from heaven?

⁸ and, "A stone that causes men to stumble and a rock that makes them fall;" they stumble because they disobey the wordas they were desstined to do.
