³ Blessed be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has caused us to be born again into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

¹³ who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.

³ Jesus answered him, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." ⁴ Nicodemus said to him, "How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother's womb and be born?" ⁵ Jesus answered, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. ⁶ That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. ⁷ Do not marvel that I said to you, 'You must be born again.' ⁸ The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit."

²⁵ who was delivered to death for our sins and was raised for our justification.

⁴ and perseverance, character; and character, hope. ⁵ And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.

¹⁰ For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son, much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved by his life.

¹⁵ But the free gift is not like the trespass. For if by the one man's trespass many died, much more the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, abounded to many. ¹⁶ And the free gift is not like the effect of that one man's sin. For the judgment following one trespass brought condemnation, but the gift following many trespasses brings justification. ¹⁷ For if, by the one man's trespass, death reigned through that one man, much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man Jesus Christ.) ¹⁸ So then, as one man's trespass led to condemnation for all men, so one man's act of righteousness leads to justification and life for all men. ¹⁹ For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous. ²⁰ Law came in, that the trespass might increase. But where sin increased, grace abounded all the more, ²¹ so that, as sin reigned in death, grace also might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

¹¹ If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will give life to your mortal bodies also through his Spirit who dwells in you.

²⁴ For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees?

¹² Rejoice in your hope, be patient in tribulation, be faithful in prayer.

¹³ May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.

¹³ So now faith, hope, love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

²⁰ But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep.

³ Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort,

³ Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,

⁷ In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace

¹⁷ that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him.

⁴ But God, who is rich in mercy, because of his great love with which he loved us,

⁶ and raised us up with him, and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, ⁷ so that in the coming ages he might show the surpassing riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. ⁸ For by grace you have been saved through faith; and this is not of yourselves, it is the gift of God ⁹ not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. ¹⁰ For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we would walk in them.

²⁰ Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us,

²³ if indeed you continue in the faith firmly established and steadfast, and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel that you have heard, which has been proclaimed to every creature under heaven, and of which I, Paul, have become a minister.

²⁷ To them God willed to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

³ remembering before our God and Father your work of faith and labor of love and steadfastness of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.

¹³ But we do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, about those who are asleep, so that you will not grieve as do the rest who have no hope.

¹⁴ and the grace of our Lord was overflowing for me, with the faith and love that are found in Christ Jesus.

¹³ looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus,

⁴ But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, ⁵ he saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but because of his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal in the Holy Spirit, ⁶ whom he poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior,

⁶ but Christ is faithful as a son over God's house. And we are his house, if we hold fast to our confidence and the hope of which we boast.

¹⁸ so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have taken refuge would have strong encouragement to take hold of the hope set before us. ¹⁹ We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters into the inner sanctuary behind the curtain,

¹⁸ Of his own will he brought us forth by the word of truth, that we should be a kind of first fruits of his creatures.

²³ For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God.

² Like newborn babes, long for the pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation,

²¹ And corresponding to that, baptism now saves younot the removal of dirt from the flesh, but an appeal to God for a good consciencethrough the resurrection of Jesus Christ,

²⁹ If you know that he is righteous, you know that everyone who does right is born of him.

³ And everyone who has this hope in him purifies himself, just as he is pure.

⁹ No one who is of God practices sin, for God's seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.

⁷ Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.

¹ Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves the parent loves the child.

⁴ For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the worldour faith.

¹⁸ We know that anyone born of God does not sin; but he who was born of God keeps him, and the evil one does not touch him.
