⁴ Therefore concerning the eating of food sacrificed to idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is no God but one.

¹ Now concerning food sacrificed to idols: we know that we all possess knowledge. Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up.

⁶ yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom are all things and for whom we exist; and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and through whom we exist. ⁷ However, not all possess this knowledge. But some, being accustomed to idols, eat food as really sacrificed to an idol; and their conscience, being weak, is defiled.

¹⁰ For if a man sees you, who have knowledge, at table in an idol's temple, will not his conscience, if he is weak, be encouraged to eat food sacrificed to idols?

¹⁹ What do I mean then? That a thing offered to idols is anything, or that an idol is anything? ²⁰ No, but I say that the things pagans sacrifice they offer to demons and not to God. I do not want you to be partners with demons.

⁶ one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.

¹⁷ Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen.
