Ruth 1:8 Cross References - CLV

⁸ Yet Naomi said to her two daughters-in-law, Go, turn back, each of you to her mother's house. May Yahweh deal kindly with you, just as you have dealt with the dead and with me.

¹⁵ and if wrong in your eyes to serve Yahweh--choose for you to-day whom you do serve; --whether the elohims whom your fathers served, which [are] beyond the River, or the elohims of the Amorite in whose land you are dwelling; and I and my house--we serve Yahweh.. ¹⁶ And the people answer and say, `Far be it from us to forsake Yahweh, to serve other elohims;" <sup>17</sup> for Yahweh our Elohim [is] He who is bringing us and our fathers up out of the land of Egypt, out of a house of servants, and who has done before our eyes these great signs, and does keep us in all the way in which we have gone, and among all the peoples through whose midst we passed;" <sup>18</sup> and Yahweh casts out the whole of the peoples, even the Amorite inhabiting the land, from our presence; we also do serve Yahweh, for He [is] our Elohim.. <sup>19</sup> And Joshua said unto the people, `You are not able to serve Yahweh, for an Elohim most holy He [is]; a zealous El He [is]; He does not bear with your transgression and with your sins. ²⁰ When you forsake Yahweh, and have served elohims of a stranger, then He has turned back and done evil to you, and consumed you, after that He has done good to you.. ²¹ And the people said unto Joshua, `No, but Yahweh we do serve.. <sup>22</sup> And Joshua said unto the people, `Witnesses you are against yourselves, that you have chosen for you Yahweh to serve Him (and they say, `Witnesses!'. <sup>23</sup> and, now, turn aside the elohims of the stranger which [are] in your midst, and incline your heart unto Yahweh, Elohim of Israel.. <sup>24</sup> And the people say unto Joshua, `Yahweh our Elohim we serve, and to His voice we hearken.. ²⁵ And Joshua makes a covenant with the people on that day, and lays on it a statute and an ordinance, in Shechem. ²⁶ And Joshua writes these words in the Book of the Law of Elohim, and takes a great stone, and raises it up there under the oak which [is] in the sanctuary of Yahweh. ²⁷ And Joshua said unto all the people, `Lo, this stone is against us for a witness, for it has heard all the sayings of Yahweh which He has spoken with us, and it has been against you for a witness, lest you lie against your Elohim.. ²⁸ And Joshua sends the people away, each to his inheritance.

⁵ Then Mahlon and Chilion, both of them, also died. Thus the woman remained without her two boys and without her husband.

²⁰ Naomi replied to her daughter-in-law, Blessed be he by Yahweh, Who has not forsaken His benignity toward the living and the dead. And Naomi explained to her, This man is a near relative of ours; he is one of our kinsmen redeemers.

²⁵ Now vast throngs went together with Him. And, being turned, He said to them, ²⁶ If anyone is coming to Me and is not hating his father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, and still more his soul besides, he can not be My disciple." ²⁷ And anyone who is not bearing his cross and coming after Me, can not be My disciple. " ²⁸ For which of you, wanting to build a tower, is not first seated to calculate the expense, to see if he has the wherewithal?-" ²⁹ lest at some time, he laying a foundation and not being strong enough to finish up, all those beholding should begin to scoff at him, ³⁰ saying that 'This man begins building and is not strong enough to finish up!' ³¹ Or what king, going to engage another king in battle, will not, being seated, first plan to see if he is able to meet, with ten thousand, him who is coming against him with twenty thousand? ³² Otherwise, surely, at his being still at a distance, he, dispatching an embassy, is asking the terms of peace." ³³ Thus, then, everyone of you who is not taking leave of all of his possessions, can not be My disciple."

²² Let the wives be subject to their own husbands, as to the Lord,

² Honor your father and mother' (which is the first precept with a promise), ³ that it may be becoming well with you, and you should be a long time on the earth."

¹⁸ Now I am collecting all, and am superabounding. I have been filled full, receiving from Epaphroditus the things from you, an odor fragrant, a sacrifice acceptable, well pleasing to God." ¹⁹ Now my God shall be filling your every need in accord with His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

¹⁸ Wives, be subject to your husbands, as is proper in the Lord."

²⁴ Being aware that from the Lord you will be getting the compensation of the enjoyment of an allotment: for the Lord Christ are you slaving.

¹⁶ May the Lord grant mercy to the household of Onesiphorus, for he often refreshes me and was not ashamed of my chain, ¹⁷ but, coming to be in Rome, he seeks me diligently and found me." ¹⁸ May the Lord grant to him to be finding mercy from the Lord in that day! And how much he serves in Ephesus you know quite well.
