¹⁰ Opulence is not comely for the stupid person; How much less for a servant to rule over chiefs.

¹⁵ The couriers rode forth posthaste by order of the king, and the edict was promulgated in the castle of Susa. Then the king and Haman sat down to drink, but Susa city was doleful.

⁷ Excelling eloquence does not seem comely in the decadent person; How much less indeed false eloquence in the patron.

¹ Like snow in summer and like rain in harvest, So glory is not comely for the stupid one."

²¹ Under three things the earth is disturbed, And under four it is not able to bear up:" ²² Under a servant who becomes king; And a decadent man who is surfeited with bread;

⁵ There is an evil I have seen under the sun Like an involuntary error that comes forth from before one in authority: ⁶ The frivolous man is put in many high positions, And the rich nobles sit in low ones." ⁷ I have seen servants ride on horses And chiefs walking upon the earth like servants.

⁵ And exactors oppress the people, man by man, and each man his associate. Audacious is the youth with the elder, and the slighted with the glorious."

¹¹ Woe! Early morning risers, pursuing an intoxicant! Delaying in the gloaming, wine is making them flare up." ¹² And coming are harp and zither, tambourine and flute. And wine is in their feasts. Yet at the contrivance of Yahweh they are not looking. And the doing of His hands they do not see."

¹² And my Lord, Yahweh of hosts, will call for lamentation in that day, and for wailing, and for baldness, and for girding on sackcloth;" ¹³ yet behold! Elation will they make and rejoicing, killing an ox and slaying from the flock, eating flesh and drinking wine, saying, "Eat and drink, for tomorrow we will die." ¹⁴ Yet it is revealed in my ears by Yahweh of hosts, "If a propitiatory shelter be made for this depravity of yours, still you shall die!says my Lord, Yahweh of hosts."

³ With their evil they are rejoicing the king, and with their dissimulation, the chiefs." ⁴ All of them are adulterers, as a stove consuming the fuel, because the baker is ceasing to stoke when kneading the dough, till it leavens." ⁵ On the day of our king, the chiefs start a fury; because of wine, he draws to his hand the mockers."

¹ You must not rejoice, Israel, with exultation as the peoples, for you commit prostitution departing from your Elohim. You love a fee on all the threshing sites for grain;"

³ You are those isolating the day of evil, yet you are bringing the seat of violence closer;" ⁴ those lying on couches of ivory, and who extend themselves on their divans, and are eating the butting lambs from the flock, and the calves from the midst of the stall;" ⁵ those twanging at the bidding of the zither, as David, they devise for themselves instruments of song;" ⁶ those drinking wine in sprinkling bowls, and who are anointing with the principal oils, yet are not ill over the breaking of Joseph."

¹⁹ Now a certain man was rich and he dressed in purple and cambric, daily making merry splendidly."

²³ And in the unseen, lifting up his eyes, existing in torments, he is seeing Abraham from afar, and Lazarus in his bosom."

⁹ Be wretched and mourn and lament. Let your laughter be converted into mourning, and joy into dejection."
