¹ He who loves admonition loves knowledge, Yet he who hates reproof is irrational." ² A good man shall gain hold of benevolence from Yahweh, Yet he shall condemn a scheming man." ³ A man cannot be established by wickedness, Yet the root of the righteous is immovable." ⁴ A wife of ability is her spouse's crown, Yet she who brings shame is as rottenness in his bones." ⁵ The designs of the righteous are duly just; The strategies of the wicked are deceitful. ⁶ The words of the wicked wait in ambush for blood, Yet the mouth of the upright shall rescue them." ⁷ The wicked are overturned, and they become nothing, Yet the house of the righteous shall stand." ⁸ A man is praised corresponding to his intelligence, Yet he who is depraved of heart becomes despised." ⁹ Better he who is slighted yet who has a servant Than he who glorifies himself yet lacks bread. ¹⁰ The just man knows the soul's need of even his domestic beast, Yet even the compassions of the wicked are cruel." ¹¹ He who serves his ground shall be satisfied with bread, Yet he who pursues empty dreams lacks heart wisdom." ¹² The wicked one covets the fastness of other evil men, Yet the root of the righteous is well established." ¹³ By the transgression of his lips the evil one is entrapped, Yet the righteous one shall come forth from distress." ¹⁴ From the fruit of a man's mouth he can be satisfied with good As surely as the requital of a man's hands returns to him. ¹⁵ The way of a fool seems upright in his own eyes, Yet a wise man hearkens to counsel." ¹⁶ On the very day of disgrace a fool makes his vexation known, Yet a prudent man covers up an affront." ¹⁷ He who breathes out truth shall tell what is just, Yet a false witness will speak deceit." ¹⁸ There is talk that is like stabbings of a sword, Yet the tongue of the wise is healing." ¹⁹ The lip of truth is established into the future, Yet the false tongue lasts only for a moment." ²⁰ Deceit is in the heart of those engrossed with evil, Yet rejoicing is for those who counsel peace." ²¹ Any sorrow shall not be the fate of the righteous, Yet the wicked, they are filled with peril." ²² False lips are an abhorrence to Yahweh, Yet those who hold to truth enjoy His benevolence." ²³ A prudent man covers knowledge, Yet the heart of the stupid proclaims its folly." ²⁴ The hand of the industrious shall rule, Yet an indolent man shall become tributary." ²⁵ Anxiety in a man's heart shall bow it down, Yet a good word shall make it rejoice." ²⁶ The righteous man explores more than his associate, Yet the way of the wicked shall lead them astray." ²⁷ The indolent hunter does not singe his game, Yet the wealth of an industrious man is held precious." ²⁸ In the path of righteousness is life, Yet the way of abhorrence leads to death."

⁹ You must not become like a horse, Like a mule in which there is no understanding, Whose scruff must be curbed with bit and bridle, Or it would never come near to you."

⁶ An irrational man, he does not know, And a stupid one, he cannot understand this:"

²⁷ Make me understand the way of Your precepts, And I will meditate on Your marvelous works."

⁹⁷ How I love Your law! The entire day it is my meditation. ⁹⁸ Your instruction makes me wiser than my enemies, For it is with me for the eon." ⁹⁹ I have gained insight more than all my teachers, For Your testimonies are my meditation." ¹⁰⁰ I have gained more understanding than elders, For I preserve Your precepts."

¹⁰ For wisdom shall come into your heart, And knowledge shall be pleasant to your soul." ¹¹ Foresight, it shall guard you; Comprehension, it shall preserve you,

¹² And you say, How I have hated discipline, And my heart has spurned correction!" ¹³ I have not hearkened to the voice of those directing my instruction, And to those teaching me I have not stretched out my ear;"

¹⁷ I love those who love me, And those who seek me early find me."

³² Now then, my sons, hearken to me; Happy are those who keep my ways."

⁷ He who admonishes a mocker is procuring dishonor to himself, And he who reproves a wicked man gets himself a blemish." ⁸ Do not reprove a mocker lest he should hate you; Reprove a wise man, and he shall love you."

¹⁰ Admonition is evil to one who forsakes the path; He who hates reproof, he shall die."

¹ He shall seek for a pretext who wishes to be parted from friends; Against all sagacity shall he rail.

³ The bull knows his owner, and the ass the crib of his possessors, yet Israel does not know Me, and My people do not consider Me."

¹⁰ and with every seduction of injustice among those who are perishing, because they do not receive the love of the truth for their salvation."

¹⁵ The nations are sunk in the grave they have made; Their foot is seized in the net that they have buried.

⁵ It is good when a man is gracious and obliging; He shall sustain his affairs with right judgment.

³¹ Thus they shall eat of the fruit of their way, And they shall be surfeited with the results of their counsels."

¹⁸ A heart engrossed with lawless devisings, Feet hastening to run to evil,

³⁵ For whoever finds me will find life And shall gain hold of benevolence from Yahweh.

⁸ No man has authority over the spirit to detain the spirit, And no one has authority over the day of death; There is no dismissal in war, And wickedness shall make no way of escape for its possessor."

⁵ And no longer shall the decadent be called a patron, nor to a miser shall be said, "saviour." ⁶ For the decadent is speaking decadence, and his heart is devising lawlessness, to execute pollution, and to speak, as to Yahweh, what leads astray, to empty the soul of the famished, and the drink of the thirsty he causes to be lacking." ⁷ And the miser's instruments are evil, and he plans counsels to harm the humble with false sayings, and frustrate the words of the needy, in judgment."

²⁴ for he was a good man and full of holy spirit and faith. And a considerable throng was added to the Lord.

⁷ For hardly for the sake of a just man will anyone be dying: for, for the sake of a good man, perhaps someone may even be daring to die,

³³ and blessed [is] your discretion, and blessed [are] you in that you have restrained me this day from coming in with blood, and to restrain my hand to myself.

³ I myself have seen the foolish man taking root, And I reviled his homestead suddenly. ⁴ May his sons go far from safety, And may they be crushed in the gate when there is no rescuer. ⁵ His harvest, the hungry one shall eat, And he shall take it away to secluded places; Those thirsting will gasp for their estate.

²⁹ He shall not be rich; His estate shall not rise, And his shadow shall not stretch out over the earth.

⁵ That the jubilation of the wicked is brief, And the rejoicing of the polluted lasts but a moment? ⁶ Even if his dignity ascends to the heavens, And his head touches the thick clouds, ⁷ He shall perish permanently like his own ordure; Those having seen him shall say, Where is he? ⁸ He shall fly away like a dream, and they shall not find him, For he shall be bolted away like a vision of the night. ⁹ The eye that glanced at him shall not do so anymore, Neither shall his place regard him further.

¹⁶ If he piles up silver like soil And makes ready clothing like clay, ¹⁷ He shall make it ready, yet the righteous one shall put it on, And the innocent one shall apportion the silver. ¹⁸ He builds his house like a moth's cocoon, And like a booth that a field-keeper makes.

⁵ He has neither lent his money at interest Nor taken a bribe against the innocent. He who is doing these things shall not slip for the eon.

¹ {A Song of Ascents{ Those who trust in Yahweh are like Mount Zion which is immovable; It shall dwell securely for the eon. ² As Jerusalem has mountains round about it, So Yahweh is round about His people Henceforth and unto the eon."

²⁵ Like the passing sweeping whirlwind, the wicked one is not remaining, Yet the righteous one is founded for the eon."

¹² The wicked one covets the fastness of other evil men, Yet the root of the righteous is well established."

¹⁷ Christ to dwell in your hearts through faith, that you, having been rooted and grounded in love,

⁷ having been rooted and being built up in Him, and being confirmed in the faith according as you were taught, superabounding in it with thanksgiving."

¹ A woman's wisdom builds her house, Yet the foolish one pulls it down with her hands."

³⁰ A healing heart is life to the flesh, Yet jealousy is rottenness to the bones."

¹³ A stupid son is woe to his father, And a quarrelsome wife like a persistent leaking." ¹⁴ A house and wealth are an allotment from fathers, Yet from Yahweh comes an intelligent wife."

⁹ It is better to dwell in the corner of the housetop Than share with a quarrelsome wife a house of partnership.

¹⁹ It is better to dwell in a wilderness land Than with a quarrelsome and vexatious wife.

¹⁵ A persistent leaking on a blustery day And a quarrelsome wife--it is equal; ¹⁶ He who stifles her can stifle the wind And can dictate to oil in his right hand.

¹⁰ A wife of ability, who can find? Far more than rubies is her worth." ¹¹ Her spouse's heart understanding puts trust in her, So that he lacks no proceeds." ¹² She requites him with good and not evil All the days of her life. ¹³ She seeks after wool and flax And works them according to the delight of her palms. ¹⁴ She is like the ships of a merchant; She brings her bread from afar. ¹⁵ She rises while it is still night And provides viands for her household And dole for her maidens. ¹⁶ She plans for a field and procures it; From the fruit of her palms she plants a vineyard. ¹⁷ She girds her waist with strength, And she makes her arms resolute." ¹⁸ She inspects to see that her merchandise is good; Her lamp is not quenched at night. ¹⁹ She puts forth her hands on the distaff, And her palms hold firm to the spindle." ²⁰ She spreads out her palm to the humble And puts forth her hands to the needy. ²¹ She does not fear the snow for her household, For all in her household are clothed with double garments." ²² She makes decorative covers for herself; Her clothing is cambric and purple. ²³ Her spouse is acknowledged in the gateways, When he sits with the elders of the land." ²⁴ She makes shirts and sells them, And she produces girdles for the trafficker." ²⁵ Strength and honor are her clothing, And she can make sport of the days hereafter."

¹⁶ I heard and my belly is disturbed; at the sound my lips tingled; trembling is coming into my bones, and under me I am disturbed in flesh. I will rest for the day of distress to go up to the people of my sojourning."

⁷ For a man, indeed, ought not to be covering his head, being inherently the image and glory of God. Yet the woman is the glory of the man."

¹¹ However, neither is woman apart from man, nor man apart from woman, in the Lord."

² They speak hypocrisy, each one with his associate; With a lip of slick words, with a double-minded heart they speak. ³ May Yahweh cut off all lips of slick words, The tongue speaking great things.

² For he apportions too much to himself in his own eyes To find out his depravity and to hate it. ³ The words of his mouth are lawlessness and deceit; He evades even to contemplate doing good. ⁴ He devises lawlessness on his bed; He stations himself on a pathway that is not good; He does not reject what is evil.

⁶ And if one comes to see me, he speaks hypocrisy; His heart musters lawlessness to itself; He goes forth to those outside and speaks." ⁷ Together, all who are hating me whisper against me; Against me, they are devising evil for me, saying,

¹⁵ I will meditate in Your precepts, And I will scrutinize Your paths."

²³ Search me out, O El, and know my heart; Test me, and know my disquieting thoughts."

¹ {A Davidic Psalm{ Liberate me, O Yahweh, from the evil person; From the man of violence may You preserve me;" ² Those who devise evil deeds in their heart, All day long they stir up warfare;" ³ They whet their tongue like a serpent; The venom of an asp is under their lips. {Interlude{

²³ The yearning of the righteous ends only in good, The expectation of the wicked in rage."

⁹ The schemes of folly are sin, And a mocker is an abhorrence to humanity."

⁷ Forsake shall the wicked one his way, and the lawless man his devices, and he shall return to Yahweh, and He will have compassion on him, and to our Elohim, for he will increasingly pardon your sins."

¹⁴ Wash from evil your heart, O Jerusalem, That you may be saved, Till when do you lodge in your heart Thoughts of your strength?

³ Now, hearing of it, King Herod was disturbed, and all Jerusalem with him. ⁴ And, gathering all the chief priests and scribes of the people, he ascertained from them where the Christ is born. ⁵ Now they say to him, "In Bethlehem of Judea, for thus it is written through the prophet: ⁶ 'And you, Bethlehem, land of Judah,
Are you in any respect least among the mentors of Judah?
For out of you shall come forth the Ruler
Who shall shepherd My people Israel.'" ⁷ Then Herod, covertly calling the magi, ascertains exactly from them the time of the star's appearing. ⁸ And, sending them into Bethlehem, he said, "Having gone, inquire accurately concerning the little Boy. Now if ever you may be finding Him, report to me, so that I also, coming, should be worshiping Him."

¹⁶ Then Herod, perceiving that he was scoffed at by the magi, was very furious, and, dispatching, he massacred all the boys in Bethlehem and in all its boundaries, from two years and below, according to the time which he ascertains exactly from the magi.

⁴ and they plan that they should be laying hold of Jesus by guile and should be killing Him.

⁵ So that, be not judging anything before the season, till the Lord should be coming, Who will also illuminate the hidden things of darkness and manifest the counsels of the hearts. And then applause will be coming to each one from God."

² But we spurn the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness, nor yet adulterating the word of God, but, by manifestation of the truth, commending ourselves to every man's conscience in God's sight."

¹ And Ahithophel said unto Absalom, `Let me choose, I pray you, twelve thousand men, and I arise and pursue after David to-night, ² and come upon him, and he weary and feeble-handed, and I have caused him to tremble, and all the people have fled who [are] with him, and I have smitten the king by himself, ³ and I bring back all the people unto you--as the turning back of the whole [is] the man whom you are seeking--all the people are peace. ⁴ And the thing is right in the eyes of Absalom, and in the eyes of all the elders of Israel.

⁷ Then Mordecai told him all that had happened to him, and also about the exact amount of silver that Haman had promised to weigh out for the king's depositories against the Jews, to destroy them. ⁸ He also gave him a transcript of the written text of the edict that had been issued in Susa to have them exterminated. He told him to show it to Esther and to tell her and to enjoin on her to come in to the king and supplicate to him and appeal earnestly before him on behalf of her people. ⁹ When Hathach came back and told Esther Mordecai's words, ¹⁰ then Esther replied to Hathach and gave him instructions for Mordecai: ¹¹ All the king's courtiers and the people of the king's provinces know that for any man or woman coming in to the king into the inner court who was not called, his only edict is to be put to death, aside from the one to whom the king might hold out the golden scepter, he will stay alive. As for me, I have not been called to come in to the king for these past thirty days. ¹² Hathach told Mordecai Esther's words. ¹³ Then Mordecai said to reply to Esther:Do not imagine in your own soul that in the king's house you will escape any more than all the other Jews. ¹⁴ For if you keep silence, yea silence in this crisis, sustentation and rescue shall stand up for the Jews from another place; but you and your father's house, you shall perish. And who is there knowing whether it was for a crisis like this that you have attained to the royal position?

⁴ For we have been sold, I and my people, to be exterminated, to be killed and to be destroyed. Now supposing we had been sold as male slaves and as maids, I would have kept silence, for it would not be appropriate to report such a distress, and cause trouble to the king. ⁵ Then king Xerxes inquired; he asked queen Esther:Who, then, is he? And just where is he who has filled his heart to act in this way? ⁶ Esther replied:The man, the foe and enemy, is this evil Haman. Haman was frightened before the king and the queen.

¹¹ If they say, Do walk with us, Let us wait in ambush for blood, Let us lurk gratuitously for the innocent, ¹² Like the unseen, we shall swallow them up alive, And robust like those descending to a crypt, ¹³ All precious wealth shall we find, We shall fill our houses with loot, ¹⁴ Let your lot be cast in our midst, There shall be one purse for us all, ¹⁵ My son, do not walk in the way with them; Withhold your foot from their track." ¹⁶ For their feet run to evil, And they hasten to shed blood." ¹⁷ For gratuitously is the net tossed Before the eyes of all the possessors of wings. ¹⁸ Yet they themselves wait in ambush for their own blood; They lurk for their own souls. ¹⁹ Such is the end of all who are greedy for gain; It takes away the soul of its possessors.

³ In the mouth of the foolish man is a switch for his pride, Yet the lips of the wise shall guard them."

⁷ Their feet are running to evil, and they are hastening to shed innocent blood. Their devices are devices of lawlessness. Devastation and breaking and violence are in their highways."

²⁶ For the wicked have been found among My people. It looks about the covering of snares, They have set up a trap--men they capture."

¹ Alack to me! For I become as the gatherings of the straw of the harvest, as the clean-gleanings of the vintage. There is no cluster to eat; my soul yearns for the firstfruit." ² The kindly one has perished from the earth, and there is none upright among humanity. All of them are ambushing for blood; each man is hunting his brother with a seine net."

¹² Now, day coming on, making a conspiracy, the Jews anathematize themselves, saying that they would neither eat nor drink till they should kill Paul."

¹⁵ Now then, you inform the captain together with the Sanhedrin, so that he may be leading him down to you, as being about to investigate more exactly that which concerns him; yet we, before he draws near, are ready to assassinate him."

³ requesting a favor against him, so that he should send after him to bring him into Jerusalem, making an ambush to assassinate him by the way."

¹⁶ and stedfast [is] your house and your kingdom unto the eon before you, your throne is established unto the eon..

²⁶ And Your Name is great unto the eon, saying, Yahweh of Hosts [is] Elohim over Israel, and the house of Your servant David is established before You,

⁶ In the castle of Susa the Jews killed and destroyed 500 men, ⁷ also Parshandatha, Dalphon and Aspatha, ⁸ Poratha, Adalia and Aridatha, ⁹ Parmashta, Arisai, Aridai and Vaizatha, ¹⁰ the ten sons of Haman son of Hammedatha, the foe of the Jews. They killed them, but they did not lay their hand on the plunder.

¹⁴ So the king ordered it to be done in this way; an edict was issued in Susa, and they hanged the ten sons of Haman.

³ I myself have seen the foolish man taking root, And I reviled his homestead suddenly. ⁴ May his sons go far from safety, And may they be crushed in the gate when there is no rescuer.

²⁰ Yet the eyes of the wicked shall be exhausted, And flight to safety will perish for them And their expectation become their expiring soul.

¹⁵ It shall tabernacle in his tent which no longer is his; Sulfur shall be sifted about his homestead. ¹⁶ From beneath, his roots dry up, And from above, his harvest branches are snipped off. ¹⁷ His remembrance perishes from the earth, And he has no name on the face of the open place. ¹⁸ They shall thrust him from light into darkness, And they shall chase him from the habitance. ¹⁹ For him there is no posterity and no progeny among his people, And there will be no survivor in the places of his sojourning. ²⁰ Westerners are appalled at his day of ruin, And easterners hold back in horror.

¹⁸ He builds his house like a moth's cocoon, And like a booth that a field-keeper makes. ¹⁹ He shall lie down rich, yet he may not do so again; When he uncloses his eyes it shall not be there. ²⁰ Decadent things shall overtake him by day; A whirlwind shall steal him away at night. ²¹ The east wind shall carry him off so that he is gone, And it shall toss him away in a tempest from his place. ²² One shall fling stones against him and not spare As he runs away, yea away from his hand. ²³ One shall slap his palms at him And hiss him away from his place.

²⁵ Wherefore, He recognizes their occupations And overturns them in a night, and they are crushed.

¹⁰ And still a little while, and there will be no wicked one; When you consider his place, he will not be there."

³⁵ I have seen a wicked one, a terrifier, Elevating himself like a flourishing native tree." ³⁶ Yet I passed by, and behold, he was not there, And I sought him, and he was not found." ³⁷ Observe the flawless, and see the upright, That there is a hereafter for the man of peace."

¹⁸ Surely You shall set them down in slippery places; You will cast them into ruinations. ¹⁹ How they will become a desolation, as in a moment! They will be swept up; they will be finished by decadence!"

²¹ A hand upon hand:the evil person shall not be held innocent, Yet the seed of the righteous will be left undisturbed."

¹¹ The house of the wicked, it shall be exterminated, Yet the tent of the upright, it shall burst into bud."

²⁵ Yahweh shall tear away the house of the proud, Yet He shall keep the widow's boundaries intact."

³ By wisdom a house is built, And by comprehension it is established." ⁴ By knowledge its chambers are filled With all precious and pleasant wealth.

²⁴ Everyone, then, who is hearing these sayings of Mine and is doing them shall be likened to a prudent man who builds his house on the rock." ²⁵ And the rain descended, and the rivers came, and the winds blow and they lunge at that house, and it does not fall, for it had been founded on the rock." ²⁶ And everyone who is hearing these sayings of Mine and not doing them shall be likened to a stupid man who builds his house on sand." ²⁷ And the rain descended, and the rivers came, and the winds blow and they dash against that house, and it falls: and the fall of it was great."

³⁹ And saying is Pharaoh to Joseph, "After the Elohim has made known to you all this, there is no one as understanding and wise as you.

¹³ And Samuel said unto Saul, `You have been foolish; you have not kept the command of Yahweh your Elohim, which He commanded you, for now had Yahweh established your kingdom over Israel unto the eon;"

¹⁸ And one of the servants answers and said, `Lo, I have seen a son of Jesse the Beth-Lehemite, skilful in playing, and a mighty virtuous man, and a man of battle, and intelligent in word, and a man of form, and Yahweh [is] with him..

³⁰ And the princes of the Philistines come out, and it comes to pass from the time of their coming out, David has acted more wisely than any of the servants of Saul, and his name is very precious.

¹⁷ `And, now, know and consider what you do; for evil has been determined against our lord, and against all his house, and he [is] too much a son of worthlessness to be spoken to..

¹⁸ His enemies shall I clothe with shame, Yet his insignia shall blossom upon him."

²⁶ Indeed, I myself shall ridicule you in your calamity; I shall deride when alarm comes upon you,

³⁵ The wise are allotted glory, Yet the stupid are raised up to dishonor."

²³ He himself shall die in his lack of discipline, And in his great folly he shall expire."

¹ Who is like the wise man? And who knows the interpretation of a matter? Wisdom for a man lightens up his countenance, And the harsh strength of his face is altered."

² From those sleeping in the soil of the ground many shall awake, these to eonian life and these to reproach for eonian repulsion."

⁸ Yet you withdraw from the way. You cause many to stumble at the law. You ruin the covenant of Levi, says Yahweh of hosts." ⁹ And, moreover, I make you despised and low to all the people, according as you are not keeping My ways, yet you lift up faces in the law."

⁴ saying, "I sinned in giving up innocent blood.Yet they said, "What is it to us? You should be seeing to that!" ⁵ And, tossing the silver pieces into the temple, he retires, and, coming away, strangles himself."

⁴² And the Lord said, "Who, consequently, is the faithful and prudent administrator, whom the lord will be placing over his attendance, to be giving them the measure of grain in season.? ⁴³ Happy is that slave, whom his lord, coming, will be finding doing thus." ⁴⁴ Truly, I am saying to you that over all his possessions will he be placing him."

⁸ And the lord applauds the unjust administrator, for he does prudently, for the sons of this eon are more prudent, above the sons of light in their own generation."

²³ Now instantly a messenger of the Lord smites him, because he gives not the glory to God, and, becoming the food of worms, he gives up his soul."

¹⁰ According to the grace of God which is being granted to me, as a wise foreman I lay a foundation, yet another is building on it. Yet let each one beware how he is building on it." ¹¹ For other foundation can no one lay beside that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ." ¹² Now if anyone is building on this foundation gold and silver, precious stones, wood, grass, straw, ¹³ each one's work will become apparent, for the day will make it evident, for it is being revealed by fire. And the fire, it will be testing each one's work - what kind it is." ¹⁴ If anyone's work will be remaining which he builds on it, he will get wages." ¹⁵ If anyone's work shall be burned up, he will forfeit it, yet he shall be saved, yet thus, as through fire."

¹⁸ For not he who is commending himself is qualified, but whom the Lord is commending."

⁷ There is one who feigns himself rich yet has nothing at all; Another feigns himself destitute, yet his wealth is great."

¹¹ For everyone exalting himself shall be humbled, and humbling himself shall be exalted."

¹³ And saying is he to him, "My lord knows that the children are tender, and the flock and the herd with unweaned are dependent on me, and, if I trot them one day, then die will all the small cattle. ¹⁴ Pray, pass will my lord before his servant, and I will conduct them carefully, according to the pace of the work which is before me, and to the pace of the children, till I come to my lord to Seir.

²⁶ And saying is Judah to his brothers, "What gain is it that we kill our brother and cover his blood? ²⁷ Go, and we will sell him to the Ishmaelites, and our hand must not come to be against him, for our brother and our flesh is he.And hearkening are his brothers. ²⁸ And passing are mortals, Midianites, merchants. And drawing are they and bringing up Joseph from the cistern, and are selling Joseph to the Ishmaelites for twenty silverlings. And bringing are they Joseph to Egypt.

²⁸ Then Yahweh opened the mouth of the jenny, and she said to Balaam:What have I done to you that you have smitten me these three times? ²⁹ And Balaam said to the jenny:Because you abused me! O that there were a sword in my hand, for I would kill you right now. ³⁰ The jenny said to Balaam:Am I not your jenny on which you have ridden from your youth until this day? Have I been accustomed, yea accustomed to do thus to you? And he said:No. ³¹ Yahweh exposed the eyes of Balaam so that he saw the messenger of Yahweh stationed in the road with his drawn sword in his hand. So he bowed his head and bowed himself down, with his nostrils to the ground. ³² The messenger of Yahweh said to him:On what grounds did you smite your jenny these three times? Behold, I myself came forth as your adversary, for your way in front of me is precipitant.

⁴ You shall not muzzle a bull when it threshes.

⁷ and Adoni-Bezek said, `Seventy kings--their thumbs and their great toes cut off--have been gathering under my table; as I have done so has Elohim repaid to me;' and they bring him in to Jerusalem, and he dies there.

² And Nahash the Ammonite said unto them, `For this I covenant with you, by picking out to you every right eye--and I have put it a reproach on all Israel..

¹¹ The woman is saying to Him, "Lord, you have not even a bucket, and the well is deep. Whence, then, have you living water?

³¹ The Jews, then, since it was the preparation, lest the bodies should be remaining on the cross on the sabbath (for it was the great day, that sabbath), ask Pilate that they might be fracturing their legs, and they may be taken away." ³² The soldiers, then, came and fractured indeed the legs of the first and of the other who is crucified together with Him."

¹³ For the judging is merciless to him who does not exercise mercy. Vaunting is mercy against judging. ¹⁴ What is the benefit, my brethren, if anyone should be saying he has faith, yet may have no works? That faith can not save him." ¹⁵ If a brother or sister should be belonging to the naked, and lacking nourishment for the day, ¹⁶ yet someone from among you may be saying to them, "Go away in peace, be warmed and satisfied,yet you may not be giving them the requisites for the body, what is the benefit?

¹⁷ Now whoever may be having a livelihood in this world, and may be beholding his brother having need, and should be locking his compassions from him - how is the love of God remaining in him?

¹⁹ In the sweat of your face shall you eat your bread, till your return to the ground, for from it are you taken, for soil you are, and to soil are you returning.

⁴ and they give to him seventy silverings out of the house of Baal-Berith, and Abimelech hires with them men, vain and unstable, and they go after him;"

⁴ I have not sat with men of hypocrisy, And with dissemblers I shall not enter."

² The fruit of the labor of your palms shall you surely eat; Happy are you, and it will be well for you."

¹⁰ My son, if sinners entice you, do not comply with them;"

¹⁴ In the path of the wicked, do not enter, And do not progress along the way of evil men." ¹⁵ Renounce it; do not pass within it; Swerve from it, and pass on."

³² But he who commits adultery with another's wife has lack of heart wisdom; He is causing ruin to his soul who does it.

⁷ And I saw among the simple, I detected among the sons, A youth who had lack of heart wisdom."

⁶ Forsake your simple ways and live, And progress in the way of understanding."

¹³ The woman, stupidity, is clamorous and simple, And she does not know anything at all."

¹⁶ Let whoever is simple withdraw hither, And whoever has lack of heart wisdom; And she says to him:"

²⁰ He who walks with the wise becomes wise, Yet he who associates with the stupid is imperiled."

²³ The tillage of the destitute may yield much food, Yet it is swept up when there is no judgment."

⁴ When there are no domestic animals the crib is neat, Yet much income depends on the vigor of the ox."

²³ In all grievous labor there is advantage, Yet mere speech of the lips leads only to want."

²⁷ There will be sufficient goat milk for your nourishment and for your household's nourishment, And the means of life for your maidens."

¹⁹ He who serves his ground shall be fully repaid with bread, Yet he who pursues empty dreams shall be fully repaid with destitution."

⁸ Those observing the vanities of futility are forsaking their own kindness.

²⁸ Let him who steals by no means still be stealing: yet rather let him be toiling, working with his hands at what is good, that he may have to share with one who has need."

¹¹ and that you be ambitious to be quiet, and to be engaged in your own affairs, and to be working with your hands, according as we charge you, ¹² that you may be walking respectably toward those outside and you may have need of nothing.

⁸ neither did we eat bread gratuitously from anyone, but, with toil and labor, we are working night and day, so as not to be burdensome to any of you."

¹⁰ For many are insubordinate, vain praters and imposters, especially those of the Circumcision, ¹¹ who must be gagged, who are subverting whole households, teaching what they must not, on behalf of sordid gain."

³ So he comes to be like a tree transplanted by rillets of water, That yields its fruit in its season, And its leaf does not decay; Hence all that he does shall prosper.

⁹ He waits in ambush in concealment like a lion in its covert; He waits in ambush to kidnap the humble; He kidnaps the humble by drawing him into his net.

¹⁵ The wealth of a rich man is his strong town; Their destitution is the dismay of the poor.

⁵ A master who is slick of tongue toward his associate Is one who spreads a net for his footsteps. ⁶ In the transgression of an evil man is a trap, Yet the righteous one may run and rejoice."

⁶ Those coming to take root, will be Jacob, and those blossoming and budding, will be Israel, and they fill the face of the habitance with produce."

³¹ And, in addition, the delivered of the house of Judah, the remnant finds root downward, and yields fruit upward,

²⁶ For the wicked have been found among My people. It looks about the covering of snares, They have set up a trap--men they capture." ²⁷ As a cage full of fowls, So their houses are full of deceit, Therefore they have been great, and are rich." ²⁸ They have been fat, they have shone, Yea, they have overpassed the acts of the evil, Judgment they have not judged, The judgment of the fatherless--and they prosper, And the judgment of the needy they have not judged."

⁷ Blessed [is] the man who trusts in Yahweh, And whose confidence has been Yahweh." ⁸ And has been as a tree planted by waters, And by a rivulet he sends forth his roots, And he does not see when heat comes, And his leaf has been green, And in a year of dearth he is not sorrowful, Nor does he cease from making fruit."

² The kindly one has perished from the earth, and there is none upright among humanity. All of them are ambushing for blood; each man is hunting his brother with a seine net."

¹⁵ All of them he brings up with a fishhook; he is impounding them in his seine net and is gathering them in his dragnet, therefore his heart is rejoicing and exulting." ¹⁶ Therefore he is sacrificing to his seine net and is fuming incense to his dragnet, for his portion is stout by them, and his food plump." ¹⁷ Will he therefore empty his seine net, and not spare to kill the nations continually?

¹³ Now those on the rock are those who, whenever they should be hearing, with joy are receiving the word. And these have no root, who are believing for a season and, in a season of trial, are withdrawing." ¹⁴ Now that falling among the thorns, these are those who hear and, by worries and riches, and by the gratifications of life, going on, stifle, and are bringing nothing to maturity." ¹⁵ Now that in the ideal earth, these are they who, in a heart ideal and good, hearing the word, are retaining it and are bearing fruit with endurance."

⁵ I am the Grapevine. You are the branches. He who is remaining in Me, and I in him, this one is bringing forth much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing."

¹⁶ Not you choose Me, but I choose you, and I appoint you, that you may be going away and be bringing forth much fruit, and your fruit may be remaining, that anything whichsoever you should be requesting the Father in My name, He will be giving it to you."

²² Yet, now, being freed from Sin, yet enslaved to God, you have your fruit for holiness. Now the consummation is life eonian."

¹⁶ the Messenger, my Redeemer from all evil, bless these youths. And called on them shall be my name, and the name of my forefathers, Abraham and Isaac. And prolific shall they be, to make a vast increase within the land.

⁹ And David answers Rechab and Baanah his brother, sons of Rimmon the Beerothite, and said to them, `Yahweh lives, who has redeemed my soul out of all adversity,

²³ And king Solomon swears by Yahweh, saying, `Thus does Elohim to me, and thus He does add--surely against his soul has Adonijah spoken this word;"

⁶ You shall destroy all those speaking a lie. Yahweh abhors a man of bloodshed and deceit.

¹⁹ Many are the evils on the righteous one, But Yahweh shall rescue him from them all,

⁸ And they shall stumble by it:their own tongue against them. All seeing them shall bolt away,

² If you have been trapped by words of your mouth, Have been seized by sayings of your mouth,

⁸ The righteous one is extricated from distress, And the wicked one shall come in his stead."

² The tongue of the wise uses knowledge well, Yet the mouth of the stupid utters folly."

⁶ The lips of a stupid man bring him into contention, And his mouth calls for beatings." ⁷ The mouth of a stupid man is his undoing, And his lips are a trap for his soul."

²³ He who guards his mouth and his tongue Keeps his soul from distresses.

¹⁸ It is good that you hold to this, And from that also do not let your hand rest; For he who is fearful of Elohim shall come forth from them all."

²⁴ Then the king speaks the word, and they bring hither these masters who had accused Daniel, and into the vault of the lions they heaved them, their wives, and their sons. Yet they do not reach the earth of the vault before the lions have them in their power and pulverize all their ribs."

²⁵ And, answering, the entire people said, "His blood be on us and on our children!"

³⁵ What shall be separating us from the love of God in Christ Jesus? Affliction, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? ³⁶ According as it is written that "On Thy account we are being put to death the whole day, We are reckoned as sheep for slaughter." ³⁷ Nay! in all these we are more than conquering through Him Who loves us.

⁹ the Lord is acquainted with the rescue of the devout out of trial, yet is keeping the unjust for chastening in the day of judging,

⁵ As with fatness and richness my soul shall be satisfied, And with jubilant lips my mouth shall praise."

² From the fruit of righteousness the mouth of a man shall eat good, Yet the soul of the treacherous will eat violence."

²³ Rejoicing comes to a man in the apt response of his mouth, And a word in its season, how good!"

²⁰ From the fruit of a man's mouth, his belly is satisfied; He must be satisfied with the yield from his lips." ²¹ Death and life lie in the hand of the tongue, And they who love to use it must eat its fruit."

¹⁰ Say to the righteous that good is his portion, for the fruit of their actions are they eating." ¹¹ Alack to the wicked one; evil is his portion, for the requital of his hands is returning to him."

⁴¹ He who is receiving a prophet in the name of a prophet shall be obtaining a prophet's wages. And he who is receiving a just man in the name of a just man shall be obtaining a just man's wages. ⁴² And whoever should be giving one of these little ones only a cool cup to drink, in the name of a disciple, verily, I am saying to you, by no means should he be losing his wages."

²⁷ Verily I am saying to you that there are some of those standing here who under no circumstances should be tasting death till they should be perceiving the Son of Mankind coming in His kingdom."

⁶ if so be that it is just of God to repay affliction to those afflicting you, ⁷ and to you who are being afflicted, ease, with us, at the unveiling of the Lord Jesus from heaven with His powerful messengers,

² For if the word spoken through messengers came to be confirmed, and every transgression and disobedience obtained a fair reward,

²⁶ deeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures of Egypt, for he looked away to the reward."

⁵ The wise one may also hear and add to his education, And the man of understanding may acquire skills--"

⁷ Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear Yahweh and withdraw from evil.

⁹ Give reproof to a wise man, and he shall be wiser still; Inform a righteous man, and he shall add to his education."

¹² There is a way that seems straight before a man, Yet the ways of death are the end of it."

¹⁶ A wise man is fearing and withdrawing from evil, Yet the stupid one is congenial and trusting to it."

² All the ways of a man seem spotless to his eyes, Yet it is Yahweh Who regulates the spirits."

²⁵ There is a way that seems straight before a man, Yet its end becomes the ways of death."

²⁰ Hearken to counsel and receive admonition That you may be wise in your latter days.

² Every way of a man seems upright in his own eyes, Yet it is Yahweh Who regulates the hearts."

¹² Do you see a man wise in his own eyes? There is more expectation for a stupid man than for him.

¹⁶ The slothful man is wiser in his own eyes Than seven men who reply with discretion.

¹¹ A rich man may be wise in his own eyes, Yet an understanding poor man shall investigate him."

¹² A breed of men that are clean in their own eyes Yet are not washed from their filth;

¹³ Better a boy, provident and wise, Than a king, old and stupid, who does not know how to take warning any more."

¹⁵ And Jeremiah said unto Zedekiah, `When I declare to you, do you not surely put me to death? and when I counsel you, you do not hearken unto me.'" <sup>16</sup> And the king Zedekiah swears unto Jeremiah in secret, saying, `Yahweh lives, He who made for us this soul, I do not put you to death, nor give you unto the hand of these men who are seeking your soul.'" ¹⁷ And Jeremiah said unto Zedekiah, `Thus said Yahweh, Elohim of Hosts, Elohim of Israel:If you do certainly go forth unto the heads of the king of Babylon, then has your soul lived, and this city is not burned with fire, yea, you have lived, you and your house." <sup>18</sup> And if you do not go forth unto the heads of the king of Babylon, then has this city been given into the hand of the Chaldeans, and they have burnt it with fire, and you do not escape from their hand.'" <sup>19</sup> And the king Zedekiah said unto Jeremiah, `I am fearing the Jews who have fallen unto the Chaldeans, lest they give me into their hand, and they have insulted me.'" ²⁰ And Jeremiah said, `They do not give you up; hearken, I pray you, to the voice of Yahweh, to that which I am speaking unto you, and it is well for you, and your soul does live." <sup>21</sup> `And if you are refusing to go forth, this [is] the thing that Yahweh has shown me:" ²² That, lo, all the women who have been left in the house of the king of Judah are brought forth unto the heads of the king of Babylon, and lo, they are saying:Persuaded you, and prevailed against you, Have your allies, Sunk into mire have your feet, They have been turned backward." ²³ `And all your wives, and your sons, are brought forth unto the Chaldeans, and you do not escape from their hand, for by the hand of the king of Babylon you are caught, and this city is burnt with fire.'" <sup>24</sup> And Zedekiah said unto Jeremiah, `Let no man know of these words, and you do not die;" ²⁵ and when the heads hear that I have spoken with you, and they have come in unto you, and have said unto you, Declare to us, we pray you, what you did speak unto the king, do not hide [it] from us, and we do not put you to death, and what the king spoke unto you, ²⁶ then you have said unto them, I am causing my supplication to fall before the king, not to cause me to return to the house of Jonathan, to die there.'" ²⁷ And all the heads come in unto Jeremiah, and ask him, and he declares to them according to all these words that the king commanded, and they keep silent from him, for the matter was not heard;" ²⁸ and Jeremiah dwells in the court of the prison till the day that Jerusalem has been captured, and he was [there] when Jerusalem was captured."

¹¹ The Pharisee, standing, prayed this to himself: 'God, I am thanking you that I am not even as the rest of men, rapacious, unjust, adulterers, or even as this tribute collector."

³ For if anyone is supposing himself to be anything, being nothing, he is imposing on himself."

³⁰ And the anger of Saul burns against Jonathan, and he said to him, `Son of a perverse rebellious woman! have I not known that you are fixing on the son of Jesse to your shame, and to the shame of the nakedness of your mother? <sup>31</sup> for all the days that the son of Jesse lives on the ground you are not established, you and your kingdom; and now, send and bring him unto me, for he [is] a son of death.. <sup>32</sup> And Jonathan answers Saul his father, and said unto him, `Why is he put to death? what has he done?. ³³ And Saul casts the javelin at him to smite him, and Jonathan knows that it has been determined by his father to put David to death. ³⁴ And Jonathan rises from the table in the heat of anger, and has not eaten food on the second day of the new moon, for he has been grieved for David, for his father put him to shame.

¹ And Ahab declares to Jezebel all that Elijah did, and all how he slew all the prophets by the sword, ² and Jezebel sends a messenger unto Elijah, saying, `Thus does the elohims, and thus do they add, surely about this time to-morrow, I make your life as the life of one of them..

¹² Hatred, it rouses up quarrels, Yet love covers over all transgressions."

³³ Wisdom finds rest in the heart of the one with understanding, Yet within the stupid it is not known."

²² Intelligence is a fountain of life to its possessors, And folly is the flogging of the foolish."

⁹ He who covers a transgression seeks love, Yet he who repeats the matter parts one from his mentor."

²⁸ A breached city where there is no wall, Such is a man to whose spirit there is no restraint."

¹¹ A stupid man speaks forth all his spirit of anger, Yet a wise one becalms it back."

¹⁹ Now you are aware, my beloved brethren! Yet let every man be swift to hear, tardy to speak, tardy to anger,

¹⁴ And Ahimelech answers the king and said, `And who among all your servants [is] as David--faithful, and son-in-law of the king, and has turned aside unto your council, and is honored in your house? ¹⁵ To-day have I begun to ask for him at Elohim? far be it from me! let not the king lay anything against his servant, against any of the house of my father, for your servant has known nothing of all this, less or more..

¹⁹ A false witness who blows out lies, And one who instigates quarrels between brothers."

⁵ A faithful witness does not lie, Yet a false witness breathes out lies."

²⁵ A faithful witness rescues souls, Yet he who breathes out lies is lost in deceit."

⁵ A false witness shall not be held innocent, And he who breathes out lies shall not escape."

²⁸ A worthless witness mocks at judgment, And the mouth of the wicked swallows down lawlessness."

²⁸ The witness of lies shall perish, Yet the man who hearkens carefully shall speak with permanent force."

²⁸ Do not become a gratuitous witness against your associate, Or would you dupe with your lips?

¹⁹ For out of the heart are coming wicked reasonings, murders, adulteries, prostitutions, thefts, false testimonies, calumnies."

⁵⁹ Now the chief priests and the elders and the whole Sanhedrin sought false testimony against Jesus, so that they should be putting Him to death,

¹³ Besides, they put false witnesses on the stand, who say, "This man does not cease speaking, making declarations against this holy place and the law,

¹⁶ having a good conscience, that, in what they are speaking against you as of evildoers, they may be mortified, who traduce your good behavior in Christ."

² Your tongue devises woes, Like a honed razor, you who practice deceit."

⁴ My soul is in the midst of parent-lions; Let me confidently lie among flaming foes, even sons of humanity; Their teeth are spears and arrows, And their tongue a sharp sword."

⁷ Behold, they are uttering growls with their mouth; Swords are on their lips, Saying, Who is hearing?

³ Who whet their tongue like a sword; They position their arrow--a bitter word--

²² For they are life to those finding them, And to one's entire flesh, they are health."

²⁰ Choice silver is the tongue of the righteous one; The heart wisdom of the wicked is of little value. ²¹ The lips of the righteous, they shepherd many, Yet the foolish die from lack of heart wisdom."

¹⁷ A wicked messenger casts one into peril, Yet a faithful agent brings healing."

⁴ A healing tongue is a tree of life, Yet words of subversion in it are a breaking of the spirit."

⁷ The lips of the wise disseminate knowledge, Yet not so the heart of the stupid."

²⁴ Pleasant sayings are honey of the comb, Sweet to the soul and healing to the bones."

¹⁸ A maul, a sword and a whetted arrow, Such is a man who asserts against his associate with false testimony."

³³ The intelligent of the people will cause many to understand, yet they are stumbled by the sword and the blaze, by captivity and plunder for days."

⁶ And the tongue is a fire, a world of injustice. The tongue is constituted among our members that which is spotting the whole body, and setting the wheel of our lineage aflame, and is set aflame by Gehenna." ⁷ For every nature, both of wild beasts and flying creatures, both of reptiles and those of the salt sea, is tamed and has been tamed by human nature." ⁸ Yet the tongue can no man tame - a turbulent evil, distended with death-carrying venom."

¹⁶ And He has in His right hand seven stars, and out of His mouth a sharp two-edged blade is issuing, and His countenance is as the sun appearing in its power."

² In the center of its square, and on either side of the river, is the log of life, producing twelve fruits, rendering its fruit in accord with each month. And the leaves of the log are for the cure of the nations."

⁵ That the jubilation of the wicked is brief, And the rejoicing of the polluted lasts but a moment?

⁴ You love all pernicious words, O you deceitful tongue." ⁵ But El, He shall break you down permanently; He shall rake you up and tear you out from your tent, And He will root you out from the land of the living. {Interlude{ "

⁹ A false witness shall not be held innocent, And he who breathes out lies shall perish."

⁴ You must not become as your forefathers, to whom the former prophets called saying, Thus says Yahweh of hosts:Return, I pray, from your evil ways, and from your evil actions. Yet they hearkened not, and they attended not to Me, (averring is Yahweh)." ⁵ Your forefathers, where are they? And the prophets, are they living for the eon? ⁶ Yea, My words and My statutes, which you have received, which I instruct, by My spirit, My servants the prophets, did they not overtake your forefathers? And they are turning away and are saying:Just as Yahweh of hosts plans to do to us, as fits our ways and our actions, so He does with us."

³⁵ Heaven and earth shall be passing by, yet My words may by no means be passing by."

³ Now Peter said, "Ananias, wherefore does Satan fill your heart for you to falsify to the holy spirit and to embezzle from the price of the freehold? ⁴ Did it not, while remaining, remain yours? And, being disposed of, it belonged to you by right. Why is it that you placed this matter in your heart? You do not lie to men, but to God." ⁵ Now Ananias, hearing these words, falling down, gives up the soul. And great fear came on all those hearing these things." ⁶ Now rising, the younger men enshroud him, and carrying him out, they entomb him." ⁷ Now it occurred, after an interval of about three hours, that his wife, not being aware of what has occurred, entered." ⁸ Now Peter answered her, "Tell me if you took so much pay for the freehold?Now she said, "Yes, so much." ⁹ Now Peter said to her, Why is it that you agreed to try the spirit of the Lord? Lo! the feet of those who entomb your husband are at the door, and they shall be carrying you out." ¹⁰ Now, instantly, she falls at his feet and gives up the soul. Now entering, the youths found her dead, and carrying her out, they entomb her with her husband."

²⁴ With his lips, one who hates dissembles, Yet within him he firmly sets deceit;" ²⁵ When his voice sounds generous, do not believe him, For seven abhorrences are in his heart." ²⁶ One's hatred can be covered by guile, But his evil shall be revealed in the assembly."

⁶ For a Boy is born to us; a Son is given to us, and the chieftainship shall come to be on His shoulder, and His name is called "Marvelous.Counsel to the master shall He bring, to the chief of the future, welfare." ⁷ To the increase of the chieftainship, and to the welfare shall be no end. On the throne of David, and over his kingdom, to prepare it, and to brace it with judgment and with justice, henceforth and in the future eon. The zeal of Yahweh of hosts will do this."

¹⁶ And I hastened not from feeding after You, And the desperate day I have not desired, You--You have known, The produce of my lips, before Your face it has been,

¹³ even he shall build the temple of Yahweh, and he shall bear the splendor. And he shall sit and rule on his throne, and there comes to be a priest at his throne, and the counsel of welfare shall come to be between the two of them."

⁹ "Happy are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.

²¹ For from inside, out of the heart of men, are going out evil reasonings, prostitutions, thefts, murders, ²² adulteries, greed, wickedness, guile, wantonness, a wicked eye, calumny, pride, imprudence."

¹⁴ And, coming, they are saying to Him, "Teacher, we are aware that you are true, and you are not caring about anyone, for you are not looking at the face of men, but, of a truth, the way of God are you teaching. Is it allowed to give poll tax to Caesar, or not? ¹⁵ May we be giving, or may we not be giving?Now He, having perceived their hypocrisy, said to them, "Why are you trying Me? Bring Me a denarius that I may be perceiving it." ¹⁶ Now they bring it. And He is saying to them, "Whose is this image and inscription?Now they say to Him, "Caesar's." ¹⁷ Now Jesus said to them, "Caesar's pay to Caesar, and God's to God.And they were astounded at Him."

²⁹ filled with all injustice, wickedness, evil, greed, distended with envy, murder, strife, guile, depravity, whisperers,

¹⁴ Pursue peace with all, and holiness, apart from which no one shall be seeing the Lord;"

⁸ Now the finish; Be all of a like disposition, sympathetic, fond of the brethren, tenderly compassionate, of a humble disposition, ⁹ not rendering evil for evil, or reviling for reviling, but, on the contrary, blessing, seeing that you were called for this, that you should be enjoying the allotment of blessing, ¹⁰ for He who is wanting to love life and be acquainted with good days, Let his tongue cease from evil And his lips speak no guile." ¹¹ Now let him avoid evil and do good. Let him seek peace and pursue it, ¹² For the eyes of the Lord are on the just And His ears are for their petition, Yet the face of the Lord is on evil doers." ¹³ And is there anyone who will be illtreating you, if you should become zealous of good?

¹⁰ Evil shall not be your fate, And contagion, it shall not approach into your tent."

¹⁴ He whose heart turns away shall be fully repaid for his ways, And the good man for his actions."

¹² And you have said unto them this word, Thus said Yahweh, Elohim of Israel, `Every bottle is full of wine,' And they have said unto you:`Do we not certainly know that every bottle is full of wine?'" ¹³ And you have said unto them, `Thus said Yahweh:Lo, I am filling all the inhabitants of this land, And the kings who sit for David on his throne, And the priests, and the prophets, And all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, [With] drunkenness, ¹⁴ And have dashed them one against another, And the fathers and the sons together, An affirmation of Yahweh, I do not pity, nor spare, nor have I mercy, So as not to destroy them."

¹⁶ You are satisfied with dishonor rather than glory; you, moreover, drink and be uncircumcised. The cup of Yahweh's right hand shall go around to you, and ignominy is added to your glory."

²⁸ Now we are aware that God is working all together for the good of those who are loving God, who are called according to the purpose"

²² whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or the present, or that which is impending - all is yours, ²³ yet you are Christ's, yet Christ is God's."

¹⁷ For the momentary lightness of our affliction is producing for us a transcendently transcendent eonian burden of glory,

¹³ And is there anyone who will be illtreating you, if you should become zealous of good?

⁶ Pay her as she also pays, and double the doubles, in accord with her acts. In her cup in which she blends, blend double for her."

¹⁶ These are six things Yahweh hates, Even seven that are abhorrences to His soul:" ¹⁷ Exalted eyes, a false tongue, And hands shedding innocent blood;"

¹ Deceitful scales are an abhorrence to Yahweh, Yet an equitable standard weight is acceptable to Him."

²⁰ An abhorrence to Yahweh are those who are perverse of heart, Yet His benevolence is with those flawless of way."

⁸ The sacrifice of the wicked is an abhorrence to Yahweh, Yet the prayer of the upright is acceptable to Him."

¹⁵ The elder and reputable, he is the head, and a prophet directing with falsehood, he is the tail."

²⁴ But--in this let the boaster boast himself, In understanding and knowing Me, For I [am] Yahweh, doing kindness, Judgment, and righteousness, in the earth, For in these I have delighted, An affirmation of Yahweh."

¹⁹ Yea, you pierce Me concerning My people, For handfuls of barley, And for pieces of bread, to put to death Souls that should not die, And to keep alive souls that should not live, By your lying to My people--hearkening to lies."

²² Because of paining the heart of the righteous with falsehood, And I have not pained it, And strengthening the hands of the wicked, So as not to turn back from his evil way, To keep him alive,

⁸ Yet the timid, and unbelievers, and the abominable, and murderers, and paramours, and enchanters, and idolaters, and all the false-their part is in the lake burning with fire and sulphur, which is the second death."

¹⁵ Outside are curs, and enchanters, and paramours, and murderers, and idolaters, and everyone fabricating and fondling falsehood."

¹⁴ Wise men, they store up knowledge, Yet the mouth of a foolish man brings dismay near."

¹⁹ In the multiplying of words, transgression does not halt, Yet he who keeps back his lips is intelligent."

¹³ He who goes about as a defamer reveals secret deliberation, Yet one faithful of spirit covers a confidential matter."

¹⁶ Every prudent man acts with knowledge, Yet the stupid one spreads folly."

³ Even as the frivolous man walks along the way, his heart betrays a lack And affirms to all that he is frivolous."

¹² Words from the mouth of a wise man are gracious, Yet the lips of a stupid man swallow him up." ¹³ At the start the words of his mouth are frivolity, And at last from his mouth comes evil raving." ¹⁴ The frivolous man multiplies words; But a man does not know what shall be, And what shall come after him, who can tell him?

¹⁵ see a resting place that is good, and a land that is pleasant, yet stretch out will he his shoulder for a burden, and become will he a servant under a labor levy.

²¹ their sons who are left behind them in the land, whom the sons of Israel have not been able to devote--he has even lifted up [on] them a tribute of service unto this day.

²⁸ and the man Jeroboam [is] mighty in valor, and Solomon sees the young man that he is doing business, and appoints him over all the burden of the house of Joseph.

²⁰ And it comes to pass, at all Israel's hearing that Jeroboam has returned, that they send and call him unto the company, and cause him to reign over all Israel; none has been after the house of David save the tribe of Judah alone.

⁴ A deceitful palm makes destitute, Yet an industrious hand shall enrich."

²⁷ The indolent hunter does not singe his game, Yet the wealth of an industrious man is held precious."

⁴ The slothful man yearns for a thing, and his soul finds it not, Yet the soul of the industrious is conferred with richness."

² An intelligent servant rules over a son who causes shame And is apportioned an allotment in the midst of the brothers.

¹⁵ Slothfulness casts one down into stupor, So that the soul of the indolent man shall famish."

²⁵ The yearning of the slothful man puts him to death, For his hands refuse to work;" ²⁶ All the day he yearns with yearning, Yet the righteous one gives and does not keep back."

¹³ The slothful man says:There is a lion outdoors; I shall be murdered in the middle of the square.

²⁹ Do you perceive a man who is expert in his work? He shall station himself before kings; By no means shall he station himself before obscure men.

³⁰ I passed by the field of the slothful man, And by the vineyard of the man who lacked heart understanding, ³¹ And behold, all of it came up with sting nettles, Prickly acanthus covered its surface, And its barrier-wall of stones was pulled down." ³² Then I myself set my heart on what I was perceiving; I took admonition from what I saw: ³³ A little sleep, a little slumber, A little folding of the hands, to lie at rest, ³⁴ And your destitution will come like a wayfarer, And your lack like a man with a shield."

¹³ The slothful man says, There is a black lion in the road, A lion in the square!" ¹⁴ The door turns about on its hinges, And the slothful one on his couch." ¹⁵ The slothful man buries his hand into the dinner-bowl; He is too tired to bring it back to his mouth. ¹⁶ The slothful man is wiser in his own eyes Than seven men who reply with discretion.

¹ And it comes to pass, in the month of Nisan, the twentieth year of Artaxerxes the king, wine [is] before him, and I lift up the wine, and give to the king, and I had not been sad before him;" ² and the king said to me, `Wherefore [is] your face sad, and you not sick? this is nothing except sadness of heart;' and I fear very much,

⁶ I am wretched; I bow down very low. The entire day I walk in somberness.

¹¹ Why are you prostrated, O my soul, And why are you discomfited within me? Wait for Elohim, for I shall acclaim Him further, The Grand Salvation of my countenance, and my Elohim."

¹⁸ There is talk that is like stabbings of a sword, Yet the tongue of the wise is healing."

¹⁰ The heart knows its own bitterness of soul, And in its rejoicing no alien can partake."

¹³ A rejoicing heart makes the countenance cheerful, Yet by grief of heart the spirit becomes despondent."

¹⁵ All the days of a humbled man seem evil, Yet one cheerful of heart has a continual feast."

²² A rejoicing heart does good as a cure, Yet a despondent spirit dries up the ribs."

¹⁴ A man's spirit sustains him in his illness, Yet a despondent spirit, who can bear it?

¹¹ Apricots of gold in pictures of silver Is a word aptly spoken.

⁹ Oil and incense rejoice the heart, And the sweetness of one's associate stems from the counsel of his soul."

⁴ My Lord Yahweh gives me the tongue of the taught, to know in season to counsel with a word. And He is rousing morning by morning, and He is rousing my ear to hear as the taught."

¹³ And Yahweh of hosts is answering the messenger who is speaking with me, with good words, comforting words."

³³ And He is taking Peter and James and John aside with Himself, and He begins to be overawed and depressed." ³⁴ And He is saying to them, "Sorrow-stricken is My soul to death. Remain here and watch."

⁴ for my joy is that of you all. For out of much affliction and pressure of heart I write to you, through many tears, not that you may be made sorrowful, but that you may know the love which I have for you more superabundantly." ⁵ Now if anyone has caused sorrow, he has not made me sorry, but in part (lest I may be burdening), you all." ⁶ Enough to such is this rebuke, which is by the majority." ⁷ So that, on the contrary, you are rather to deal graciously and console, lest somehow such may be swallowed up by the more excessive sorrow."

³ Concerning the saints, who are in the land, They are noble ones; all my delight is in them."

¹² Out of the brightness in front of Him His thick clouds passed With hail and flashing embers of fire. ¹³ Then Yahweh thundered from the heavens, And the Supreme, He gave forth His voice With hail and flashing embers of fire."

¹³ By the transgression of his lips the evil one is entrapped, Yet the righteous one shall come forth from distress."

²⁷ One who knows knowledge keeps back on his sayings, And the man of comprehension is cool of spirit."

⁴⁶ For if ever you should love those who are loving you, what wages have you? Are not the tribute collectors also doing the same? ⁴⁷ And if ever you should greet your brothers only, what are you doing that is excessive? Are not those of the nations also doing the same? ⁴⁸ You, then, shall be perfect as your heavenly Father is perfect.

³² And if you are loving those loving you, what thanks is it to you? For sinners also are loving those loving them." ³³ And if you should be doing good to those doing good to you, what thanks is it to you? For sinners also are doing the same." ³⁴ And if you should ever be lending to those from whom you are expecting to get back, what thanks is it to you? For sinners also are lending to sinners, that they may get back the equivalent." ³⁵ Moreover, be loving your enemies, and be doing good, and be lending, expecting nothing from them, and your wages will be vast in the heavens, and you will be sons of the Most High, for He is kind to the ungrateful and wicked." ³⁶ Become, then, pitiful, according as your Father also is pitiful."

¹³ Let no one, undergoing trial, be saying that "From God am I undergoing trial,for God is not tried by evils, yet He is trying no one." ¹⁴ Now each one is undergoing trial when he is drawn away and lured by his own desire.

¹⁸ Domestics may do it by being subject to your owners, with all fear, not only to the good and lenient, but to the crooked also;" ¹⁹ for this is grace, if, because of consciousness of God, anyone is undergoing sorrows, suffering unjustly." ²⁰ For what credit is it if, sinning and being buffeted, you will be enduring it? But if, doing good and suffering, you will be enduring, this is grace with God." ²¹ For this were you called, seeing that Christ also suffered for your sakes, leaving you a copy, that you should be following up in the footprints of Him"

¹⁸ For, uttering pompous vanity, they are luring by the lusts of the flesh, in wantonness, those who are scarcely fleeing from those who are behaving with deception;" ¹⁹ promising them freedom, they are inherently slaves of corruption; for by whom anyone is discomfited, to this one he has been enslaved also." ²⁰ For if, while fleeing from the defilements of the world by the recognition of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, yet, being again involved in these, they are being discomfited, their last state has become worse than the first." ²¹ For it were better for them not to have recognized the way of righteousness, than, recognizing it, to go back to what was behind, from the holy precept given over to them." ²² Now that in the true proverb has befallen them: "A cur turning to its own vomit,and "A bathed sow to her wallowing in the mire."

²⁶ These things I write to you concerning those who are deceiving you.

⁹ And the great dragon was cast out, the ancient serpent called Adversary and Satan, who is deceiving the whole inhabited earth. It was cast into the earth, and its messengers were cast with it."

¹⁴ And it is deceiving those dwelling on the earth because of the signs which were given it to do in the sight of the wild beast, saying to those dwelling on the earth to make an image to the wild beast which has the blow of the sword and lives."

¹⁶ Better are a few who are for the righteous one Than a throng of many wicked ones.

¹⁶ Better is a little with the fear of Yahweh Than much treasure and discomfiture along with it;

⁸ Better is a little with righteousness Than much income with injustice.

² And place a knife-point to your gullet If you are a person of soulish appetite.

¹⁵ The slothful man buries his hand into the dinner-bowl; He is too tired to bring it back to his mouth.

¹⁵ See! I put before you today life and good, death and evil.

¹¹ For by me your days shall increase, And years of life shall be added to you."

¹⁶ The wage of the righteous one leads to life, The income of the wicked one leads to sin."

¹⁹ To acquire righteousness leads to life, Yet he who pursues evil goes to his death."

⁹ In My statutes he does walk, And My judgments he has kept--to deal truly, Righteous [is] he, he surely lives, An affirmation of the Lord Yahweh."

²⁰ The soul that does sin--it does die. A son does not bear of the iniquity of the father, And a father does not bear of the iniquity of the son, The righteousness of the righteous is on him, And the wickedness of the wicked is on him." ²¹ And the wicked--when he turns back From all his sins that he has done, And he has kept all My statutes, And has done judgment and righteousness, He does surely live, he does not die." ²² All his transgressions that he has done Are not remembered to him, In his righteousness that he has done he lives." ²³ Do I at all desire the death of the wicked? An affirmation of the Lord Yahweh, Is it not in his turning back from his way--And he has lived? ²⁴ And in the turning back of the righteous from his righteousness, And he has done perversity, According to all the abominations That the wicked has done, he does--thus he lives, All his righteousnesses that he has done are not remembered, For his trespass that he has trespassed, And for his sin that he has sinned, For them he does die."

²¹ that, even as Sin reigns in death, thus Grace also should be reigning through righteousness, for life eonian, through Jesus Christ, our Lord."

²² Yet, now, being freed from Sin, yet enslaved to God, you have your fruit for holiness. Now the consummation is life eonian." ²³ For the ration of Sin is death, yet the gracious gift of God is life eonian, in Christ Jesus, our Lord."

¹¹ For the saving grace of God made its advent to all humanity, ¹² training us that, disowning irreverence and worldly desires, we should be living sanely and justly and devoutly in the current eon,

²⁹ If you should be perceiving that He is just, you know that everyone also who is doing righteousness is begotten of Him."

⁷ Little children, let no one be deceiving you. He who is doing righteousness is just, according as He is just."

¹¹ Beloved, do not be imitating the evil, but the good. He who is doing good is of God. He who is doing evil has not seen God."
