³ Give us our daily dole of bread.

¹⁵ When the sons of Israel saw it, they said, each man to his brother: What is it? for they did not know what it was, So Moses said to them: It is the bread which Yahweh has given to you for food. ¹⁶ This is the matter which Yahweh has instructed: Pick up of it each man corresponding to his eating, an omer for a poll, numbering your souls: each man for those who are in his tent shall you take. ¹⁷ Now the sons of Israel did so. Some picked up an increase and some a decrease. ¹⁸ They measured with an omer, yet the increase had caused no superfluity, and the decrease had caused no lack. Each man corresponding to his eating they had picked it up. ¹⁹ Then Moses said to them: Let no one reserve any of it until the morning. ²⁰ Yet they did not hearken to Moses, and some men reserved some of it until the morning. So it rose high with worms and stank. And Moses was wrathful over them. ²¹ They picked it up morning by morning, each man corresponding to his eating. When the sun was warm then it melted. ²² Now it came to be on the sixth day they picked up a duplicate amount of bread, two omers for one. When all the princes of the congregation came and told it to Moses,

⁸ Put futility and the lying word far from me; Destitution or riches do not give to me; Only provide me a meal of my daily dole of bread,

¹⁶ he shall tabernacle on the heights, fastnesses of crags are his impregnable retreat. His bread shall be bestowed. His water shall be assured."

¹¹ Our bread, our dole, be giving us today."

³⁴ You should not, then, be worrying about the morrow, for the morrow will be worrying of itself. Sufficient for the day is its own evil."

²⁷ Do not work for the food which is perishing, but for the food which is remaining for life eonian, which the Son of Mankind will be giving to you, for this One God, the Father, seals." ²⁸ They said, then, to Him, "What may we be doing that we may be working the works of God? ²⁹ Jesus answered and said to them, "This is the work of God, that you may be believing in that One Whom He commissions." ³⁰ They said, then, to Him, "What sign, then, are you doing, that we may be perceiving and should be believing you? What are you working? ³¹ Our fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, according as it is written, Bread out of heaven He gives them to eat." ³² Jesus, then, said to them, "Verily, verily, I am saying to you, not Moses has given you the bread out of heaven, ³³ but My Father is giving you Bread out of heaven, the true, for the Bread of God is He Who is descending out of heaven and giving life to the world."
