Jeremiah 4:22 Cross References - CLV

²² For my people [are] foolish, me they have not known, Foolish sons [are] they, yea, they [are] not intelligent, Wise [are] they to do evil, And to do good they have not known."

⁶ Is this what you requite to Yahweh, you decadent and unwise people? Is not He your Father Who acquired you? He Himself made you and established you.

²⁸ For they are a nation whose counsel is destructive, and there is no understanding in them.

³ And Amnon has a friend, and his name [is] Jonadab, son of Shimeah, David's brother, and Jonadab [is] a very wise man,

²¹ And Ahithophel said unto Absalom, `Go in unto the concubines of your father, whom he left to keep the house, and all Israel has heard that you have been abhorred by your father, and the hands of all who [are] with you have been strong.. ²² And they spread out for Absalom the tent on the roof, and Absalom goes in unto the concubines of his father before the eyes of all Israel. ²³ And the counsel of Ahithophel which he counselled in those days [is] as [when] one inquires at the word of Elohim; so [is] all the counsel of Ahithophel both to David and to Absalom.

¹ {A Davidic Psalm{ The decadent one says in his heart, There is no Elohim. They have become corrupt and abhorrent with iniquitous deeds. There is no one doing good." ² Yahweh, He gazes down from the heavens on the sons of humanity, To see whether there is anyone acting intelligently, Anyone seeking after Elohim." ³ All withdraw aside; together they are spoiled. There is no one doing good; There is not even one. ⁴ Have they no knowledge, all those contrivers of lawlessness, Who are devouring My people as they would devour bread? They do not call upon Yahweh."

³ The bull knows his owner, and the ass the crib of his possessors, yet Israel does not know Me, and My people do not consider Me."

⁹ And He is saying to me, "Go, and say to this people:`Hear you to hear, yet you must not be understanding." ¹⁰ And see you to see, yet you must not be knowing. Stouten the heart of this people, and their ears make heavy, and their eyes make squint. Lest they are seeing with their eyes, and with their ears are hearing, and with their heart are understanding, and, turning back, then healing is theirs."

¹¹ when its grass is dry. Women shall look forward, coming to enlighten it, for it is not a people of understanding. Therefore no compassion is its Maker showing to it, and its Former will not be gracious to it."

¹⁰ For Yahweh has libated on you a spirit of stupor. And He is restraining your eyes, that is, the prophets, and your heads, the vision seers, He covers." ¹¹ And to you are all visions becoming as the words of a sealed scroll, which they are giving him acquainted with the scroll, saying, "Read this, pray.And he says, "I cannot, for it is sealed." ¹² And the scroll is given to one who is not acquainted with the scroll, saying, "Read this, pray.And he says, "I am not acquainted with a scroll."

¹⁹ And who is blind, save My servant? And deaf, as My messenger that I am sending? Who is blind as one repaid? And deaf as the servant of Yahweh? ²⁰ You see much, yet you are not observing. Unclosed are your ears, yet you are not hearkening."

⁴ And I--I said, `Surely these [are] poor, They have been foolish, For they have not known the way of Yahweh, The judgment of their Elohim."

²¹ Hear you, I pray you, this, O people, foolish and without heart, Eyes they have, and they see not, Ears they have, and they hear not."

⁷ Even a stork in the heavens has known her seasons, And turtle, and swallow, and crane, Have watched the time of their coming, And--My people have not known the judgment of Yahweh." ⁸ How do you say, We [are] wise, And the law of Yahweh [is] with us? Surely, lo, falsely it has wrought, The false pen of scribes." ⁹ Ashamed have been the wise, They have been affrighted, and are captured, Lo, against a word of Yahweh they kicked, And the wisdom of what--have they?

⁸ And in one they are brutish and foolish, An instruction of vanities [is] the tree itself."

²³ Does a Cushite change his skin? and a leopard his spots? You also are able to do good, who are accustomed to do evil."

¹ Hear the word of Yahweh, sons of Israel! For Yahweh has a contention with the dwellers of the land, for there is no truth and there is no kindness and there is no knowledge of Elohim in the land."

⁶ My people shall be stilled because of failing knowledge, seeing that you reject knowledge. Then I am rejecting you from being a priest for Me, and as you are forgetting the law of your Elohim, I will forget your sons--even I."

⁴ Their actions will not allow them to return to their Elohim, for the spirit of prostitution is within them, and Yahweh they do not know."

¹ Woe to devisers of lawlessness and contrivers of evil on their beds! In the light of the morning are they executing it, for it is at the disposal of their hand."

¹⁶ Woe to you, blind guides! who are saying, 'Whoever should be swearing by the temple, it is nothing; yet whoever should be swearing by the gold of the temple is owing.'" ¹⁷ Stupid and blind! for which is greater, the gold, or the temple that hallows the gold? ¹⁸ And, 'Whoever should be swearing by the altar, it is nothing; yet whoever should be swearing by the approach present upon it is owing.'" ¹⁹ Stupid and blind! for which is greater, the approach present, or the altar that is hallowing the approach present? ²⁰ He, then, who swears by the altar is swearing by it and by all which is upon it." ²¹ And he who swears by the temple is swearing by it and by Him Who is dwelling in it. ²² And he who swears by heaven is swearing by the throne of God and by Him Who is sitting upon it. ²³ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for you are taking tithes from the mint and the dill and the cumin, and leave the weightier matters of the law, judging and mercy and faith. Now these it was binding for you to do, and not leave those." ²⁴ Blind guides! straining out a gnat, yet swallowing a camel!" ²⁵ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for you are cleansing the outside of the cup and the plate, yet inside they are brimming with rapacity and incontinence." ²⁶ Blind Pharisee! Cleanse first the inside of the cup and the plate, that their outside also may be becoming clean!"

⁸ And the lord applauds the unjust administrator, for he does prudently, for the sons of this eon are more prudent, above the sons of light in their own generation."

³ And these things will they be doing to you, for they know not the Father nor even Me."

²² Alleging themselves to be wise, they are made stupid,

²⁸ And according as they do not test God, to have Him in recognition, God gives them over to a disqualified mind, to do that which is not befitting,

¹¹ Not one is understanding. Not one is seeking out God.

¹⁹ For your obedience reached out to all. Over you, then, am I rejoicing. Now I am wanting you to be wise, indeed, for good, yet artless for evil."

²⁰ Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the discusser of this eon? Does not God make stupid the wisdom of this world? ²¹ For since, in fact, in the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom knew not God, God delights, through the stupidity of the heralding, to save those who are believing,

²⁰ Brethren, do not become little children in disposition. But in evil be minors, yet in disposition become mature."
