Isaiah 65:12 Cross References - CLV

¹² I count you for the sword, and all of you for slaughter shall be hacked down. Because I called, yet you did not answer, I spoke, yet you did not hearken. And you are doing evil in My eyes. And what I do not desire, that you choose."

²⁵ I will bring the sword on you avenging the vengeance of the covenant. When you will be gathered into your cities then I will send the plague into your midst, and you will be given into the hand of the enemy.

²⁵ From the outside, the sword shall bereave, and from the chambers, the dread of war, even for the man in his prime, even for the virgin, the suckling along with the grey-haired man.

¹⁵ And Yahweh, Elohim of their fathers, sends unto them by the hand of His messengers--rising early and sending--for He has had pity on His people, and on His habitation, ¹⁶ and they are mocking at the messengers of Elohim, and despising His words, and acting deceitfully with His prophets, till the going up of the fury of Yahweh against His people--till there is no healing.

²⁴ Because I called, and you refused, I stretched out my hand, and no one attended, ²⁵ And you renounced all my counsel, And you would not heed my reproof, ²⁶ Indeed, I myself shall ridicule you in your calamity; I shall deride when alarm comes upon you, ²⁷ When alarm comes upon you like a tumult, And calamity, it arrives upon you like a sweeping whirlwind, When distress and constraint come upon you." ²⁸ Then they shall call me, yet I shall not answer; They shall seek me early, yet shall not find me." ²⁹ Because they hated knowledge And would not choose the fear of Yahweh, ³⁰ They would not heed my counsel, They spurned all my correction, ³¹ Thus they shall eat of the fruit of their way, And they shall be surfeited with the results of their counsels." ³² For the instability of the simple, it shall kill them, And the carelessness of the stupid, it shall destroy them." ³³ Yet whoever is hearkening to me shall tabernacle in trust, And he will be tranquil, away from alarm of peril."

¹⁶ Wash yourselves! Purge yourselves! Take away the evil of your actions from in front of My eyes!

²⁵ Your shameful death-doomed by the sword shall fall, and your masters in the war."

⁴ Barring one bows under a prisoner, or under the killed, they shall fall. And in all this His anger does not reverse, and His hand is outstretched still!"

¹ In that day Yahweh will check over with His sword, holy and great and steadfast, on the dragon, the fugitive serpent, and on the dragon, the tortuous serpent, and He will kill the monster which is in the sea."

²⁸ yet I am seeing, and there is no man, and of these also, there is no counsellor, that I should ask them, and they should reply with a word."

² For what reason, when I came, was there no man? I called, and there was no answer? Is My hand too short to ransom? Or should no vigor be in Me to rescue? Behold! By My rebuke will I drain the sea; I will convert streams into a wilderness. Their fish will dry up, because there is no water, and they will die from thirst."

³ the people who are vexing Me to My face continually, they who are sacrificing in gardens, and fuming incense on bricks to demons,

³ Yet the wicked one-- the slaying of a bull, to Me is as smiting a man, sacrificing a flockling is as breaking the neck of a cur, bringing up an approach present is as the blood of a swine, making a memorial of frankincense is as blessing lawlessness. Moreover, they choose their own ways, and in their abominations their soul delights." ⁴ Moreover, I, I will choose among their unweaned, and their shrinking ones will I bring to them, because I called and there was no answer, I spoke and they did not hearken. And they are doing evil in My eyes, and what I do not desire, that they choose."

¹³ And now, because of your doing all these works, An affirmation of Yahweh, And I speak unto you, rising early and speaking, And you have not hearkened, And I call you, and you have not answered,

¹⁷ For Mine eyes [are] upon all their ways, They have not been hidden from My face, Nor has their iniquity been concealed from before Mine eyes."

²¹ Therefore, give up their sons to famine, And cause them to run on the sides of the sword, And their wives are bereaved and widows, And their men are slain by death, Their young men smitten by sword in battle,

¹⁷ `Therefore, thus said Yahweh:You have not hearkened unto Me to proclaim freedom, each to his brother, and each to his neighbor; lo, I am proclaiming to you liberty--an affirmation of Yahweh--unto the sword, unto the pestilence, and unto the famine, and I have given you for a trembling to all kingdoms of the earth."

¹⁷ `Or--a sword I bring in against that land, and I have said:Sword, you do pass over through the land, and I have cut off from it man and beast--" <sup>18</sup> and these three men in its midst:I live--an affirmation of the Lord Yahweh--they deliver not sons and daughters, for they alone are delivered." <sup>19</sup> `Or--pestilence I send unto that land, and I have poured out My fury against it in blood, to cut off from it man and beast--" ²⁰ and Noah, Daniel, and Job, in its midst:I live--an affirmation of the Lord Yahweh--neither son nor daughter do they deliver; they, by their righteousness, deliver their own soul." ²¹ `For thus said the Lord Yahweh:Although My four sore judgments--sword, and famine, and wild beast, and pestilence--I have sent unto Jerusalem, to cut off from it man and beast,

⁴ I stretch out My hand over Judah, and over all dwellers of Jerusalem. And I cut off the name of Baal from this place, and the name of the dervishes with the priests, ⁵ and those worshiping on the house tops to the host of the heavens, and those worshiping--swearing to Yahweh and swearing by their king, ⁶ and those turned away from after Yahweh, who do not seek Yahweh, nor inquire of Him."

⁷ Are they not the words which Yahweh calls by the hand of the former prophets, when Jerusalem came to be indwelt and at ease, and her cities round about her, and the south rim, and the lowland were indwelt?

¹¹ Yet they are refusing to attend, and they are giving a stubborn shoulder, and their ears they make heavy against hearing, ¹² and their hearts they make corundum against hearing the law and the words which Yahweh of hosts sent by His spirit, by the hand of the former prophets. And great wrath is coming from Yahweh of hosts." ¹³ And it is coming, just as he calls and they did not hear, so are they calling, and I am not hearing, says Yahweh of hosts."

³⁴ Now when the season of the fruits draws near, he dispatches his slaves to the farmers to be getting his fruits." ³⁵ And the farmers, taking his slaves, indeed, lash one, yet kill one, yet pelt one with stones." ³⁶ Again he dispatches other slaves, more than the first. And they do to them similarly." ³⁷ Yet subsequently he dispatches to them his son, saying, 'They will be respecting my son.'" ³⁸ Yet the farmers, perceiving the son, said among themselves, 'This is the enjoyer of the allotment. Hither! We should be killing him and have the enjoyment of his allotment.'" ³⁹ And taking him they cast him out of the vineyard and kill him. ⁴⁰ Whenever, then, the lord of the vineyard may be coming, what will he be doing to those farmers? ⁴¹ They are saying to Him, "Evil men! Evilly will he be destroying them, and the vineyard will he be leasing to other farmers, who will be rendering the fruits to him in their seasons." ⁴² Jesus is saying to them, "Did you never read in the scriptures, 'The stone which is rejected by the builders, This came to be for the head of the corner. From the Lord came this, and it is marvelous in our eyes'? ⁴³ Therefore am I saying to you that the kingdom of God shall be taken away from you and shall be given to a nation producing its fruits.

³ And he dispatches his slaves to call those invited to the wedding festivities, and they would not come."

⁷ Now the king is angered, and, sending his troops, destroys those murderers and sets their city in flames."
