¹⁹ Behold Me doing a new thing. Now is it sprouting. Are you not knowing it? Indeed, I am placing a way in the wilderness, tracks in the desolation."

⁶ Behold Me standing before you there, on the rock at Mount Horeb. You will smite the rock, and water will come forth from it, and the people will drink. Moses did so before the eyes of the elders of Israel.

¹¹ When Moses raised up his hand and smote the crag with his rod twice, then much water came forth, and the congregation and their livestock drank.

¹⁵ Who was causing you to go through the great and fear-inspiring wilderness with burning serpents and scorpions and thirsty ground in which there is no water, Who was bringing forth for you water from the flinty rock,

¹⁶ He brought forth floods from a crag, And He made the water descend like streams." ¹⁷ Yet they continued still to sin against Him, To rebel against the Supreme in an arid place." ¹⁸ They probed El in their heart By requesting food for their soul. ¹⁹ So they spoke against Elohim; they said, Is El able to arrange a table in the wilderness? ²⁰ Behold, He smote the rock, and waters gushed out, And the watercourses overflowed, But is He able to give bread? Or can He prepare meat for His people?

⁴¹ He opened a rock, and waters gushed out; They flowed into the arid places as a stream."

⁶ Then leap as a deer shall the lame, and jubilate shall the tongue of the mute. For rent in the wilderness shall be waters, and watercourses in the gorge shall go." ⁷ And the seared sink becomes a pond, and the thirsty land has fonts of water. In the homestead of jackals shall be a morass, an environ for reed and papyrus." ⁸ And there comes to be a highway and a clean one. And the holy way shall it be called. The unclean shall not pass there. And it shall be for those going that way, yet the dispersed shall not go astray on it, and the foolish shall not stray." ⁹ Nor shall a lion come there, and a breacher of living things will fail to ascend it. It shall not be found there. Yet the redeemed shall go into it, ¹⁰ and the ransomed of Yahweh shall return, and they shall enter Zion with jubilation, and rejoicing eonian shall be on their head. Elation and rejoicing shall they overtake, and flee shall affliction and sighing."

³ The voice of one calling:"In the wilderness, surface the way of Yahweh! And straighten, in the gorge, a highway for our Elohim!" ⁴ Every ravine shall be lifted up, and every mountain and hill shall be lowered. And all the crooked shall come to be straight, and the knobs a valley."

¹⁸ I will open up streams on ridges, and in the midst of valleys, springs. I will convert the wilderness into a pond of water, and arid land into vents of water."

⁹ The former things; behold, they came! And the new things will I tell. Ere they are sprouting, I will announce them to you."

⁶ You have heard! You perceive it all! Yet you, are you not telling? I announce to you new things henceforth, and things preserved, yet you do not know them."

²¹ And they were not thirsty in the deserts in which He conducted them. He caused water from a rock to exude for them. And rending was the rock, and gushing was the water, and My people drink." ²² No peace,says Yahweh, "is there for the wicked."

²² Till when do you withdraw yourself, O backsliding daughter? For Yahweh has prepared a new thing in the land, Woman does compass man."

⁴ as it is written in the scroll of the sayings of Isaiah the prophet, saying, "The voice of one imploring: 'In the wilderness make ready the road of the Lord! Straight...be making the highways'of Him!" ⁵ 'Every ravine shall be filled And every mountain and hill shall be made low, And the crooked shall be straight, And the rough places into smooth roads,..."

¹⁷ So that, if anyone is in Christ, there is a new creation: the primitive passed by. Lo! there has come new!"

⁵ And He Who is sitting on the throne said, "Lo! New am I making all!And He is saying, "Write, for these sayings are faithful and true."
