Isaiah 41:9 Cross References - CLV

⁹ from the ends of the land, and from beside it I called you. And I am saying to you, `My servant are you. I choose you, and I do not reject you."

⁶ For you are a people holy to Yahweh your Elohim; Yahweh your Elohim has chosen you to become His, a special people from all the peoples who are on the surface of the ground. ⁷ It was not because your multitude was more than all the other peoples that Yahweh was attached to you and chose you, for you were the fewest of all the peoples.

² And Joshua said unto all the people, `Thus said Yahweh, Elohim of Israel, Beyond the River have your fathers dwelt of old--Terah father of Abraham and father of Nachor--and they serve other elohims;" ³ and I take your father Abraham from beyond the River, and cause him to go through all the land of Canaan, and multiply his seed, and give to him Isaac. ⁴ And I give to Isaac, Jacob and Esau; and I give to Esau mount Seir, to possess it; and Jacob and his sons have gone down to Egypt.

²² for Yahweh does not leave His people, on account of His great name; for Yahweh has been pleased to make you to Him for a people.

⁷ `You [are] He, O Yahweh Elohim, who did fix on Abraham, and did bring him out from Ur of the Chaldeans, and did make his name Abraham, <sup>8</sup> and did find his heart stedfast before You, so as to make with him the covenant, to give the land of the Canaanite, the Hittite, the Amorite, and the Perizzite, and the Jebusite, and the Girgashite, to give [it] to his seed. `And You do establish Your words, for You [are] righteous, ⁹ and do see the affliction of our fathers in Egypt, and their cry have heard by the sea of Suph, ¹⁰ and do give signs and wonders on Pharaoh, and on all his servants, and on all the people of his land, for You have known that they have acted proudly against them, and You make to You a name as [at] this day. ¹¹ And the sea You have cleaved before them, and they pass over into the midst of the sea on the dry land, and their pursuers You have cast into the depths, as a stone, into the strong waters. ¹² And by a pillar of cloud You have led them by day, and by a pillar of fire by night, to lighten to them the way in which they go. ¹³ `And on mount Sinai You have come down, even to speak with them from the heavens, and You do give to them right judgments, and true laws, good statutes and commands. <sup>14</sup> And Your holy sabbath You have made known to them, and commands, and statutes, and law, You have commanded for them, by the hand of Moses Your servant;" <sup>15</sup> and bread from the heavens You have given to them for their hunger, and water from a rock have brought out to them for their thirst, and do say to them to go in to possess the land that You have lifted up Your hand to give to them. <sup>16</sup> `And they and our fathers have acted proudly, and harden their neck, and have not hearkened unto Your commands, ¹⁷ yea, they refuse to hearken, and have not remembered Your wonders that You have done with them, and harden their neck and appoint a head, to turn back to their service, in their rebellion; and You [are] a Eloah of pardons, gracious, and merciful, long-suffering, and abundant in kindness, and have not forsaken them. ¹⁸ `Also, when they have made to themselves a molten calf, and say, this [is] your elohim that brought you up out of Egypt, and do great despisings, <sup>19</sup> and You, in Your abundant mercies, have not forsaken them in the wilderness--the pillar of the cloud has not turned aside from off them by day, to lead them in the way, and the pillar of the fire by night, to give light to them and the way in which they go. <sup>20</sup> `And Your good Spirit You have given, to cause them to act wisely; and Your manna You have not withheld from their mouth, and water You have given to them for their thirst, ²¹ and forty years You have nourished them in a wilderness; they have not lacked; their garments have not worn out, and their feet have not swelled. ²² `And You give to them kingdoms, and peoples, and do apportion them to the corner, and they possess the land of Sihon, and the land of the king of Heshbon, and the land of Og king of Bashan. <sup>23</sup> And their sons You have multiplied as the stars of the heavens, and bring them in unto the land that You have said to their fathers to go in to possess. <sup>24</sup> `And the sons come in, and possess the land, and You humble before them the inhabitants of the land, the Canaanites, and give them into their hand, and their kings, and the peoples of the land, to do with them according to their pleasure. ²⁵ And they capture fenced cities, and fat ground, and possess houses full of all good, digged-wells, vineyards, and olive-yards, and fruit-trees in abundance, and they eat, and are satisfied, and become fat, and delight themselves in Your great goodness. ²⁶ `And they are disobedient, and rebel against You, and cast Your law behind their back, and Your prophets they have slain, who testified against them, to bring them back unto You, and they do great despisings, <sup>27</sup> and You give them into the hand of their adversaries, and they distress them, and in the time of their distress they cry unto You, and You, from the heavens, do hear, and, according to Your abundant mercies, do give to them saviours, and they save them out of the hand of their adversaries. <sup>28</sup> `And when they have rest, they turn back to do evil before You, and You do leave them in the hand of their enemies, and they rule over them; and they turn back, and call You, and You from the heavens do hear, and do deliver them, according to Your mercies, many times, ²⁹ and do testify against them, to bring them back unto Your law; and they--they have acted proudly, and have not hearkened to Your commands, and against Your judgments have sinned, --which man does and has lived in them--and they give a refractory shoulder, and their neck have hardened, and have not hearkened. ³⁰ `And You draw over them many years, and testify against them by Your Spirit, by the hand of Your prophets, and they have not given ear, and You do give them into the hand of peoples of the lands, <sup>31</sup> and in Your abundant mercies You have not made them a consumption, nor have forsaken them; for a El, gracious and merciful, [are] You. <sup>32</sup> `And now, O our Elohim--El, the great, the mighty, and the fearful, keeping the covenant and the kindness--let not all the travail that has found us be little before You, for our kings, for our heads, and for our priests, and for our prophets, and for our fathers, and for all Your people, from the days of the kings of Asshur unto this day;" ³³ and You [are] righteous concerning all that has come upon us, for truth You have done, and we have done wickedly;" ³⁴ and our kings, our heads, our priests, and our fathers, have not done Your law, nor attended unto Your commands, and to Your testimonies, that You have testified against them;" ³⁵ and they, in their kingdom, and in Your abundant goodness, that You have given to them, and in the land, the large and the fat, that You have set before them, have not served You, nor turned back from their evil doings. ³⁶ `Lo, we--to-day--[are] servants, and the land that You have given to our fathers, to eat its fruit and its good--lo, we [are] servants on it, ³⁷ and its increase it is multiplying to the kings whom You have set over us in our sins; and over our bodies they are ruling, and over our cattle, according to their pleasure, and we [are] in great distress. ³⁸ And for all this we are making a stedfast covenant, and are writing, and over him who is sealed [are] our heads, our Levites, our priests..

¹⁴ For Yahweh shall not abandon His people, And He shall not forsake His allotment."

² Let the redeemed of Yahweh testify so, Whom He has redeemed from the hand of the foe." ³ He has convened them from far countries, From east and from west, From north and from the sea."

² Who roused one from the sunrise? A just one; and He is calling him to His foot, and He is setting the nations before him, and over kings is he swaying. And He is giving them, as soil, to his sword, and, as straw whisked away, to his bow,

⁸ Now you, Israel, My servant; Jacob, whom I have chosen; the seed of Abraham, My love, whom I encourage;"

⁵ You must not fear, for I am with you! From the rising of the sun will I bring your seed, and from the west will I convene you." ⁶ I will say to the north, `Give.' And to the south, `You must not detain.' Bring My sons from a land afar, and My daughters from the ends of the earth;"

²⁵ Thus said Yahweh:If My covenant [is] not daily and nightly, The statutes of heaven and earth I have not appointed--" ²⁶ Also the seed of Jacob, and David My servant, I reject, Against taking from his seed rulers For the seed of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, For I turn back [to] their captivity, and have pitied them.'"

²⁹ And they will be arriving from east and west and from north and south and will be made to recline in the kingdom of God.

¹ I am saying, then, Does not God thrust away His people? May it not be coming to that! For I also am an Israelite, out of Abraham's seed, Benjamin's tribe." ² God does not thrust away His people whom He foreknew. Or have you not perceived in Elijah what the scripture is saying, as he is pleading with God against Israel?

²⁶ For you are observing your calling, brethren, that there are not many wise according to the flesh; not many powerful, not many noble, ²⁷ but the stupidity of the world God chooses, that He may be disgracing the wise, and the weakness of the world God chooses, that He may be disgracing the strong, ²⁸ and the ignoble and the contemptible things of the world God chooses, and that which is not, that He may be discarding that which is, ²⁹ so that no flesh at all should be boasting in God's sight.

⁵ Hear, my beloved brethren! Does not God choose the poor in the world, rich in faith and enjoyers of the allotment of the kingdom which He promises to those who are loving Him?

⁹ And they are singing a new song, saying, "Worthy art Thou to be taking the scroll and to open its seals, For Thou wast slain and dost buy us for God by Thy blood. Out of every tribe and language and people and nation."
