² And it comes to be, as people, so priest, as servant, so his lord, as maid, so her mistress, as buyer, so seller, as borrowee, so borrower, as lender, so him to whom is lent."

⁵⁰ And to Joseph are born two sons, ere the seven famine years are coming, whom Asenath, daughter of Potiphera, priest of On, bears for him.

³⁶ Do not take advance interest or accrued interest from him. You will fear your Elohim, so that your brother be alive beside you. ³⁷ Your silver you shall not give to him on advance interest, nor give your food on accrued interest.

¹⁹ You shall not charge interest to your brother:interest on silver, interest on food, interest on anything else that might earn interest. ²⁰ To a foreigner you may charge interest, but to your brother you shall not charge interest, so that Yahweh your Elohim may bless you in every undertaking of your hand in the land where you are coming to tenant it.

¹⁴ Also, all the heads of the priests, and the people, having multiplied to commit a trespass according to all the abominations of the nations, and they defile the house of Yahweh that He has sanctified in Jerusalem. ¹⁵ And Yahweh, Elohim of their fathers, sends unto them by the hand of His messengers--rising early and sending--for He has had pity on His people, and on His habitation, ¹⁶ and they are mocking at the messengers of Elohim, and despising His words, and acting deceitfully with His prophets, till the going up of the fury of Yahweh against His people--till there is no healing. ¹⁷ And He causes to go up against them the king of the Chaldeans, and he slays their chosen ones by the sword in the house of their sanctuary, and has had no pity on young man and virgin, old man and very aged--the whole He has given into his hand.

²⁰ And he removes those left of the sword unto Babylon, and they are to him and to his sons for servants, till the reigning of the kingdom of Persia,

⁹ And prostrating is the human! And abasing himself is the man! And you must not be lifting them up.

² the master and the man of war, the judge and the prophet, and the diviner and the elder, ³ the chief of fifty, and the reputable, and the counselor and the wise, the artificers and the one who understands charm whistling." ⁴ And I give them youths for their chiefs, and the unweaned will rule among them." ⁵ And exactors oppress the people, man by man, and each man his associate. Audacious is the youth with the elder, and the slighted with the glorious." ⁶ For a man is grasping his brother, of the household of his father, saying, "Raiment have you! Our captain shall you become! And this food shall be under your hands." ⁷ Yet swearing, he lifts up his hand in that day, saying, "I will not become one who binds up wounds, and in my house there is no bread and no raiment. You shall not place me as a captain over the people!" ⁸ For faltered has Jerusalem, and Judah falls, for their tongue is offensive, and their actions against Yahweh are defiant, therefore, now, humbled is their glory."

¹⁵ And prostrating is the human, and abasing himself is the man, and the eyes of the lofty are lowering."

¹⁴ And Yahweh will cut off from Israel head and tail, frond and rush in one day." ¹⁵ The elder and reputable, he is the head, and a prophet directing with falsehood, he is the tail." ¹⁶ And they are coming to make this people happy, leading them astray, and those being made happy will be swallowed up." ¹⁷ Therefore, their choice men my Lord will not spare, and on their orphans and their widows He will not have compassion, for all of them are polluted and doing evil, and every mouth speaks decadence. In all this His anger does not reverse, and His hand is outstretched still!"

³ Yahweh, Your eyes, are they not on stedfastness? You have smitten them, and they have not grieved, You have consumed them, They have refused to receive instruction, They made their faces harder than a rock, They have refused to turn back." ⁴ And I--I said, `Surely these [are] poor, They have been foolish, For they have not known the way of Yahweh, The judgment of their Elohim." ⁵ I get me to the great, and I speak with them, For they have known the way of Yahweh, The judgment of their Elohim.' Surely they together have broken the yoke, They have drawn away the bands." ⁶ Therefore smitten them has a lion out of the forest, A wolf of the deserts does spoil them, A leopard is watching over their cities, Every one who is going out of them is torn, For many have been their transgressions, Mighty have been their backslidings."

¹¹ For both prophet and priest have been profane, Yea, in My house I found their wickedness, An affirmation of Yahweh." ¹² Therefore is their way to them as slippery places, Into thick darkness they are driven, And they have fallen in it, For I bring in against them evil, The year of their inspection, An affirmation of Yahweh." ¹³ And in prophets of Samaria I have seen folly, They have prophesied by Baal, And cause my people--Israel--to err."

² And Ishmael son of Nethaniah rises, and the ten men who have been with him, and they smite Gedaliah son of Ahikam, son of Shaphan, with the sword, and he puts him to death whom the king of Babylon has appointed over the land."

¹⁸ for thus said Yahweh of Hosts, Elohim of Israel:As poured out has been Mine anger and My fury on the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so poured out is My fury upon you in your entering Egypt, and you have been for an execration, and for an astonishment, and for a reviling, and for a reproach, and you do not see any more this place."

¹¹ `Therefore, thus said Yahweh of Hosts, Elohim of Israel:Lo, I am setting my face against you for evil, even to cut off all Judah, <sup>12</sup> and I have taken the remnant of Judah, who have set their faces to enter the land of Egypt to sojourn there, and they have all been consumed in the land of Egypt; they fall by sword, by famine they are consumed, from the least even unto the greatest, by sword and by famine they die, and they have been for an execration, for an astonishment, and for a reviling, and for a reproach." <sup>13</sup> `And I have seen after those dwelling in the land of Egypt, as I saw after Jerusalem, with sword, with famine, and with pestilence,

²⁴ And the chief of the executioners takes Seraiah the head priest, and Zephaniah the second priest, and the three keepers of the threshold, ²⁵ and out of the city he has taken a certain eunuch, who has been inspector over the men of war, and seven men of those seeing the king's face, who have been found in the city, and the head scribe of the host, who musters the people of the land, and sixty men of the people of the land, who are found in the midst of the city;" ²⁶ and Nebuzar-Adan, chief of the executioners, takes them, and brings them unto the king of Babylon to Riblah, ²⁷ and the king of Babylon smites them, and puts them to death in Riblah, in the land of Hamath, and he removes Judah from off its own ground." ²⁸ This [is] the people whom Nebuchadrezzar has removed:in the seventh year, of Jews, three thousand and twenty and three;" ²⁹ in the eighteenth year of Nebuchadrezzar--from Jerusalem, souls, eight hundred thirty and two;" ³⁰ in the three and twentieth year of Nebuchadrezzar, has Nebuzar-Adan chief of the guard removed of Jewish souls, seven hundred forty and five; all the souls [are] four thousand and six hundred."

¹³ Because of the sins of her prophets, the depravities of her priests, Who were pouring out within her the blood of the righteous,

¹² Chiefs are hung by their hands; the face of the old is not honored. ¹³ Choice young men must bear the grinding, and youths falter under loads of wood." ¹⁴ Elders have ceased from the gateway, choice youth from their accompaniment of song."

¹² Come has the time, arrived has the day, The buyer does not rejoice, And the seller does not become a mourner, For wrath [is] unto all its multitude." ¹³ For the seller to the sold thing turns not, And yet among the living [is] their life, For the vision [is] unto all its multitude, It does not turn back, And none by his iniquity does strengthen his life."

⁸ and I have set My face against that man, and made him for a sign, and for similes, and I have cut him off from the midst of My people, and you have known that I [am] Yahweh." ⁹ `And the prophet, when he is enticed, and has spoken a word--I, Yahweh, I have enticed that prophet, and have stretched out My hand against him, and have destroyed him from the midst of My people Israel." ¹⁰ And they have borne their iniquity:as the iniquity of the inquirer, so is the iniquity of the prophet;"

⁵ We sin and we are depraved, we do wickedly and revolt, we withdraw from Thy instructions and from Thy judgments." ⁶ We do not hearken to Thy servants the prophets, who speak in Thy name to our kings, our chiefs, our forefathers and to all the people of the land." ⁷ To Thee, my Lord, is righteousness, yet to us is shamefacedness as at this day:To each man of Judah, to the dwellers of Jerusalem, to all the people of Israel, the near and the far, in all the lands where Thou hast expelled them for their offense with which they offend Thee." ⁸ To Thee, Yahweh, is righteousness, yet to us is shamefacedness:To our kings, to our chiefs, to our forefathers, who sin against Thee."

⁹ And it comes to be as the people are, so is the priest. And I visit on them their ways, and their actions will I reverse to them."

⁸ being aware that, whatsoever good each one should be doing, for this he will be requited by the Lord, whether slave or free." ⁹ And, masters, be doing the same toward them, being lax in threatening, being aware that their Master as well as yours is in the heavens, and there is no partiality with Him. "
