⁶ Smitten are peoples in a rage, a smiting barring withdrawal. Swaying, in anger, over nations, pursuing, failing to keep back."

¹⁷ And He causes to go up against them the king of the Chaldeans, and he slays their chosen ones by the sword in the house of their sanctuary, and has had no pity on young man and virgin, old man and very aged--the whole He has given into his hand.

¹³ Eloah, He does not reverse His anger; The helpers of Rahab prostrate before Him.

³⁰ There is no wisdom, there is no comprehension, And there is no counsel in confronting Yahweh."

¹⁴ and my hand is finding, as a nest, the estate of the peoples, and, as one gathers forsaken eggs, the entire earth do I gather. And no one comes to be ruffling a wing, or opening wide the mouth and chirping."

¹⁴ And the remainder becomes as a gazelle running away, and as a flock straying with no one to get it together. Each man toward his people shall face, and each man to his land shall flee." ¹⁵ Everyone found shall be stabbed, and everyone gathered up shall fall by the sword." ¹⁶ And their children shall be dashed to pieces before their eyes. Their houses shall be rifled, and their wives ravished." ¹⁷ Behold Me rousing against them the Medes, who are not accounting silver, and gold--they are not delighting in it." ¹⁸ And with bows they are dashing the youths to pieces, and on the fruit of the belly they are not having compassion. And over the sons their eye is not commiserating."

¹ LOAD OF THE WILDERNESSES As sweeping whirlwinds in the south rim pass on, from the wilderness coming, from a fearful land, ² a hard vision is told to me; the treacherous one is treacherous, and the devastator is devastating. Against me is Elam! And against me the agents of Media are coming! Now all sighing through it I cause to cease." ³ Therefore my waist is full with sore travail, and throes hold me as the throes of a bearing woman. I am depraved from hearing, flustered from seeing it." ⁴ My heart has strayed; shuddering frightens me. The soul to which I am attached brings me into trembling. ⁵ Arrange the table! Watch, yea, watch! Eat! Drink! Rise, chiefs! Anoint the shield!" ⁶ For thus says my Lord to me, "Go! Install the watchman. What he shall see, he shall tell." ⁷ For he may see a chariot, a pair of men, horsemen, a rider on an ass, a rider on a camel.And he attends attentively with much attention." ⁸ And he is calling, "I am seeing on the watch, my lord! I am standing continually by day, and I am stationed on my charge all the nights." ⁹ And behold this! Coming is a chariot with men, a pair of horsemen! And he is responding and saying, `Fallen! Fallen is Babylon! And all the carvings and her forbidden idols are broken to the earth.'" ¹⁰ My threshed people! And the son of my threshing site! What I hear from Yahweh of hosts, the Elohim of Israel, I tell to you."

¹ Woe, you devastator, and you were not devastated! And you treacherous one, and they were not treacherous against you! As you come to an end with devastation, you shall be devastated. As you finish with treachery, they will be treacherous against you."

¹⁰ Telling from the beginning, the hereafter, and from aforetime, what has not yet been done. Saying, `All My counsel shall be confirmed, and all My desire will I do.'" ¹¹ Calling from the sunrise, a bird of prey, from a land far off, the man of My counsel. Indeed, I speak! Indeed, I will bring it about! I formed. Indeed, I will do it."

¹ Down! And sit on the soil, virgin daughter of Babylon! Sit on the earth, not on a throne, daughter of the Chaldeans! For no more shall they call you, `tender and delicate.'" <sup>2</sup> Take a millstone and grind meal. Expose your draped form! Bare your skirt! Expose the leg! Pass over the streams! <sup>3</sup> Exposed shall be your nakedness! Moreover, apparent shall be your reproach! I will take vengeance on you, <sup>4</sup> and I will not interpose a human!says our Redeemer. Yahweh of hosts is His name, the Holy One of Israel." <sup>5</sup> Sit still, and come into darkness, daughter of the Chaldeans, for no more shall they call you, `Mistress of the kingdoms.'" ⁶ I was wroth over My people, and I violated My allotment, and was giving them into your hand, yet you show them no compassion. On the old you make your yoke exceedingly heavy." ⁷ Yet you are saying, `For an eon will I be mistress still!' You do not lay these things to heart; you are not mindful of your hereafter." <sup>8</sup> And now, hear this, luxuriant one, dwelling trustingly, who is saying in her heart, `I, and only I, further! I shall not sit, a widow, nor see bereavement.'" ⁹ Yet now these two shall come to you in a moment; in one day, bereavement and widowhood, suddenly they shall come on you in your many enchantments, in the staunchness of your magic charms, exceedingly." ¹⁰ And you are trusting in your knowledge. You are saying, `No one is seeing me.' Your wisdom and your knowledge, it turns you back. And you are saying in your heart, `I, and only I, further!'" ¹¹ And evil comes on you. And you are not knowing of the pitfall. And woe shall fall on you. You cannot shelter yourself from it. And coming on you is devastation, and you cannot become clear. And coming on you suddenly is futility, when you shall not know it." ¹² Then stand, pray, by your magic charms, and by your many enchantments, with which you were acquainted from your youth until today. Perhaps you can benefit! Perhaps you will be staunch!" ¹³ You are tired with your many counsels. Standing, pray, are they, and saving you are the astrologers, the seers of visions in the stars, the informers for new moons, from the things which are coming on you? ¹⁴ Behold! They all become as straw. Fire shall burn them up. They shall not rescue their soul from the hand of the blaze. It is no ember to warm them, or light to sit in front of." ¹⁵ So they become to you, those with whom you labored, your merchants from your youth. Each man strays to his passage. No saviour is yours."

⁹ Lo, I am sending, and have taken all the families of the north--an affirmation of Yahweh--even unto Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, My servant, and have brought them in against this land, and against its inhabitants, and against all these nations round about, and have devoted them, and appointed them for an astonishment, and for a hissing, and for wastes eonian."

²⁶ And all the kings of the north, The near and the far off, one unto another, And all the kingdoms of the earth, That [are] on the face of the ground, And king Sheshach drinks after them."

³¹ Lo, I [am] against you, O pride, An affirmation of the Lord Yahweh of Hosts, For your day has come, the time of your inspection."

³⁵ All abiding on the earth are reckoned as naught:According to His will is He doing in the army of the heavens and with those abiding on the earth. And no one will actually clap with his hands and say to Him, "What doest Thou?

¹⁹ Then I would know the certainty concerning the fourth animal that is diverse from them all, redundantly terrifying:Her teeth of iron, her claws of copper; devouring, pulverizing and stamping upon the remainder with her feet;" ²⁰ and concerning the ten horns that are on her head; and concerning another horn that comes up and the three before it fall, even the same horn with its eyes and a mouth declaring monstrous things, and the vision of it is larger than its partners." ²¹ Perceiving am I and the same horn is making an attack on the saints and is prevailing against them,

¹³ For the judging is merciless to him who does not exercise mercy. Vaunting is mercy against judging.

¹⁶ And the ten horns which you perceived, and the wild beast, these will be hating the prostitute, and they will be making her desolate and naked, and they will be eating her flesh, and they will be burning her up with fire, ¹⁷ for God imparts to their hearts to form His opinion, and to form one opinion, and to give their kingdom to the wild beast, until the words of God shall be accomplished."

⁸ Therefore in one day shall her calamities be arriving; death and mourning and famine. And she shall be burned up with fire, for strong is the Lord God Who judges her." ⁹ And the kings of the earth, who commit prostitution and indulge with her, will be lamenting and grieving over her whenever they may be observing the smoke of her conflagration, ¹⁰ standing afar off because of the fear of her torment, saying, 'Woe! Woe! that great city! Babylon, the strong city! for in one hour your judging came.'"
