⁶ And fruitful I cause you to be exceedingly exceedingly. And I make of you nations, and kings from you shall fare forth.

⁴ And speaking with him is the Elohim, saying, "I, behold! My covenant is with you. And you are to become the forefather of a throng of nations.

¹⁶ And I bless her, and, moreover, I give you a son of her. And bless him will I and he comes to be for nations, and kings of peoples shall come from him.

²⁰ And as to Ishmael, behold! I hear you. Behold! Bless him do I, and fruitful do I make him, and increase him exceedingly exceedingly. Twelve princes shall he beget, and I make of him a great nation.

¹¹ And saying to him is the Elohim, "I am the El-Who-Suffices. Be fruitful and increase. A nation and an assembly of nations shall come from you, and kings from your loins shall fare forth.

³¹ And these are the kings who reigned in the land of Edom, before a king reigned for the sons of Israel. ³² And reigning in Edom is Bela, son of Beor. And the name of his city is Dinhabah. ³³ And Bela died. And reigning in his stead is Jobab, son of Zerah, from Bozrah. ³⁴ And Jobab died. And reigning in his stead is Husham from the land of the Temanites. ³⁵ And Husham died. And reigning in his stead is Hadad, son of Bedad who smote Midian in the field of Moab. And the name of his city is Avith. ³⁶ And Hadad died. And reigning in his stead is Samlah from Masrekah. ³⁷ And Samlah died. And reigning in his stead is Saul from Rehoboth by the stream. ³⁸ And Saul died. And reigning in his stead is Baalhanan, son of Achbor. ³⁹ And Baalhanan, son of Achbor, died. And reigning in his stead is Hadad, son of Bered. And the name of his city is Pau. And the name of his wife is Mehetabel, daughter of Matred, son of Mezahab. ⁴⁰ And these are the names of the sheiks of Esau, their families, for their places in their lands, by their names: sheik Timno, sheik Alvah, sheik Jetheth, ⁴¹ sheik Aholibamah, sheik Elah, sheik Pinon, ⁴² sheik Kenaz, sheik Teman, sheik Mibzar, ⁴³ sheik Magdiel, sheik Iram. These are the sheiks of Edom, for their dwelling places, in the land of their freehold. He is Esau, father of Edom.

²⁰ There were mighty kings over Jerusalem with authority over the whole province Beyond-the-Stream; and tribute, tax and toll were granted to them.

Now David begets Solomon of the wife of Uriah; ⁷ now Solomon begets Rehoboam; now Rehoboam begets Abiah; now Abiah begets Asaph; ⁸ now Asaph begets Joshaphat; now Joshaphat begets Jehoram; now Jehoram begets Uzziah; ⁹ now Uzziah begets Jotham; now Jotham begets Ahaz; now Ahaz begets Hezekiah; ¹⁰ now Hezekiah begets Manasseh; now Manasseh begets Amos; now Amos begets Josiah; ¹¹ now Josiah begets Jeconiah and his brothers at the Babylonian exile. ¹² Now after the Babylonian exile Jeconiah begets Shalthiel; now Shalthiel begets Zerubbabel; ¹³ now Zerubbabel begets Abihud; now Abihud begets Eliakim; now Eliakim begets Azor; ¹⁴ now Azor begets Zadok; now Zadok begets Achim; now Achim begets Eliud; ¹⁵ now Eliud begets Eleazar; now Eleazar begets Matthan; now Matthan begets Jacob; ¹⁶ now Jacob begets Joseph, the husband of Mary of whom was born Jesus, Who is termed "Christ." ¹⁷ Then all the generations from Abraham till David are fourteen generations, and from David till the Babylonian exile are fourteen generations, and from the Babylonian exile till the Christ are fourteen generations.
