⁴⁸ then you will serve your enemies whom Yahweh shall send forth against you, in famine and in thirst, in nakedness and in lack of everything. He will put an iron yoke on your neck until He has exterminated you.

⁸ but they become servants to him, and they know My service, and the service of the kingdoms of the lands..

³⁵ and they, in their kingdom, and in Your abundant goodness, that You have given to them, and in the land, the large and the fat, that You have set before them, have not served You, nor turned back from their evil doings. ³⁶ `Lo, we--to-day--[are] servants, and the land that You have given to our fathers, to eat its fruit and its good--lo, we [are] servants on it, ³⁷ and its increase it is multiplying to the kings whom You have set over us in our sins; and over our bodies they are ruling, and over our cattle, according to their pleasure, and we [are] in great distress.

⁶ I was wroth over My people, and I violated My allotment, and was giving them into your hand, yet you show them no compassion. On the old you make your yoke exceedingly heavy."

¹⁹ And it has come to pass, when you say, `For what has Yahweh our Elohim done to us all these?' That you have said unto them, `As you have forsaken Me, And serve the elohims of a foreigner in your land, So do you serve strangers in a land not yours."

⁴ And you have let go--even through yourself, Of your inheritance that I gave to you, And I have caused you to serve your enemies, In a land that you have not known, For a fire you have kindled in Mine anger, Unto the eon it does burn."

¹² And unto Zedekiah king of Judah I have spoken according to all these words, saying, `Cause your necks to enter into the yoke of the king of Babylon, and serve him and his people, and live." ¹³ Why do you die, you and your people, by sword, by famine, and by pestilence, as Yahweh has spoken concerning the nation that does not serve the king of Babylon?

¹³ `Go, and you have spoken unto Hananiah, saying, Thus said Yahweh, Yokes of wood you have broken, and I have made instead of them yokes of iron;" ¹⁴ For thus said Yahweh of Hosts, Elohim of Israel, A yoke of iron I have put on the neck of all these nations to serve Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and they have served him, and also the beast of the field I have given to him.'"

¹⁷ for we certainly do everything that has gone out of our mouth, to make perfume to the queen of the heavens, and to pour out to her libations, as we have done, we, and our fathers, our kings, and our heads, in cities of Judah, and in streets of Jerusalem, and--we are satisfied with bread, and we are well, and evil we have not seen." ¹⁸ `And from the time we have ceased to make perfume to the queen of the heavens, and to pour out to her libations, we have lacked all, and by sword and by famine we have been consumed,

²² And Yahweh is not able any more to accept [you], because of the evil of your doings, because of the abominations that you have done, and your land is for a waste, and for an astonishment, and for a reviling, without inhabitant, as [at] this day."

²⁷ Lo, I am watching over them for evil, and not for good, and consumed have been all the men of Judah who [are] in the land of Egypt, by sword and by famine, till their consumption."

² Our allotment is turned over to aliens, our houses to foreigners." ³ We have become orphans without a father; our mothers are like widows. ⁴ Our own water we drink for money; our wood comes with a price. ⁵ With a yoke on our neck, we are pursued; we are weary, and there is no rest for us." ⁶ We give the hand to Egypt and Assyria in order to be satisfied with bread.

¹⁶ And He said unto me, `Son of man, lo, I am breaking the staff of bread in Jerusalem, and they have eaten bread by weight and with fear; and water by measure and with astonishment, they do drink;" ¹⁷ so that they lack bread and water, and have been astonished one with another, and been consumed in their iniquity."

³ and you have said:Thus said the Lord Yahweh:The great eagle, great-winged, long-pinioned, Full of feathers, that has diverse colors, Has come in unto Lebanon, And it takes the foliage of the cedar,

⁷ And there is another great eagle, Great-winged, and abounding with feathers, And lo, this vine has bent its roots toward him, And its thin shoots it has sent out toward him, To water it from the furrows of its planting,

¹² `Say, I pray you, to the rebellious house, Have you not known what these [are]? Say, Lo, come has the king of Babylon to Jerusalem, And he takes its king, and its princes, And brings them to himself to Babylon."

²⁹ Lift My yoke upon you and be learning from Me, for meek am I and humble in heart, and you shall be finding rest in your souls,
