⁵ And the sons of Rimmon the Beerothite, Rechab and Baanah, go, and come in at the heat of the day unto the house of Ish-Bosheth, and he is lying down--the lying down of noon;"

⁸ And Abner, son of Ner, head of the host which Saul has, has taken Ish-Bosheth, son of Saul, and causes him to pass over to Mahanaim,

² and it comes to pass, at evening-time, that David rises from off his couch, and walks up and down on the roof of the king's house, and sees from the roof a woman bathing, and the woman [is] of very good appearance,

⁹ and conspire against him does his servant Zimri (head of the half of the chariots) and he [is] in Tirzah drinking--a drunkard in the house of Arza, who [is] over the house in Tirzah.

²⁵ And in their going from him--for they left him with many diseases--his servants themselves have conspired against him, for the blood of the sons of Jehoiada the priest, and slay him on his bed, and he dies; and they bury him in the city of David, and have not buried him in the graves of the kings.

²⁷ And from the time that Amaziah has turned aside from after Yahweh--they make a conspiracy against him in Jerusalem, and he flees to Lachish, and they send after him to Lachish, and put him to death there,

²⁴ And his servants conspire against him, and put him to death in his own house,

³³ A little sleep, a little slumber, A little folding of the hands, to lie at rest, ³⁴ And your destitution will come like a wayfarer, And your lack like a man with a shield."

³ Now whenever they may be saying "Peace and security,then extermination is standing by them unawares, even as a pang over the pregnant, and they may by no means escape." ⁴ Now you, brethren, are not in darkness, that the day may be overtaking you as a thief, ⁵ for you are all sons of the light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of the darkness. ⁶ Consequently, then, we may not be drowsing, even as the rest, but we may be watching and be sober." ⁷ For those who are drowsing are drowsing at night, and those who are drunk are drunk at night."
