⁸ And speaking is Abraham with them, saying, "Should it forsooth, please your soul to entomb my dead from my face, hear me, and intercede for me with Ephron, the son of Zohar, the Hittite, ⁹ that he shall give to me the double cave which is his, which is at the end of his field. For silver, in full, shall he give it to me for a holding for a tomb in your midst. ¹⁰ And Ephron is sitting in the midst of the sons of Heth. And answering is Ephron, the Hittite, Abraham in the ears of the sons of Heth, to all entering the gateway of his city, saying, ¹¹ No, my lord! Hear me! The field I give to you. And the cave which is in it, to you I give it. Before the eyes of the sons of all my people I give it to you. Entomb your dead. ¹² And bowing down is Abraham before the people of the land. ¹³ And speaking is he to Ephron in the ears of the people of the land, saying, "Yea, should you be for me, hear me! Give will I silver for the field. Take it from me and I will entomb my dead there. ¹⁴ And answering is Ephron Abraham, saying, ¹⁵ No lord! Hear me. The land is four hundred shekels of silver. What is that between me and you? Your dead entomb. ¹⁶ And hearkening is Abraham to Ephron. And weighing is Abraham for Ephron the silver of which he spoke in the ears of the sons of Heth, for hundred shekels of silver, passing with the merchant.

⁴⁴ Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying. ⁴⁵ Get away from the midst of this congregation so that I may finish them in a moment. Then they fell on their faces. ⁴⁶ Moses said to Aaron:Take the fire-pan and put fire from the altar on it and place incense on it and go quickly to the congregation and make a propitiatory shelter over them, for wrath goes forth from before Yahweh! The stroke has started!" ⁴⁷ So Aaron took it, just as Moses had spoken, and ran into the midst of the assembly. And behold, the stroke had started among the people. He put the incense on and make a propitiatory shelter over the people. ⁴⁸ He stood between the dead and the living, and the stroke was restrained. ⁴⁹ Now those dead by the stroke were fourteen thousand seven hundred, aside from those dead over the matter of Korah. ⁵⁰ Then Aaron returned to Moses at the opening of the tent of appointment; as for the stroke, it was restrained.

⁸ He came after the man of Israel to the alcove and stabbed the two of them, the man of Israel and the woman, into her pelvis. Then the stroke was restrained from the sons of Israel.

And the king said, `I do give;. ⁷ and the king has pity on Mephibosheth son of Jonathan, son of Saul, because of the oath of Yahweh that [is] between them, between David and Jonathan son of Saul;" ⁸ and the king takes the two sons of Rizpah daughter of Aiah, whom she bore to Saul, Armoni and Mephibosheth, and the five sons of Michal daughter of Saul whom she bare to Adriel son of Barzillai the Meholathite, ⁹ and gives them into the hand of the Gibeonites, and they hang them in the hill before Yahweh; and the seven fall together, and they have been put to death in the days of harvest, in the first [days], the commencement of barley-harvest. ¹⁰ And Rizpah daughter of Aiah takes the sackcloth, and stretches it out for herself on the rock, from the commencement of harvest till water has been poured out upon them from the heavens, and has not suffered a fowl of the heavens to rest upon them by day, or the beast of the field by night. ¹¹ And it is declared to David that which Rizpah daughter of Aiah, concubine of Saul, has done, ¹² and David goes and takes the bones of Saul, and the bones of Jonathan his son, from the possessors of Jabesh-Gilead, who had stolen them from the broad place of Beth-Shan, where the Philistines hanged them, in the day of the Philistines smiting Saul in Gilboa;" ¹³ and he brings up thence the bones of Saul, and the bones of Jonathan his son, and they gather the bones of those hanged, ¹⁴ and bury the bones of Saul and of Jonathan his son in the land of Benjamin, in Zelah, in the burying-place of Kish his father, and do all that the king commanded, and Elohim is entreated for the land afterwards.

³ And Joab said unto the king, `Yea, Yahweh your Elohim does add unto the people, as they are, a hundred times, and the eyes of my lord the king are seeing; and my lord the king, why is he desirous of this thing?.

¹⁸ And Gad comes in unto David on that day, and said to him, `Go up, raise to Yahweh an altar in the threshing-floor of Araunah the Jebusite;.

²² And David said unto Ornan, `Give to me the place of the threshing-floor, and I build in it an altar to Yahweh; for full silver give it to me, and the plague is restrained from the people..

³⁰ But Phinehas stood up and mediated, And the stroke was restrained."

⁶ And Jeremiah said, `A word of Yahweh has been unto me saying, <sup>7</sup> Lo, Hanameel son of Shallum, your uncle, is coming unto you, saying, Buy for you my field that [is] in Anathoth, for your [is] the right of redemption--to buy." <sup>8</sup> And Hanameel, my uncle's son, comes in unto me, according to the word of Yahweh, unto the court of the prison, and said unto me, `Buy, I pray you, my field that [is] in Anathoth, that [is] in the land of Benjamin, for your [is] the right of possession, and your of redemption--buy for you.' And I know that it [is] the word of Yahweh, ⁹ And I buy the field, that [is] in Anathoth, from Hanameel, my uncle's son, and I weigh to him the money--seventeen shekels of silver." ¹⁰ And I write in a book, and seal, and cause witnesses to testify, and weigh the silver in balances;" ¹¹ And I take the purchase-book, the sealed one, according to law and custom, and the open one." ¹² And I give the purchase-book unto Baruch son of Neriah, son of Maaseiah, before the eyes of Hanameel, my uncle's son, and before the eyes of the witnesses, those writing in the purchase-book, before the eyes of all the Jews who are sitting in the court of the prison." ¹³ And I charge Baruch before their eyes, saying, ¹⁴ `Thus said Yahweh of Hosts, Elohim of Israel, Take these books, this purchase-book, both the sealed one and the open one, and you have put them in an earthen vessel, that they may remain many days;"
