¹³ `Go, seek Yahweh for me, and for the people, and for all Judah, concerning the words of this book that is found, for great [is] the fury of Yahweh that is kindled against us, because that our fathers have not hearkened unto the words of this book, to do according to all that is written for us..

⁵ You shall not bow yourself down to them, nor be made to serve them, for I, Yahweh your Elohim, am a jealous El, visiting the depravity of the fathers on the sons, on the third and on the fourth generation, to those hating Me,

²³ Guard yourselves lest you forget the covenant of Yahweh your Elohim that He contracted with you, and so you make for yourselves a carving, a physical representation of anything, against which Yahweh your Elohim had instructed you;" ²⁴ for Yahweh your Elohim, He is a devouring fire, a jealous El. ²⁵ When you beget sons and sons of sons, and find repose in the land and then become corrupt and make a carving, a physical representation of anything, and do evil in the eyes of Yahweh your Elohim so as to provoke Him to vexatio. ²⁶ I testify against you today by the heavens and the earth, that you shall perish, yea perish quickly off the land where you are crossing over the Jordan to tenant it. You shall not prolong your days on it, for you shall be exterminated, yea exterminated. ²⁷ Yahweh will cause you to scatter among the peoples, and you will remain adult males of a small number among the nations where Yahweh shall lead you.

²³ its whole land a burnt waste of sulfur and salt; it shall not be sown, neither shall it sprout, nor shall any herbage ascend in it, like the overturning of Sodom and Gomorrah, Admah and Zeboiim, which Yahweh overturned in His anger and in His fury-. ²⁴ hence all the nations will ask:Why did Yahweh do thus to this land? Why the heat of this great anger? ²⁵ Then some will answer:Because they forsook the covenant of Yahweh Elohim of their fathers, that He had contracted with them when He brought them forth from the country of Egypt, ²⁶ for they went off and served other elohim and bowed themselves down to them, elohim whom they had neither known, nor had He apportioned for them. ²⁷ Hence the anger of Yahweh grew hot against that land so as to bring upon it all the malediction that is written in this scroll. ²⁸ So Yahweh plucked them up off their ground in anger, in fury and in great wrath, and He flung them into another country as it is this day.

¹⁷ My anger will grow hot against them on that day, and I will forsake them and conceal My face from them; then they will come to be devoured, and many evils and distresses will find them. Then they will say on that day:Is it not because our Elohim is not among us that these evils have found us? ¹⁸ Yet I shall conceal, yea conceal My face from them on that day on account of all the evil which they will have done, for they will have turned around to other elohim.

⁷ And Jehoshaphat said, `Is there not here a prophet of Yahweh besides, and we seek by him?. <sup>8</sup> And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, `Yet--one man to seek Yahweh by him, and I have hated him, for he does not prophesy concerning me good, but evil--Micaiah son of Imlah;' and Jehoshaphat said, `Let not the king say so..

¹¹ And Jehoshaphat said, `Is there not here a prophet of Yahweh, and we seek Yahweh by him?' And one of the servants of the king of Israel answers and said, `Here [is] Elisha son of Shaphat, who poured water on the hands of Elijah..

¹³ And Saul dies because of his trespass that he trespassed against Yahweh, against the word of Yahweh that he kept not, and also for asking at a familiar spirit--to inquire, -. ¹⁴ and he inquired not at Yahweh, and He puts him to death, and turns round the kingdom to David son of Jesse.

⁶ for our fathers have trespassed, and done that which is evil in the eyes of Yahweh our Elohim, and forsake him, and turn round their faces from the tabernacle of Yahweh, and give the neck.

²¹ `Go, seek Yahweh for me, and for him who is left in Israel and in Judah, concerning the words of the book that is found, for great [is] the fury of Yahweh that is poured on us, because that our fathers kept not the word of Yahweh, to do according to all that is written on this book..

⁸ and they read in the book, in the law of Elohim, explaining--so as to give the meaning, and they give understanding to the convocation. ⁹ And Nehemiah--he [is] the Tirshatha--said (and Ezra the priest, the scribe, and the Levites who are instructing the people) to all the people, `To-day is holy to Yahweh your Elohim, do not mourn, nor weep:' for all the people are weeping at their hearing the words of the law.

³ and rise up on their station, and read in the book of the law of Yahweh their Elohim a fourth of the day, and a fourth they are confessing and bowing themselves to Yahweh their Elohim.

¹⁴ The intimacy of Yahweh is for those fearing Him, And His covenant, to give them knowledge."

⁷ You, indeed You are fear inspiring, And who may stand before You from the strength of Your anger?

⁶ We have sinned with our fathers; We have sown depravity; We have acted wickedly.

⁶ In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He Himself shall straighten your paths."

¹² You also have done evil above your fathers, And lo, you are walking each after the stubbornness of his evil heart, So as not to hearken unto Me."

¹ The word that has been unto Jeremiah from Yahweh, in the king Zedekiah's sending unto him Pashhur son of Malchiah, and Zephaniah son of Maaseiah the priest, saying, ² `Inquire, we pray you, for us at Yahweh, for Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon has fought against us; perhaps Yahweh does deal with us according to all His wonders, and does cause him to go up from off us.'"

¹⁷ and the king Zedekiah sends, and takes him, and the king asks him in his house in secret, and said, `Is there a word from Yahweh?' And Jeremiah said, `There is,' and he said, `Into the hand of the king of Babylon you are given.'"

¹⁷ for we certainly do everything that has gone out of our mouth, to make perfume to the queen of the heavens, and to pour out to her libations, as we have done, we, and our fathers, our kings, and our heads, in cities of Judah, and in streets of Jerusalem, and--we are satisfied with bread, and we are well, and evil we have not seen."

⁷ Our fathers sinned and are no more, and we ourselves are burdened with their depravities."

³ `Son of man, these men have caused their idols to go up on their heart, and the stumbling-block of their iniquity they have put over-against their faces; am I inquired of at all by them? <sup>4</sup> `Therefore, speak with them, and you have said unto them:Thus said the Lord Yahweh:Every one of the house of Israel who causes his idols to go up unto his heart, and the stumbling-block of his iniquity sets over-against his face, and has gone in unto the prophet--I Yahweh have given an answer to him for this, for the abundance of his idols,

¹ And it comes to pass, in the seventh year, in the fifth [month], in the tenth of the month, come in have certain of the elders of Israel to seek Yahweh, and they sit before me;" ² and there is a word of Yahweh unto me, saying, ³ `Son of man, speak with the elders of Israel, and you have said unto them, Thus said the Lord Yahweh:To seek Me are you coming in? I live--I am not sought by you--an affirmation of the Lord Yahweh."

⁵ We sin and we are depraved, we do wickedly and revolt, we withdraw from Thy instructions and from Thy judgments." ⁶ We do not hearken to Thy servants the prophets, who speak in Thy name to our kings, our chiefs, our forefathers and to all the people of the land." ⁷ To Thee, my Lord, is righteousness, yet to us is shamefacedness as at this day:To each man of Judah, to the dwellers of Jerusalem, to all the people of Israel, the near and the far, in all the lands where Thou hast expelled them for their offense with which they offend Thee." ⁸ To Thee, Yahweh, is righteousness, yet to us is shamefacedness:To our kings, to our chiefs, to our forefathers, who sin against Thee."

¹⁰ We do not hearken to the voice of Yahweh our Elohim, to go in His laws which He sets before us by the hand of His servants the prophets."

⁷ For my Lord Yahweh is not doing a thing save He reveals His deliberation to His servants, the prophets."

⁶ Before His menace, who will stand? And who will rise in the heat of His anger? His fury is poured forth as fire, and the rocks are broken down because of Him."

²⁰ because, by works of law, no flesh at all shall be justified in His sight, for through law is the recognition of sin."

¹⁵ for the law is producing indignation. Now where no law is, neither is there transgression."

⁹ Now I lived, apart from law, once, yet at the coming of the precept Sin revives. Yet I died,

²² Now become doers of the word, and not only listeners, beguiling yourselves." ²³ For if anyone is a listener to the word and not a doer, this one simulates a man considering the face he inherited in a mirror;" ²⁴ for he considers himself and has come away, and immediately forgot what kind he was." ²⁵ Now he who peers into the perfect law, that of freedom, and abides, not becoming a forgetful listener, but a doer of the work, this one will be happy in his doing."

¹⁷ for the great day of Their indignation came, and who is able to stand?
