¹ And Solomon begins to build the house of Yahweh, in Jerusalem, in the mount of Moriah, where He appeared to David his father, in the place that David had prepared, in the threshing-floor of Ornan the Jebusite, ² and he begins to build in the second [day], in the second month, in the fourth year of his reign. ³ And [in] these has Solomon been instructed to build the house of Elohim:The length [in] cubits by the former measure [is] sixty cubits, and the breadth twenty cubits. ⁴ As to the porch that [is] on the front, the length [is] by the front of the breadth of the house, twenty cubits, and the height a hundred and twenty, and he overlays it within with pure gold. ⁵ And the large house he has covered with fir-trees, and he does cover it with good gold, and causes to ascend on it palms and chains, ⁶ and he overlays the house with precious stone for beauty, and the gold [is] gold of Parvaim, ⁷ and he covers the house, the beams, the thresholds, and its walls, and its doors, with gold, and has graved cherubs on the walls. ⁸ And he makes the most holy house:its length [is] by the front of the breadth of the house twenty cubits, and its breadth twenty cubits, and he covers it with good gold, to six hundred talents;" ⁹ and the weight of the nails [is] fifty shekels of gold, and the upper chambers he has covered with gold. ¹⁰ And he makes in the most holy house two cherubs, image work, and he overlays them with gold;" ¹¹ as to the wings of the cherubs, their length [is] twenty cubits, the wing of the one [is] five cubits, touching the wall of the house, and the other wing [is] five cubits, touching the wing of the other cherub. ¹² And the wing of the other cherub [is] five cubits touching the wall of the house, and the other wing [is] five cubits, adhering to the wing of the other cherub. ¹³ The wings of these cherubs are spreading forth twenty cubits, and they are standing on their feet and their faces [are] inward. ¹⁴ And he makes the vail of blue, and purple, and crimson, and fine linen, and causes cherubs to go up on it. ¹⁵ And he makes at the front of the house two pillars, thirty and five cubits in length, and the ornament that [is] on their heads five cubits. ¹⁶ And he makes chains in the oracle, and puts on the heads of the pillars, and makes a hundred pomegranates, and puts on the chains. ¹⁷ And he raises up the pillars on the front of the temple, one on the right, and one on the left, and calls the name of that on the right Jachin, and the name of that on the left Boaz.

² And saying is He, "Take, pray, your son, your only one, whom you love, Isaac, and go you to the land of Moriah, and offer him up there for an ascent offering on one of the mountains of which I will apprize you.

¹⁴ And calling is Abraham the name of that place Yahweh-jireh, which is being said today, "In the mount of Yahweh it is being seen.

¹⁸ You will make two cherubim of gold; you shall hammer them a stiff shell of one piece with the two ends of the propitiatory shelter.

²⁰ The cherubim will come to be with spreading wings above, overshadowing with their wings over the propitiatory shelter with their faces each to his fellow. Toward the propitiatory shelter the faces of the cherubim shall come to be.

¹ The tabernacle you shall make with ten sheets of corded cambric and blue, purple and double-dipped crimson; with cherubim in the handiwork of a designer shall you make them.

Then you will bring there, inside the curtain, the coffer of the testimony. The curtain will separate for you between the holy place and the holy of holies;"

¹⁸ And Gad comes in unto David on that day, and said to him, `Go up, raise to Yahweh an altar in the threshing-floor of Araunah the Jebusite;. <sup>19</sup> and David goes up, according to the word of Gad, as Yahweh commanded. <sup>20</sup> And Araunah looks, and sees the king and his servants passing over unto him, and Araunah goes out and bows himself to the king--his face to the earth. <sup>21</sup> And Araunah said, `Wherefore has my lord the king come unto his servant?' and David said, `To buy from you the threshing-floor, to build an altar to Yahweh, and the plague is restrained from the people.. <sup>22</sup> And Araunah said unto David, `Let my lord the king take and cause to ascend that which is good in his eyes; see, the oxen for a burnt-offering, and the threshing instruments, and the instruments of the oxen, for wood;. ²³ the whole has Araunah given, [as] a king to a king; and Araunah said unto the king, `Yahweh your Elohim does accept you.. <sup>24</sup> And the king said unto Araunah, `Nay, for I do surely buy from you for a price, and I do not cause to ascend to Yahweh my Elohim burnt-offerings for nought;' and David buys the threshing-floor and the oxen for fifty shekels of silver, ²⁵ and David builds there an altar to Yahweh, and causes to ascend burnt-offerings and peace-offerings, and Yahweh is entreated for the land, and the plague is restrained from Israel.

¹⁵ And he forms the two pillars of brass; eighteen cubits [is] the height of the one pillar, and a cord of twelve cubits does compass the second pillar. ¹⁶ And two chapiters he has made to put on the tops of the pillars, cast in brass; five cubits the height of the one chapiter, and five cubits the height of the second chapiter. ¹⁷ Nets of net-work, wreaths of chain-work [are] for the chapiters that [are] on the top of the pillars, seven for the one chapiter, and seven for the second chapiter. ¹⁸ And he makes the pillars, and two rows round about on the one net-work, to cover the chapiters that [are] on the top, with the pomegranates, and so he has made for the second chapiter. ¹⁹ And the chapiters that [are] on the top of the pillars [are] of lily-work in the porch, four cubits;" ²⁰ and the chapiters on the two pillars also above, over-against the protuberance that [is] beside the net; and the pomegranates [are] two hundred, in rows round about on the second chapiter.

¹⁸ And the messenger of Yahweh spoke unto Gad, saying for David, `Surely David does go up to raise an altar to Yahweh in the threshing-floor of Ornan the Jebusite..

² and with all my power I have prepared for the house of my Elohim, the gold for [things of] gold, and the silver for [those of] silver, and the brass for [those of] brass, the iron for [those of] iron, and the wood for [those of] wood, shoham stones, and settings, and stones of painting and of diverse colors, and all [kinds of] precious stone, and stones of white marble, in abundance.

⁸ and he with whom stones are found has given to the treasury of the house of Yahweh, by the hand of Jehiel the Gershonite.

¹¹ Humbled! Tempest-tossed! Not comforted! Behold! I will cause your stones to be embedded in pigment. And your foundation I lay with sapphires." ¹² And I make of brilliants your sun-slits, and your gates of stones that kindle, and all your boundary with stones delightful."

²⁰ The two pillars, the one sea, and the twelve brazen oxen that [are] beneath the bases, that king Solomon made for the house of Yahweh, there was no weighing of the brass of all these vessels." ²¹ As to the pillars, eighteen cubits [is] the height of the one pillar, and a cord of twelve cubits does compass it, and its thickness [is] four fingers hollow." ²² And the chapiter upon it [is] of brass, and the height of the one chapiter [is] five cubits, and net-work and pomegranates [are] on the chapiter round about, the whole [is] of brass; and like these have the second pillar, and pomegranates." ²³ And the pomegranates are ninety and six on a side, all the pomegranates [are] a hundred on the net-work round about."

²⁰ As to the beauty of his ornament, For excellency He set it, And the images of their abominations, Their detestable things--they made in it, Therefore I have given it to them for impurity,

⁵¹ And lo! the curtain of the temple is rent in two from above to the bottom, and the earth quaked, and the rocks are rent,

²³ And Jesus walked in the sanctuary in the portico of Solomon.

¹¹ Now at his holding himself to Peter and John, the entire people ran together to them at the portico called Solomon's, overawed."

¹² Now through the hands of the apostles many signs and miracles occurred among the people. And they were all, with one accord, in the portico of Solomon."

³ Now after the second curtain is a tabernacle which is termed the holy of holies,

⁹ which is a parable for the present period, according to which both approach presents and sacrifices are being offered, which can not make the one offering divine service perfect as to the conscience,

¹⁹ Having then, brethren, boldness for the entrance of the holy places by the blood of Jesus, ²⁰ by a recently slain and living way which He dedicates for us, through the curtain, that is, His flesh,

¹⁸ And the building material in its wall is jasper, and the city is clear gold, like clear glass." ¹⁹ The foundations of the wall of the city are adorned with every precious stone, the first foundation with jasper, the second lapis lazuli, the third chalcedony, the fourth emerald, ²⁰ the fifth sardonyx, the sixth carnelian, the seventh topaz, the eighth beryl, the ninth peridot, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh amethyst, the twelfth garnet." ²¹ And the twelve portals are twelve pearls. Each one of the portals was respectively of one pearl. And the square of the city is gold, clear as translucent glass."
