⁷ What then? Israel has not obtained what it seeks; but the elect have obtained it, and the rest were blinded.

²⁸ For it shall be that when you call upon me, I will not listen to you: wicked men shall seek me, but shall not find me.

¹⁰ For the heart of this people has become dull, and their ears are hard of hearing, and they have closed their eyes; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.

¹⁸ They have no understanding to perceive; for they have been blinded so that they should not see with their eyes, nor perceive with their heart.

¹⁴ And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah, which says: 'Hearing you shall hear and by no means understand, and seeing you shall see and by no means perceive. ¹⁵ For the heart of this people has become dull, and their ears are hard of hearing, and their eyes have closed, lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, lest they should understand with their hearts and turn back, that I should heal them.'

²⁴ Strive to enter through the narrow gate, because many, I say to you, will seek to enter and will not be able.

⁴⁰ "He has blinded their eyes and hardened their hearts, lest they should see with their eyes, lest they should understand with their hearts and turn, and I would heal them."

⁹ What then? Are we any better? Not at all. For we previously charged both Jews and Greeks that they are all under sin.

¹⁵ What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not!

²⁸ And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. ²⁹ Because whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brothers. ³⁰ Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; and whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.

¹⁸ So then He has mercy on whom He wills, and whom He wills He hardens.

²³ and so that He might make known the riches of His glory on the vessels of mercy, which He had prepared beforehand for glory,

³¹ but Israel, pursuing a law of righteousness, did not attain to the law of righteousness. ³² Why? Because they did not seek it by faith, but as it were, by the works of the law. For they stumbled the stone of stumbling.

³ For they, being ignorant of the righteousness of God, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.

⁵ Even so then, at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.

²⁵ For I do not desire you to be ignorant, brothers, of this mystery, lest you be wise in your own opinion, that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in.

¹⁹ What am I saying then? That an idol is anything, or what is offered to idols is anything?

¹⁴ But their minds were blinded. For until this day the same veil remains unlifted in the reading of the Old Testament, because the veil is removed in Christ.

⁴ among whom the god of this age has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, so that the illumination of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should not shine on them.

⁴ just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before Him in love,

¹⁸ What then? Nevertheless in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is proclaimed; and in this I rejoice, yet also I will rejoice.

¹⁰ and in all deception of unrighteousness among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. ¹¹ And because of this, God will send them strong delusion, in order for them to believe the lie, ¹² so that they all might be damned who did not believe the truth, but delighted in unrighteousness. ¹³ But we are obligated to give thanks to God always for you, brothers beloved by the Lord, because God chose you from the beginning for salvation, through sanctification of the Spirit and belief in the truth, ¹⁴ to which He called you through our gospel, for the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

¹⁷ For you know that indeed afterward, wishing to inherit the blessing, he was rejected, for he found no place for repentance, having sought it out diligently with tears.

² according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in sanctification of the Spirit, for obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace to you and peace be multiplied.
