²⁵ Let your father and your mother rejoice over you, and let her that bore you be glad.

⁹ Now Jabez was more famous than his brethren; and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, I have born him as a sorrowful one. ¹⁰ And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, O that You would indeed bless me, and enlarge my coasts, and that Your hand might be with me, and that You would make me know that You will not grieve me! And God granted him all that he asked.

²⁵ A foolish son is a cause of anger to his father, and grief to her that bore him.

⁵⁸ And when her neighbors and relatives heard how the Lord had shown great mercy to her, they rejoiced with her.

²⁷ And it happened, while He spoke these things, that a certain woman from the crowd raised her voice and said to Him, "Blessed is the womb which bore You, and the breasts which nursed You!" ²⁸ But He said, "More than that, blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it!"
