¹⁹ The avenger of blood himself shall slay the murderer: whenever he shall meet him, he shall put him to death.

¹² And the cities shall be to you places of refuge from the avenger of blood, and the manslayer shall not die until he stands before the congregation for judgment.

²¹ or if he has stricken him with his hand through anger, and the man should die, let the man that struck him be put to death by all means, he is a murderer: let the murderer by all means be put to death; the avenger of blood shall slay the murderer when he meets him.

²⁴ then the assembly shall judge between the smiter and the avenger of blood, according to these judgments.

²⁷ and the avenger of blood should find him outside the bounds of the city of his refuge, and the avenger of blood should kill the manslayer, he is not guilty.

⁶ Lest the avenger of blood pursue after the manslayer, because his heart is hot, and overtake him, if the way be too long, and kill him, though there is to this man no sentence of death, because he did not hate him in times past.

¹² then shall the elders of his city send, and take him from there, and they shall deliver him into the hands of the avengers of blood, and he shall die.

³ Even a refuge to the manslayer who has killed a man unintentionally; and the cities shall be to you a refuge, and the manslayer shall not be put to death by the avenger of blood, until he has stood before the congregation for judgment.
