³ And the king's proportion out of his substance was appointed for the whole burnt offerings, the morning and the evening offering, and the whole burnt offerings for the Sabbaths, and for the new moons, and for the feasts that were ordered in the Law of the Lord.

⁴ And they kept the Feast of Tabernacles, according to that which was written, and offered whole burnt offerings daily, in number according to the ordinance, the exact daily rate. ⁵ And after this the perpetual whole burnt offering, and offering for the season of new moon, and for all the hallowed feasts to the Lord, and for everyone that offered a freewill offering to the Lord. ⁶ On the first day of the seventh month they began to offer whole burnt offerings to the Lord, but the foundation of the house of the Lord was not laid.

²¹ And I proclaimed there a fast, at the River Ahava, that we should humble ourselves before our God, to seek from Him the right way for us, and for our children, and for all our property.

⁷³ And the priests, and Levites, and porters, and singers, and some of the people, and the Nethinim, and all Israel, dwelt in their cities.

¹⁴ And they found written in the law which the Lord commanded Moses, that the children of Israel should dwell in booths, in the feast in the seventh month,

¹⁸ And Ezra read in the Book of the Law of God daily, from the first day even to the last day; and they kept the feast seven days; and on the eighth day was a solemn assembly, according to the ordinance.

³³ the showbread, and the continual grain offering, and for the continual whole burnt offering, of the Sabbaths, of the new moon, for the feast, and for the holy things, and the sin offerings, to make atonement for Israel, and for the works of the house of our God.

⁴ Their weaknesses have been multiplied; afterward they hastened. I will by no means assemble their bloody meetings, neither will I make mention of their names with my lips.

¹³ But I, when they troubled me, put on sackcloth, and humbled my soul with fasting; and my prayer shall return to my own bosom.

⁶ Sacrifice and offering You did not desire; but a body You have prepared for me; whole burnt offering and sacrifice for sin You did not require.

⁸ I will not reprove you on account of your sacrifices; for your whole burnt offerings are before Me continually. ⁹ I will take no bulls out of your house, nor male goats out of your flocks.

¹⁶ For if You desired sacrifice, I would have given it; You will not take pleasure in whole burnt offerings. ¹⁷ Sacrifice to God is a broken spirit; a broken and humbled heart God will not despise.

³¹ and this shall please God more than a young calf having horns and hoofs.

³ Blow the trumpet at the new moon, in the glorious day of your feast.

¹⁵ Blessed are the people that knows the joyful sound; they shall walk, O Lord, in the light of Your countenance.

⁵ They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. ⁶ They went on and wept as they cast their seeds; but they shall surely come with exaltation, bringing their sheaves with them.

¹¹ Of what value to Me is the abundance of your sacrifices? Says the Lord; I am full of whole burnt offerings of rams; and I delight not in the fat of lambs, and the blood of bulls and goats;

¹⁴ your fasting, and rest from work, your new moons also, and your feasts My soul hates; you have become loathsome to Me; I will no more pardon your sins.

¹² And the Lord, the Lord of hosts, called in that day for weeping, and lamentation, and baldness, and for girding with sackcloth;

¹³ And it shall come to pass in that day that they shall blow the great trumpet, and the lost ones in the land of the Assyrians shall come, and the lost ones in Egypt, and shall worship the Lord on the holy mountain in Jerusalem.

¹⁰ The Lord also is pleased to purge Him from His stroke. If you give an offering for sin, Your soul shall see a long-lived seed;

³ saying, Why have we fasted, and You did not see? Why have we afflicted our souls, and You did not know it? Nay, in the days of your fasts you find your pleasures, and all them that are under your power you wound. ⁴ If you fast for quarrels and strife, and strike the lowly with your fists, why do you fast to Me as you do this day, so that your voice may be heard in crying? ⁵ I have not chosen this fast, nor such a day for a man to afflict his soul; although you should bend down your neck as a ring, and spread under you sackcloth and ashes, neither thus shall you call a fast acceptable.

²² For I spoke not to your fathers, and commanded them not in the day that I brought them up out of the land of Egypt, concerning whole burnt offerings and sacrifice; ²³ but I commanded them this thing, saying, Hear My voice, and I will be your God, and you shall be My people. And walk in all My ways which I shall command you, that it may be well with you.

²⁵ And in the seventh month, on the fifteenth day of the month, you shall sacrifice in the feast in the same way seven days, as they sacrificed the sin offerings, and the whole burnt offerings, and the freewill offering, and the oil.

²⁴ Seventy weeks have been determined upon your people, and upon the holy city, for sin to be ended, to seal up transgressions, to blot out iniquities, to make atonement for iniquities, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy, and to anoint the Most Holy. ²⁵ And you shall know and understand, that from the going forth of the command for the answer and for the building of Jerusalem, until Christ the Prince, there shall be seven weeks, and sixty-two weeks; and then the time shall return, and the street shall be built, and the wall, and the times shall be exhausted. ²⁶ And after the sixty-two weeks, the Anointed One shall be killed, and there is no judgment in Him. And He shall destroy the city and the sanctuary with the prince that is to come: they shall be cut off with a flood, and to the end of the war which is rapidly completed He shall appoint the city to desolations.

⁶ For I desire mercy rather than sacrifice, and the knowledge of God rather than whole burnt offerings.

⁹ The grain offering and drink offering are removed from the house of the Lord: mourn, you priests that serve at the altar of the Lord.

¹³ Gird yourselves with sackcloth, and lament, you priests: mourn, you that serve at the altar: go in, sleep in sackcloth, you that minister to God: for the grain offering and drink offering are withheld from the house of your God.

¹⁴ Who knows if He will return, and repent, and leave a blessing behind Him, even a grain offering and a drink offering to the Lord your God?

¹⁴ they who swear by the propitiation of Samaria, and who say, Your god, O Dan, lives; and, Your god, O Beersheba, lives; and they shall fall, and shall not rise again.

³ speaking to the priests that were in the house of the Lord Almighty, and to the prophets, saying, The holy offering has come in here in the fifth month, as it has done already many years.

¹⁴ And the Lord shall be over them, and His arrow shall go forth as lightning: and the Lord Almighty shall blow with the trumpet; and shall proceed with the tumult of His threatening.

¹⁰ And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the Spirit of grace and compassion: and they shall look upon Me, because they have mocked Me, and they shall make lamentation for Him, as for a beloved friend, and they shall grieve intensely, as for a firstborn son.

¹⁶ And it shall come to pass, that whoever shall be left of all the nations that came against Jerusalem, shall come up every year to worship the King, the Lord Almighty, and to keep the Feast of Tabernacles. ¹⁷ And it shall come to pass, that whichever of all the families of the earth shall not come up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the Lord Almighty, even these shall be added to the others. ¹⁸ And if the family of Egypt shall not go up, nor come; then upon them shall be the plague with which the Lord shall smite all the nations, whichever of them shall not come up to keep the Feast of Tabernacles. ¹⁹ This shall be the sin of Egypt, and the sin of all the nations, those that shall not come up to keep the Feast of Tabernacles.

⁴ Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.

²⁰ teaching them to observe everything that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen.

¹⁵ And He said to them, "Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to all creation. ¹⁶ He that believes and is baptized shall be saved; but he that does not believe shall be condemned.

³ Not at all, I tell you; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish.

¹⁴ And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

³⁷ Now on the last day, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, "If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. ³⁸ He that believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his belly will flow rivers of living water." ³⁹ (But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him were about to receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.)

³¹ Then Jesus said to those Jews who had believed Him, "If you abide in My word, truly you are My disciples.

⁴³ And when the synagogue service was broken up, many of the Jews and of the devout proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas, who, speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God.

²⁷ For I did not draw back from declaring to you the whole counsel of God.

⁹ Now when much time had been spent, the voyage having already become dangerous, because the Fast had already gone by, Paul recommended,

⁷ to those who by the endurance of good works are seeking glory and honor and incorruption--eternal life.

⁶ knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, so that the body of sin may be done away with, that we should no longer serve sin.

¹⁴ How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear apart from a preacher? ¹⁵ And how shall they preach unless they are sent? Just as it is written: "How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, of those preaching the gospel of good things!" ¹⁶ But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, "Lord, who has believed our report?" ¹⁷ So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. ¹⁸ But I say, have they not heard? Yes, indeed they have: "Their voice went out to all the earth, and their words to the ends of the world."

¹ Therefore, brothers, I exhort you through the compassions of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, well pleasing to God, which is your intelligent service.

¹⁶ that I should be a minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God as a priest, so that the offering of the Gentiles might be acceptable, sanctified by the Holy Spirit. ¹⁷ Therefore I have something to boast of in Christ Jesus in the things pertaining to God. ¹⁸ For I will not dare to speak of any of those things which Christ did not work out through me, in word and deed, for the obedience of the Gentiles-- ¹⁹ in mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God, so that from Jerusalem and as far as Illyricum I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.

²⁷ But I treat my body roughly, and I bring it into subjection, lest, having preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.

³¹ Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all things for the glory of God.

³ For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,

⁹ Now I rejoice, not because you were made sorry, but because your sorrow led to repentance; for you were made sorry in a godly manner, that you might suffer loss from us in nothing. ¹⁰ For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, without regret; but worldly sorrow produces death. ¹¹ For behold this very thing, that you sorrowed in a godly manner, how much diligence it produced in you, even an eagerness to defend, even indignation, even fear, even longing, even zeal, even vengeance! In all things you demonstrated yourselves to be pure in this matter.

⁵ to whom not even for an hour did we yield in subjection, that the truth of the gospel might remain with you.

⁹ And while we do good, let us not lose heart, for in due season we shall reap if we do not become weary.

¹³ But as for you, brothers, do not lose heart in doing good.

² who is faithful to Him who appointed Him, as Moses also was faithful in all His house.

⁵ And Moses indeed was faithful in all His house as a servant, for a testimony of the things which would be spoken,

¹⁴ For we have become partakers of Christ, if indeed we hold fast the beginning of the assurance firm until the end,

²⁷ who does not need daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifices beforehand, in behalf of His own sins and then for the people's, for this He did once for all when He offered up Himself.

¹³ By the saying "new," He has made the first obsolete. And the one becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish.

³ and after the second veil, the part of the tabernacle which is called the Holy of Holies, ⁴ having a golden altar, and the ark of the covenant having been overlaid on all sides with gold, in which were a golden jar having the manna, and the rod of Aaron which budded, and the tablets of the covenant; ⁵ and above it were cherubim of glory overshadowing the mercy seat; concerning these things we cannot now speak in detail. ⁶ Now when these things had been thus prepared, the priests always went into the first tabernacle, accomplishing the services, ⁷ but into the second part the high priest goes alone once during the year, not without blood, which he offers for himself and for the people's sins committed in ignorance; ⁸ the Holy Spirit signifying this, that the way into the Holiest of All was not yet revealed while the first tabernacle was still standing, ⁹ which was symbolic for the present time, according to which both gifts and sacrifices are being offered, which are not able, in respect to conscience, to make perfect the one performing the service, ¹⁰ concerned only with foods and drinks, various washings, and fleshly ordinances which are imposed until a time of reformation. ¹¹ But Christ came as a High Priest of the good things to come, through the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands, that is, not of this creation. ¹² Not through the blood of goats and calves, but through His own blood, He entered once for all into the Holies, having obtained eternal redemption. ¹³ For if the blood of bulls and goats and the ashes of a heifer, sprinkling those having been defiled, sanctifies for the purity of the flesh, ¹⁴ by how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, will cleanse your conscience from dead works in order that we might serve the living God?

²⁵ not that He should offer Himself often, as the high priest enters into the Holies every year with another's blood-- ²⁶ since it would have been necessary for Him to suffer often from the foundation of the world; but now, once at the consummation of the ages, He has been revealed for the removal of sin through the sacrifice of Himself. ²⁷ And just as it is appointed for men once to die, and after this judgment, ²⁸ so also Christ having been offered once in order to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time apart from sin for salvation, to those eagerly waiting for Him.

¹⁰ By which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. ¹¹ And every priest stands ministering daily and offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which are never able to take away sins. ¹² But He Himself, having offered one sacrifice for sins forever, He sat down at the right hand of God, ¹³ from that time waiting till His enemies are placed as a footstool for His feet. ¹⁴ For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified.

³⁹ But we are not of those shrinking back to destruction, but of faith, to the saving of the soul.

⁹ By faith he migrated into a land of promise as in a foreign land, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the fellow heirs of the same promise; ¹⁰ for he waited for the city having foundations, whose builder and maker is God. ¹¹ By faith Sarah herself also received power for conception of seed, and she bore a child past the normal age, because she regarded Him faithful who had promised. ¹² Therefore even from one man they were begotten, and him as good as dead, just as the stars of the sky in multitude, and innumerable as the sand by the seashore. ¹³ These all died according to faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off and welcoming them, and confessing that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.

¹⁵ Therefore through Him let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, confessing to His name.

⁸ Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. ⁹ Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter change into mourning and your joy into dejection. ¹⁰ Be humbled before the Lord, and He will exalt you.

⁹ After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no man could number, out of every nation, and from tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, having been clothed in long white robes, with palm branches in their hands. ¹⁰ And they cried out with a loud voice, saying, "Salvation belongs to our God, to Him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!" ¹¹ And all the angels stood around the throne, and the elders and the four living beings, and they fell down on their faces before His throne and they worshipped God, ¹² saying: "Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom, and thanksgiving and honor and power and might, be to our God forever and ever. Amen." ¹³ Then one of the elders answered, saying to me, "Who are these arrayed in long white robes, and where did they come from?" ¹⁴ And I said to him, "My lord, you know." So he said to me, "These are those who come out of the Great Tribulation, and have washed their robes and they made them white in the blood of the Lamb. ¹⁵ Therefore they are before the throne of God, and they serve Him day and night in His temple. And He that sits on the throne shall dwell among them. ¹⁶ They shall neither hunger anymore nor thirst anymore; nor shall the sun by any means strike them, nor any scorching heat; ¹⁷ because the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne shepherds them, and He leads them to the springs of the waters of life. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes."
