⁵ For many will come in My name, saying, 'I am the Christ,' and they will deceive many.

¹⁴ Then the Lord said to me, The prophets prophesy lies in My name. I sent them not, and I commanded them not, and I spoke not to them: for they prophesy to you false visions, divinations, and worthless things, and devices of their own heart.

²¹ I sent not the prophets, yet they ran: neither did I speak to them, yet they prophesied.

²⁵ I have heard what the prophets say, what they prophesy in My name, saying falsely, I have seen a night vision.

¹¹ Then many false prophets will be raised up, and they will deceive many.

²⁴ For false christs and false prophets will be raised up, and they will show great signs and wonders so as to deceive, if possible, even the elect.

⁴³ I have come in My Father's name, and you do not receive Me; if another comes in his own name, him you will receive.

³⁶ For before these days, Theudas rose up, claiming himself to be someone, to whom was joined a number of men, about four hundred. He was slain, and all who obeyed him were scattered and came to nothing. ³⁷ After this arose Judas the Galilean, in the days of the census, and caused considerable number of people after him to revolt. That one also perished, and as many as were persuaded by him were dispersed.

⁹ Now a certain man named Simon was previously in the city practicing magic and astounding the people of Samaria, claiming himself to be someone great, ¹⁰ to whom they gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, "This man is the great power of God."

¹⁸ Little children, it is the last hour; and just as you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have appeared; from this we know that it is the last hour.

⁸ And all those who dwell on the earth shall worship him, whose name is not written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
