²⁷ For as the lightning comes out from the east and flashes to the west, so shall also be the coming of the Son of Man.

³ His dominion is under the whole heaven, and His light is at the extremities of the earth.

⁵ And, behold, I will send to you Elijah the Tishbite, before the great and glorious day of the Lord comes;

²⁰ And Jesus said to him, "Foxes have dens, and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head."

²⁸ Assuredly I say to you, there are some standing here who will by no means taste death till they see the Son of Man coming in His kingdom."

³ And as He was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, "Tell us, when shall these things be? And what shall be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?"

³⁷ But just as the days of Noah were, so also shall be the coming of the Son of Man.

³⁹ and they didn't know a thing until the flood came and took them all away, so also shall be the coming of the Son of Man.

²⁴ For just as the lightning which flashes out of the one part under heaven shines to the other part under heaven, so also the Son of Man will be in His day. ²⁵ But first He must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation. ²⁶ And just as it happened in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man. ²⁷ They were eating, they were drinking, they were marrying, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all. ²⁸ Likewise also as it happened in the days of Lot; they were eating, they were drinking, they were buying, they were selling, they were planting, they were building; ²⁹ but on the day that Lot went out from Sodom, it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all. ³⁰ In the same way it shall be in the day when the Son of Man is revealed. ³¹ In that day, he who shall be on the housetop, and his goods in the house, let him not come down to take them away. And likewise he who is in the field, let him not turn back for the things left behind. ³² Remember Lot's wife. ³³ Whoever seeks to save his life shall lose it, and whoever loses his life shall preserve it. ³⁴ I say to you, in that night two shall be on one bed: one shall be taken, and the other shall be left. ³⁵ Two shall be grinding together: one shall be taken, and the other shall be left. ³⁶ (OMITTED TEXT) ³⁷ And they answered and said to Him, "Where, Lord?" So He said to them, "Wherever the body is, there the eagles will be gathered together."

⁸ You also be patient. Establish your hearts, because the coming of the Lord has drawn near.

⁴ and saying, "Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers died, all things continue as from the beginning of creation."
