¹⁵ Then He charged them, saying, "Look out, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the leaven of Herod."

¹⁸ Beginning the fourteenth day of the first month, you shall eat unleavened bread from evening, till the twenty-first day of the month, till evening. ¹⁹ Seven days leaven shall not be found in your houses; whosoever shall eat anything leavened, that soul shall be cut off from the congregation of Israel, both among the occupiers of the land and the original inhabitants. ²⁰ You shall eat nothing leavened, but in every habitation of yours you shall eat unleavened bread.

¹¹ You shall not leaven any sacrifice which you shall bring to the Lord; for as to any leaven, or any honey, you shall not bring of it to offer a gift to the Lord.

¹⁹ And you shall set him before Eleazar the priest, and you shall give him a charge before all the congregation, and you shall give a charge concerning him before them. ²⁰ And you shall put of your glory upon him, that the children of Israel may hearken to him. ²¹ And he shall stand before Eleazar the priest, and they shall ask of him before the Lord the judgment of the Urim. They shall go forth at his word, and at his word they shall come in, he and the children of Israel with one accord, and all the congregation. ²² And Moses did as the Lord commanded him; and he took Joshua, and set him before Eleazar the priest, and before all the congregation. ²³ And he laid his hands on him, and appointed him as the Lord ordered Moses.

⁹ And now, my son Solomon, know the God of your fathers, and serve Him with a perfect heart and a willing soul; for the Lord searches all hearts, and knows every thought: if you seek Him, He will be found by you; but if you should forsake Him, He will forsake you forever. ¹⁰ See now, for the Lord has chosen you to build Him a house for a sanctuary; be strong and do it.

²⁰ And David said to Solomon his son, Be strong, and of good courage, and do it: fear not, neither be terrified; for the Lord my God is with you; He will not forsake you, and will not fail you, until you have finished all the work of the service of the house of the Lord. And behold the pattern of the temple, even His house, and its treasury, and the upper chambers, and the inner store rooms, and the place of propitiation, and the plan of the house of the Lord.

²⁷ A son who ceases to attend to the instruction of a father will cherish evil designs.

¹ At that time Herod the tetrarch heard the report about Jesus,

⁶ Then Jesus said to them, "Look out and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the Sadducees."

¹¹ How is it you do not perceive that I did not speak to you about bread, but to beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees?" ¹² Then they understood that He did not say to beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and Sadducees.

¹⁵ Then the Pharisees went and plotted how they might trap Him in His speech. ¹⁶ And they sent their disciples to Him with the Herodians, saying, "Teacher, we know that You are true, and teach the way of God in truth; nor do You show favoritism to anyone. ¹⁷ Tell us, therefore, what do You think? Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?" ¹⁸ But Jesus, knowing their wickedness, said, "Why do you test Me, you hypocrites?

¹³ Then they sent to Him some of the Pharisees and the Herodians, in order that they might catch Him in His discourse.

¹ Now in the meantime, as an innumerable crowd had gathered together so that they were stepping on one another, He began to say to His disciples first of all, "Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy. ² For there is nothing covered that shall not be unveiled, and nothing secret that shall not be made known.

¹⁵ And He said to them, "Take heed and beware of covetousness, for one's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions."

⁶ Your boasting is not good. Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole batch? ⁷ Purge out the old leaven, in order that you may be a new batch of dough, since you are unleavened. For indeed Christ, our Passover, was sacrificed for us. ⁸ So then let us observe the feast, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

²¹ I charge you before God and the Lord Jesus Christ and the elect angels that you observe these things without prejudice, doing nothing according to partiality.

¹³ I charge you before God who gives life to all things, and before Christ Jesus who witnessed the good confession before Pontius Pilate,

¹⁴ Remind them of these things, charging them before the Lord not to dispute about words, useful for nothing, for the ruin of the hearers.
