¹³ And these are the things which you shall abhor of birds, an they shall not be eaten, they are an abomination: the eagle and the ossifrage, and the sea-eagle.

¹² And these among them you shall not eat: the eagle, the ossifrage, the sea-eagle, ¹³ the vulture, the kite and the like to it, ¹⁴ (TEXT OMITTED) ¹⁵ the sparrow, the owl, the seagull, ¹⁶ the heron, the swan, the stork, ¹⁷ the cormorant, the hawk and its like, the hoopoe, the raven, ¹⁸ the pelican, and the diver and the like to it, and the redbill and the bat. ¹⁹ All winged animals that creep are unclean to you; you shall not eat of them. ²⁰ You shall eat every clean bird.

⁷ There is a path, the fowl has not known it, neither has the eye of the vulture seen it.

⁴¹ And who has prepared food for the raven? For its young ones wander and cry to the Lord, in search of food.

²⁷ And does the eagle rise at your command, and the vulture remain sitting over his nest, ²⁸ on a crag of a rock, and in a secret place? ²⁹ From there he seeks food, his eyes observe from afar. ³⁰ And his young ones roll themselves in blood, and wherever the carcasses may be, immediately they are found.

¹³ Behold, he shall come up as a cloud, and his chariots as a tempest. His horses are swifter than eagles. Woe unto us, for we are in misery!

²² For the princes of My people have not known Me, they are foolish and unwise children. They are wise to do evil, but how to do good they have not known.

⁴⁰ For thus said the Lord:

¹⁹ Our pursuers were swifter than the eagles of the sky, they flew on the mountains, in the wilderness they laid wait for us.

¹ He shall come into their midst as the land, as an eagle against the house of the Lord, because they have transgressed My covenant, and have sinned against My law.

⁸ And his horses shall bound more swiftly than leopards, and they are fiercer than the wolves of Arabia: and his horsemen shall ride forth, and shall rush from far; and they shall fly as an eagle that hastens to eat.

²⁸ For wherever the carcass may be, there the eagles will be gathered together.

²⁸ And just as they did not approve to have God in their knowledge, God gave them up to a reprobate mind, to do the things which are not fitting; ²⁹ having been filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, greed, malice; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, maliciousness; they are whisperers, ³⁰ slanderers, hateful to God, insolent men, proud, braggarts, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, ³¹ without understanding, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; ³² who, having known the righteous judgment of God, that those practicing such things are worthy of death, not only do them, but also approve of those who practice them.

¹³ "Their throat is an opened grave; with their tongues they deceived"; " the poison of asps is under their lips"; ¹⁴ "Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness. ¹⁵ Their feet are swift to shed blood; ¹⁶ Ruin and misery are in their ways; ¹⁷ And the way of peace they did not know.

³ For we ourselves were also once foolish, disobedient, being deceived, being enslaved to various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.
