¹⁴ And now fear the Lord, and serve Him in righteousness and justice; and remove the strange gods, which our fathers served beyond the river, and in Egypt; and serve the Lord.

¹ When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to Abram and said to him, I am your God, be well-pleasing before Me, and be blameless.

⁵ Did he not say to me, She is my sister, and she, even she herself said, He is my brother? With a pure heart and in the righteousness of my hands have I done this. ⁶ And God said to him in his sleep, Yes, I knew that you did this with a pure heart, and I spared you, so that you should not sin against Me, therefore I did not let you touch her.

² And Jacob said to his house, and to all that were with him, Remove the strange gods that are with you from the midst of you, and purify yourselves, and change your clothes.

³ You shall have no other gods beside Me. ⁴ You shall not make for yourself an idol, nor likeness of anything, whatever things are in the heaven above, and whatever are in the earth beneath, and whatever are in the waters under the earth.

⁷ And they shall no longer offer their sacrifices to vain gods after which they go a whoring; it shall be a perpetual statute to you for your generations.

¹² And now, O Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you, but to fear the Lord your God, and to walk in all His ways, and to love Him, and to serve the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul;

¹³ You shall be perfect before the Lord your God.

² And Joshua said to all the people, Thus says the Lord God of Israel: Your fathers at first sojourned beyond the river, even Terah, the father of Abraham and the father of Nahor; and they served other gods.

²³ And now take away the strange gods that are among you, and set your heart right toward the Lord God of Israel.

²⁴ Only fear the Lord, and serve Him in truth and with all your heart, for you see what great things He has done for you.

³ O Lord, remember, I pray, how I have walked before You in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in Your eyes. And Hezekiah wept with a great weeping.

¹¹ which You have given us by the hand of Your servants the prophets, saying, The land, into which you go to inherit it, is a land subject to disturbance by the removal of the people of the nations for their abominations, wherewith they have filled it from one end to the other by their impurity.

¹ There was a certain man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was true, blameless, righteous, and godly, abstaining from everything evil.

²⁸ And He said to man, Behold, godliness is wisdom: and to abstain from evil is understanding.

¹⁰ The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and all that act accordingly have a good understanding; His praise endures forever and ever.

¹ Alleluia. Blessed are the blameless in the way, who walk in the law of the Lord.

⁸⁰ Let my heart be blameless regarding Your statutes, that I may not be ashamed.

⁴ For with You is forgiveness;

⁷ And I said to them, Let everyone cast away the abominations of his eyes, and defile not yourselves with the devices of Egypt: I am the Lord your God. ⁸ But they revolted against Me, and would not hearken to Me: they cast not away the abominations of their eyes, and forsook not the devices of Egypt. Then I said that I would pour out My wrath upon them, to accomplish My wrath upon them in the midst of Egypt.

¹⁸ And I said to their children in the wilderness, Walk not in the customs of your fathers, and keep not their ordinances, and have no fellowship with their practices, nor defile yourselves with them.

³ and they went a-whoring in Egypt in their youth. There their breasts fell, there they lost their virginity.

⁵ And afterward shall the children of Israel return, and shall seek the Lord their God, and David their king; and shall be amazed at the Lord and at His goodness in the latter days.

²⁵ Have you offered to Me victims and sacrifices, O house of Israel, forty years in the wilderness? ²⁶ Yea, you took up the tabernacle of Moloch, and the star of your god Rephan, the images of them which you made for yourselves.

¹⁵ But that which fell on the good ground, these are such who when they heard the word, with a noble and good heart, hold on to it and bear fruit with endurance.

²³ But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. ²⁴ God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth."

³¹ Then the churches throughout all Judea, Galilee, and Samaria had peace and were edified, and going in the fear of the Lord and in the encouragement of the Holy Spirit, were multiplying.

¹² For our boasting is this: the testimony of our conscience, that we have conducted ourselves in the world in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom but by the grace of God, and especially toward you.

²⁴ Grace be with all those who love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen.

¹⁰ that you may approve the things that are excellent, in order that you may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ,
