And his friends and his wife said to him, If Mordecai is of the race of the Jews, and you have begun to be humbled before him, you will surely fall, and you will not be able to withstand him, for the living God is with him.

⁵ And the king said, Who is this that has dared to do this thing?

¹⁰ So Haman was hanged on the gallows that had been prepared for Mordecai; and then the king's wrath was appeased.

¹⁰ Therefore snares have surrounded you, and disastrous war has troubled you.

¹⁵ The heathen are caught in the destruction which they planned: in the very snare which they hid is their foot taken.
