¹ James, a bondservant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad: Greetings. ² Count it all joy, my brothers, when you fall into various trials, ³ knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. ⁴ But let endurance have its perfect work, that you may be mature and complete, lacking nothing. ⁵ If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it shall be given to him. ⁶ But let him ask in faith, doubting nothing, for he that doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. ⁷ For let not that man suppose that he shall receive anything from the Lord; ⁸ he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways. ⁹ Let the lowly brother rejoice in his exaltation, ¹⁰ but the rich man in his humiliation, because as a flower of the field he will pass away. ¹¹ For the sun arose with burning heat and withered the grass, and its flower fell off, and its beautiful appearance perished. So the rich man also shall fade away in his pursuits. ¹² Blessed is the man who endures temptation; because when he is approved, he shall receive the crown of life which the Lord promised to those who love Him. ¹³ Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am tempted by God"; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone. ¹⁴ But each one is tempted by his own lusts, being drawn away and being seduced by them. ¹⁵ Then lust, when it conceives, gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death. ¹⁶ Do not be deceived, my beloved brothers. ¹⁷ Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning. ¹⁸ Exercising His will He begat us by the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures. ¹⁹ So then, my beloved brothers, let every man be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger; ²⁰ for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God. ²¹ Therefore laying aside all filthiness and abundance of evil, in meekness receive the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. ²² But become doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. ²³ Because if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, this one is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; ²⁴ for he observed himself and has gone away, and immediately forgot what sort of man he was. ²⁵ But the one who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one shall be blessed in what he does. ²⁶ If anyone among you thinks he is religious, and does not bridle his tongue but deceiving his heart, the religion of this man is useless. ²⁷ Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to care for orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.

And where is the place of understanding? ¹³ A mortal has not known its way, neither indeed has it been discovered among men. ¹⁴ The depth said, It is not in me, and the sea said, It is not with me. ¹⁵ One shall not give fine gold instead of it, neither shall silver be weighed in exchange for it. ¹⁶ Neither shall it be compared with the gold of Ophir, with the precious onyx and sapphire. ¹⁷ Gold and crystal shall not be equaled to it, neither shall vessels of gold be its exchange. ¹⁸ Coral and fine pearl shall not be mentioned, but do you esteem wisdom above the most precious things. ¹⁹ The topaz of Ethiopia shall not be equaled to it; it shall not be compared with pure gold. ²⁰ Where then is wisdom found? And of what kind is the place of understanding? ²¹ It has escaped the notice of every man, and has been hidden from the birds of the sky. ²² Destruction and Death said, We have heard the report of it. ²³ God has well ordered the way of it, and He knows the place of it. ²⁴ For He surveys the whole earth under heaven, knowing the things in the earth; ²⁵ all that He has made; the weight of the winds, the measures of the water. ²⁶ When He made them, thus He saw and numbered them, and made a way for the pealing of the thunder. ²⁷ Then He saw it, and declared it: He prepared it, and traced it out. ²⁸ And He said to man, Behold, godliness is wisdom: and to abstain from evil is understanding.

¹¹ But let all that trust in You be glad in You: they shall rejoice forever, and You shall dwell among them; and all that love Your name shall rejoice in You.

¹⁴ Behold, the wicked has travailed with unrighteousness; he has conceived trouble, and has brought forth iniquity.

¹⁷ Let sinners be driven away into Hades, even all the nations that forget God.

The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament proclaims the work of His hands. ² Day to day utters speech, and night to night proclaims knowledge. ³ There are no speeches or words, in which their voices are not heard. ⁴ Their voice is gone out into all the earth, and their words to the ends of the world. ⁵ In the sun He has set His tabernacle; and He came forth as a bridegroom out of His chamber; He will exalt as a giant to run His course. ⁶ His going forth is from the extremity of heaven, and His circuit to the other end of heaven; and no one shall be hidden from His heat. ⁷ The law of the Lord is perfect, converting souls; the testimony of the Lord is faithful, instructing babes.

⁶ I have not chosen such a fast, says the Lord; but do you loose every burden of iniquity, do you untie the knots of hard bargains, set the bruised free, and cancel every unjust account? ⁷ Break your bread to the hungry, and lead the unsheltered poor to your house; if you see one naked, clothe him, and you shall not disregard the relations of your own seed.

Your dream, and the visions of your head upon your bed are as follows: ²⁹ O king: your thoughts upon your bed arose as to what must come to pass hereafter: and He that reveals mysteries has made known to you what must come to pass. ³⁰ Moreover, this mystery has not been revealed to me by reason of wisdom which is in me beyond all others living, but for the sake of making known the interpretation to the king, that you might know the thoughts of your heart.

¹ Woe to them that are at ease in Zion, and that trust in the mountain of Samaria; they have gathered the harvest of the heads of the nations, and they have gone in themselves.

³ Behold, I have made you small among the Gentiles: you are greatly dishonored. The pride of your heart has elated you, dwelling as you do in the holes of the rocks, as one that exalts his habitation, saying in his heart, Who will bring me down to the ground?

⁷ And God commanded a worm the next morning, and it smote the gourd, and it withered away. ⁸ And it came to pass at the rising of the sun, that God commanded a burning east wind; and the sun beat upon the head of Jonah, and he fainted, and despaired of his life, and said, It is better for me to die than to live.

¹ They meditated troubles, and wrought wickedness on their beds, and they put it in execution with the daylight; for they have not lifted up their hands to God. ² And they desired fields, and plundered orphans, and oppressed families, and spoiled a man and his house, even a man and his inheritance. ³ Therefore thus says the Lord; Behold, I devise evils against this family, out of which you shall not lift up your necks, neither shall you walk upright speedily: for the time is evil.

For He is coming in as the fire of a furnace and as the herb of fullers. ³ He shall sit to melt and purify as it were silver, and as it were gold: and He shall purify the sons of Levi, and refine them as gold and silver, and they shall offer to the Lord an offering in righteousness.

⁶ For I am the Lord your God, and I change not;

¹⁴ You said, He that serves God labors in vain: and what have we gained in that we have kept His ordinances, and in that we have walked as suppliants before the face of the Lord Almighty?

³ "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

²⁸ But I say to you, that whoever looks at a woman in order to lust after her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

²² "The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is sound, your whole body will be full of light.

²² So Jesus answered and said to them, "Have faith in God. ²³ For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be taken up and cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that the things which he says are coming to pass, what ever he says shall be his. ²⁴ For this reason I say to you, all things whatsoever you ask for in prayer, believe that you will receive them, and they will be yours.

⁴ because everything having been born of God overcomes the world: and this is the victory that has overcome the world--your faith. ⁵ Who is he that overcomes the world, if not he that believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

¹¹ And this is the testimony: that God has given to us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. ¹² He that has the Son has life; he that does not have the Son of God does not have life.

¹⁴ And this is the confidence that we have toward Him, that if we should ask anything according to His will, He hears us. ¹⁵ And if we know that He hears us, whatever we may ask, we know that we have the requests that we have requested from Him.

¹⁸ We know that everyone begotten of God does not sin; but he that was begotten of God keeps himself, and the evil one does not touch him.

¹¹ Beloved, do not imitate the evil, but the good. He who does good is of God; he who does evil has not seen God.

¹ Jude, a bondservant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to those who are called, having been sanctified by God the Father, and having been kept in Jesus Christ:

¹² These are stains in your love feasts, while they feast with you without fear, caring for themselves, they are waterless clouds being carried along by winds; late autumn trees unfruitful, twice having died, having been uprooted, ¹³ raging waves on the sea, casting up the foam of their own shame; wandering stars for whom the darkness of the netherworld has been reserved forever.

⁹ "I know your works, and your tribulation, and your poverty (but you are rich); and I know the blasphemy of those who say they are Jews and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan. ¹⁰ Fear none of those things which you are about to suffer. Behold indeed, the devil is about to cast some of you into prison, so that you may be tested, and you will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.

¹⁹ As many as I love, I rebuke and discipline. Be zealous therefore, and repent.

²¹ He that overcomes, I will grant to him to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.

⁹ And they sang a new song, saying: "You are worthy to take the scroll, and to open its seals; because You were slain, and You redeemed us to God by Your blood, out of every tribe and language and people and nation; ¹⁰ and have made them kings and priests to our God; and they will reign on the earth."

⁴ And I heard the number of those having been sealed, one hundred and forty-four thousand having been sealed out of every tribe of the sons of Israel:

⁹ After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no man could number, out of every nation, and from tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, having been clothed in long white robes, with palm branches in their hands. ¹⁰ And they cried out with a loud voice, saying, "Salvation belongs to our God, to Him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!"

⁹ And the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

⁴ These are those who were not defiled with women, for they are virgins. These are those who follow the Lamb wherever He may go. These were redeemed by Jesus from among men, firstfruits to God and to the Lamb.

¹³ And I heard a voice out of heaven saying, "Write: 'Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on,' "Yes," says the Spirit, "that they may rest from their labors, and their works follow with them."

¹⁴ Then Death and Hades were thrown into the Lake of Fire. This is the second death, the Lake of Fire. ¹⁵ And if anyone was not found having been written in the Book of Life, he was cast into the Lake of Fire.

²³ The city had no need of the sun nor of the moon to shine, for the very glory of God illuminated it, and its lamp is the Lamb.

⁵ And night shall not exist. and there shall not be a need of a lamp and of light, because the Lord God shall illuminate them. And they shall reign forever and ever.

⁷ Behold, I am coming swiftly! Blessed is he that keeps the words of the prophecy of this book."

¹⁴ Blessed are those who do His commandments, so that their right shall be to the tree of life, and they may enter by the gates into the city.
