²² This is the word which God has spoken concerning him; The virgin daughter of Zion has despised you, and mocked you; the daughter of Jerusalem has shaken her head at you.

³⁶ Your servant has killed both the lion and the bear, and the uncircumcised Philistine shall be as one of them! Shall I not go and kill him, and remove this day this reproach from Israel? For who is this uncircumcised one, who has defied the army of the living God?

⁴⁴ And the Philistine said to David, Come to me, and I will give your flesh to the birds of the air, and to the beasts of the earth. ⁴⁵ And David said to the Philistine, You come to me with sword, and with spear, and with shield; but I come to you in the name of the Lord God of hosts, of the army of Israel, which you have defied this day. ⁴⁶ And the Lord shall deliver you this day into my hand, and I will kill you, and take away your head from off of you, and I will give your limbs and the limbs of the army of the Philistines this day to the birds of the sky, and to the wild beasts of the earth; and all the earth shall know that there is a God in Israel. ⁴⁷ And all this assembly shall know that the Lord delivers not by sword or spear, for the battle is the Lord's, and the Lord will deliver you into our hands.

⁴ I also will speak as you do — if indeed your soul were in my soul's place, ^(16:5) then would I insult you with words, and I would shake my head at you!

² The kings of the earth stood up, and the rulers gathered themselves together, against the Lord, and against His Christ; ³ saying, Let us break through Their bonds, and cast away Their yoke from us. ⁴ He that dwells in the heavens shall laugh them to scorn, and the Lord shall mock them.

¹⁴ that I may declare all Your praises in the gates of the daughter of Zion: I will rejoice in Your salvation.

⁷ All that saw Me mocked Me; they spoke with their lips, they shook the head, saying, ⁸ He hoped in the Lord; let Him deliver Him, let Him save Him, because He takes pleasure in Him.

¹ A Psalm of David, before he was anointed. The Lord is my light and my Savior; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the defender of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? ² When evildoers drew near against me to eat up my flesh, my persecutors and my enemies, they fainted and fell. ³ Though an army should set itself in array against me, my heart shall not be afraid; Though war should rise up against me, in this am I confident.

¹⁸ Let the deceitful lips become dumb, which speak iniquity against the righteous with pride and scorn.

¹ For the end, for the sons of Korah; A Psalm concerning secret things. God is our refuge and strength, a help in the afflictions that have come heavily upon us. ² Therefore will we not fear when the earth is troubled, and the mountains are removed into the depths of the seas. ³ Their waters have roared and been troubled, the mountains have been troubled by His might. Pause. ⁴ The flowings of the river gladden the city of God; the Most High has sanctified His tabernacle. ⁵ God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved; God shall help her with His countenance. ⁶ The nations were troubled, the kingdoms tottered; He uttered His voice, the earth shook. ⁷ The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our helper. Pause.

⁸ The daughter of Zion shall be deserted as a tent in a vineyard, and as a storehouse of fruits in a garden of cucumbers, as a besieged city.

⁹ Know, you Gentiles, and be conquered; listen, even to the extremity of the earth; be conquered, after you strengthened yourselves; for even if you should again strengthen yourselves, you shall again be conquered. ¹⁰ And whatever counsel you shall take, the Lord shall bring it to nought; and whatever word you shall speak, it shall not stand among you; for God is with us.

³² Exhort them today to remain in the way; exhort, beckoning the mountain with your hand, the daughter of Zion, even you hills that are in Jerusalem.

¹² And men shall say, You shall no longer at all continue to insult and injure the daughter of Sidon; and if you depart to the Citians, neither there shall you have rest.

¹¹ For behold, the Lord has proclaimed to the end of the earth, say to the daughter of Zion, Behold, your Savior has come to you, having His reward and His work before His face.

¹⁷ And you shall speak this word to them: Let your eyes shed tears day and night, and let them not cease; for the daughter of My people has been sorely bruised, and her plague is very grievous.

¹⁵ ( { ρ}) SAMECH. The Lord has cut off all my strong men from the midst of me: He has summoned against me a time for crushing my choice men: the Lord has trodden a wine press for the virgin daughter of Judah: for these things I weep.

¹³ ( { ξ}) MEM. What shall I testify to you, or what shall I compare to you, O daughter of Jerusalem? Who shall save and comfort you, O virgin daughter of Zion? For the cup of your destruction is enlarged — who shall heal you?

⁹ Proclaim these things among the Gentiles; declare war, arouse the warriors, draw near and go up, all you men of war. ¹⁰ Beat your plowshares into swords, and your sickles into spears: let the weak say, I am strong. ¹¹ Gather yourselves together, and go in, all you nations round about, and gather yourselves there; let the timid become a warrior. ¹² Let them be aroused, let all the nations go up to the valley of Jehoshaphat: for there will I sit to judge all the Gentiles round about.

² The virgin of Israel has fallen; there is none that shall raise her up.

¹⁴ Rejoice, O daughter of Zion; cry aloud, O daughter of Jerusalem; rejoice and delight yourself with all your heart, O daughter of Jerusalem.

¹⁰ Rejoice and be glad, O daughter of Zion! For behold, I come, and will dwell in the midst of you, says the Lord.

⁹ Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; proclaim it aloud, O daughter of Jerusalem; behold, your King is coming to you, righteous, and your Savior; He is meek and riding on a donkey, a young foal of a donkey.

⁵ "Say to the daughter of Zion, 'Behold, your King is coming to you, humble, and sitting on a donkey, a colt, the foal of a donkey.' "

³⁹ And those passing by were blaspheming Him, shaking their heads
