¹¹ And I will command evils for the whole world, and will visit their sins on the ungodly; and I will destroy the pride of transgressors, and will bring low the pride of the haughty.

¹¹ For the eyes of the Lord are high, but man is low; and the haughtiness of men shall be brought low, and the Lord alone shall be exalted in that day.

¹⁷ And every man shall be brought low, and the pride of men shall fall; and the Lord alone shall be exalted in that day.

¹¹ Woe to the transgressor! Evils shall happen to him according to the works of his hands.

¹⁵ And the mean man shall be brought low, and the great man shall be disgraced, and the lofty eyes shall be brought low.

⁴ but He shall judge the cause of the lowly, and shall reprove the lowly of the earth; and He shall smite the earth with the word of His mouth, and with the breath of His lips shall He destroy the ungodly one.

¹² How has Lucifer, that rose of the morning, fallen from heaven! He that sent orders to all the nations is crushed to the earth. ¹³ But you have said in your heart, I will go up to heaven, I will set my throne above the stars of heaven; I will sit on a lofty mount, on the lofty mountains toward the north; ¹⁴ I will go up above the clouds; I will be like the Most High. ¹⁵ But now you shall go down to hell, even to the foundations of the earth! ¹⁶ They that see you shall marvel at you, and say, This is the man that troubled the earth, that made kings to shake;

²¹ Prepare your children to be slain for the sins of their father; that they arise not, and inherit the earth, nor fill the earth with wars.

⁴ The earth mourns, and the world is ruined, the lofty ones of the earth are mourning. ⁵ And she has sinned by reason of her inhabitants; because they have transgressed the law, and changed the ordinances, even the everlasting covenant. ⁶ Therefore a curse shall consume the earth, because its inhabitants have sinned; therefore the inhabitants of the earth shall be poor, and few men shall be left.

²¹ For behold, the Lord is bringing wrath from His holy place on those that dwell upon the earth; the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall not cover her slain.

²⁹ Summon many against Babylon, everyone that bends the bow. Camp against her round about; let none of her people escape. Render to her according to her works, according to all that she has done, do to her; for she has resisted the Lord, the Holy God of Israel. ³⁰ Therefore shall her young men fall in the streets, and all her warriors shall be cast down, says the Lord. ³¹ Behold, I am against you, O haughty one, says the Lord; for your day has come, and the time of your retribution. ³² And your pride shall fail, and fall, and there shall be no one to set it up again. And I will kindle a fire in her forest, and it shall devour all things round about her.

³⁴ He has devoured me, he has torn me asunder, airy darkness has come upon me; Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon has swallowed me up, as a dragon has he filled his belly with my delicacies. ³⁵ My troubles and my distresses have driven me out into Babylon, shall she that dwells in Zion say; and my blood shall be upon the Chaldeans dwelling there, shall Jerusalem say. ³⁶ Therefore thus says the Lord: Behold, I will judge your adversary, and I will execute vengeance for you; and I will waste her sea, and dry up her fountain. ³⁷ And Babylon shall be a desolation, and shall not be inhabited. ³⁸ For they rose up together as lions, and as lions' whelps.

²² And you accordingly, his son, O Belshazzar, have not humbled your heart before God: do you not know all this? ²³ And you have exalted yourself against the Lord God of heaven; and they have brought before you the vessels of His house, and you, your nobles, your mistresses, and your concubines have drunk wine out of them; and you have praised the gods of gold, silver, brass, iron, wood, and stone, which see not, and which hear not, and know not: and the God who holds your breath in His hand and owns all your ways, you have not glorified.

⁹ And the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. ¹⁰ Then I heard a loud voice in heaven saying, "Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of His Christ, because the accuser of our brothers, the one who accused them before our God day and night, has been thrown out of heaven.

² And he cried out with a strong voice, saying, "Babylon the great has fallen, and she has become a dwelling place of demons, a prison for every unclean spirit, and a cage for every unclean and detestable bird! ³ For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich through the wealth of her luxury."
