¹⁶ to reveal His Son in me, so that I might preach Him among the Gentiles, I did not immediately consult with flesh and blood,

⁹ Who says to his father and mother, I have not seen you; and he knew not his brethren, and he refused to know his sons; he kept Your oracles, and observed Your covenant.

¹⁷ Jesus answered and said to him, "Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, because flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but My Father who is in heaven.

⁴¹ Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. Indeed the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak."

²³ Then He said to them all, "If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. ²⁴ For whoever desires to save his life shall lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake shall save it. ²⁵ For what is a man profited if he gains the whole world, and is himself destroyed or lost?

⁵⁹ Then He said to another, "Follow Me." But he said, "Lord, permit me first to go and bury my father." ⁶⁰ Jesus said to him, "Leave the dead to bury their own dead, but you go and proclaim the kingdom of God." ⁶¹ And another also said, "Lord, I will follow You, but first permit me to say farewell to those who are at my house." ⁶² But Jesus said to him, "No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God."

¹⁵ But the Lord said to him, "Go your way, for he is a chosen vessel to Me to bear My name before Gentiles and kings, and the sons of Israel.

²¹ "Then He said to me, 'Go, for I will send you far away to the Gentiles.' "

¹⁷ delivering you from the people, and from the Gentiles, to whom I am sending you, ¹⁸ to open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light, and from the authority of Satan to God, in order for them to receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me.' ¹⁹ "Therefore, King Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision, ²⁰ but to those first in Damascus and in Jerusalem, and throughout all the region of Judea, and to the Gentiles, proclaiming that they must repent and turn to God, and do works worthy of repentance.

¹³ Now I do not want you to be ignorant, brothers, that often I planned to come to you (and I was hindered until now), that I might have some fruit among you also, just as among the other Gentiles. ¹⁴ I am a debtor both to Greeks and to barbarians, both to wise and to unwise.

¹³ For I speak to you Gentiles; inasmuch as I am indeed an apostle to the Gentiles, I glorify my ministry,

¹⁶ that I should be a minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God as a priest, so that the offering of the Gentiles might be acceptable, sanctified by the Holy Spirit. ¹⁷ Therefore I have something to boast of in Christ Jesus in the things pertaining to God. ¹⁸ For I will not dare to speak of any of those things which Christ did not work out through me, in word and deed, for the obedience of the Gentiles-- ¹⁹ in mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God, so that from Jerusalem and as far as Illyricum I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.

⁹ But as it is written: "Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for those who love Him." ¹⁰ But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, even the depths of God. ¹¹ For who among men knows the things of a man, except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so, no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. ¹² Now we did not receive the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is from God, in order that we might know the things granted to us by God; ¹³ which things we also speak, not in words taught in human wisdom, but in words taught by the Holy Spirit, comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

⁵⁰ Now this I say, brothers, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor can corruption inherit incorruption.

⁶ Because it is God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who shined in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

¹⁶ Therefore, from now on, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him thus no longer.

¹¹ But I make known to you, brothers, the gospel preached by me is not according to man. ¹² For I neither received it from man, nor was I taught it, but through the revelation of Jesus Christ.

¹ Then after fourteen years I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, also taking Titus along.

⁶ But from those who seemed to be something--whatever they were, it makes no difference to me; God shows partiality to no man--so to me, those with influence contributed nothing, ⁷ but on the contrary, when they saw that I had been entrusted with the gospel for the uncircumcised, just as Peter with the gospel for the circumcised, ⁸ (for He who worked with Peter in the apostleship to the circumcised, worked also with me in that for the Gentiles), ⁹ and when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace which was given to me, they gave me and Barnabas their right hands of fellowship, that we should go to the Gentiles and they to the circumcised;

¹⁷ that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, ¹⁸ the eyes of your heart having been enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,

¹ For this reason I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus in behalf of you Gentiles--

⁵ which in other generations was not made known to the sons of men, as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to His holy apostles and prophets: ⁶ that the Gentiles should be joint-heirs, and of the same body, and joint-partakers in His promise in Christ by the gospel, ⁷ of which I became a minister according to the free gift of the grace of God which was given to me according to the working of His power. ⁸ To me, the very least of all the saints, this grace was given, to preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ, ⁹ and to enlighten all as to what is the administration of the mystery, which had been hidden from the ages in God, who created all things through Jesus Christ; ¹⁰ that the manifold wisdom of God might be made known by the church to the rulers and authorities in the heavenlies,

¹² For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual forces of evil in the heavenlies.

²⁵ of which I became a minister according to the stewardship of God which was given to me for you, to fulfill the word of God, ²⁶ the mystery which has been hidden from the ages and from generations, but now was revealed to His saints. ²⁷ To whom God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the nations, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory;

¹⁶ forbidding us from speaking to the Gentiles so that they may be saved, so as always to fill up the measure of their sins; but the wrath of God has come upon them to the uttermost.

⁷ for which I was appointed a herald and apostle--I speak the truth in Christ, I do not lie--a teacher of Gentiles in faith and truth.

¹⁴ Therefore since the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same things, in order that through death He might destroy the one having the power of death, that is, the devil,
