Ezekiel 15 Cross References - CAB

1 And the word of the Lord came to me, saying, 2 And you, son of man — of all the wood, of the branches that are among the trees of the forest, what shall be made of the wood of the vine? 3 Will they take wood from it to make it fit for work? Will they take a peg from it to hang any vessel upon it? 4 It is only given to the fire to be consumed; the fire consumes that which is yearly ruined of it, and it is utterly gone. Will it be useful for any work? 5 Not even while it is yet whole will it be useful for any work; if the fire shall have utterly consumed it, will it still be fit for work? 6 Therefore say, Thus says the Lord: As the vine tree among the trees of the forest, which I have given up to the fire to be consumed, so have I given up the inhabitants of Jerusalem. 7 And I will set My face against them; they shall go forth of the fire, and yet fire shall devour them; and they shall know that I am the Lord, when I have set My face against them. 8 And I will give up the land to ruin, because they have utterly transgressed, says the Lord.

And you have not hearkened to the voice of the Lord, and have not walked in His ordinances, and in His law, and in His testimonies; and so these evils have come upon you. 24 And Jeremiah said to the people, and to the women, Hear the word of the Lord. 25 Thus says the Lord God of Israel; You women have spoken with your mouth, and you have fulfilled it with your hands, saying, We will surely perform our vows that we have vowed, to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour drink offerings to her. Full well did you keep to your vows, and you have indeed performed them. 26 Therefore hear the word of the Lord, all you Jews dwelling in the land of Egypt: Behold, I have sworn by My great name, says the Lord, My name shall no longer be in the mouth of every Jew to say, The Lord lives, in all the land of Egypt. 27 For I have watched over them, to hurt them, and not to do them good. And behold, this vine bent itself round toward him, and its roots were turned towards him, and it sent forth its branches towards him, that he might water it together with the growth of its plantation. 8 It thrives in a fair field by much water, to produce shoots and bear fruit, that it might become a great vine. 9 Therefore say, Thus says the Lord: Shall it prosper? Shall not the roots of its tender stem and its fruit be blighted? Yea, all its early shoots shall be dried up, and that not by a mighty arm, nor by many people, to tear it up from its roots. 10 And behold, it thrives; shall it prosper? Come, let us kill him, and let us gain possession of his inheritance.' 39 "And taking him, they cast him out of the vineyard and killed him. 40 Therefore, when the owner of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those farmers?" 41 They said to Him, "He will destroy those wicked men miserably, and lease his vineyard to other farmers, who will render to him the fruits in their seasons."

I will send my beloved son. Perhaps when they see him they will respect him.' 14 But when the farmers saw him, they reasoned among themselves, saying, 'This is the heir. Come, let us kill him, so that the inheritance may be ours.' 15 And casting him out of the vineyard, they killed him. Just as the branch cannot bear fruit on its own, unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me. 5 I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; because apart from Me you can do nothing. 6 If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out like a branch and dries up; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned.
