¹⁰ And they saw the place where the God of Israel stood; and under His feet was as it were a work of sapphire slabs, and as it were the appearance of the firmament of heaven in its purity.

³⁰ And Jacob called the name of that place Peniel; for, he said, I have seen God face to face, and my life was preserved.

⁶ And He said, I am the God of your father — the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses turned away his face, for he was afraid to gaze at God.

²⁰ And God said, You shall not be able to see My face; for no man shall see My face and live.

²³ And I will remove My hand, and then shall you see My back parts; but My face shall not appear to you.

²¹ And the Angel appeared no more to Manoah and to his wife. Then Manoah knew that this was the Angel of the Lord. ²² And Manoah said to his wife, We shall surely die, because we have seen God.

¹⁹ And Micaiah said, Not so, it is not I: hear the word of the Lord: I saw the God of Israel sitting on His throne, and all the host of heaven stood about Him on His right hand and on His left.

¹ And it came to pass in the year in which King Uzziah died, that I saw the Lord sitting on a high and exalted throne, and the house was full of His glory. ² And seraphim stood round about Him; each one had six wings; and with two they covered their face, and with two they covered their feet, and with two they flew. ³ And one cried to the other, and they said, Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of His glory. ⁴ And the doorpost shook at the voice they uttered, and the house was filled with smoke. ⁵ And I said, Woe is me, for I am pricked to the heart; for being a man, and having unclean lips, I dwell in the midst of a people having unclean lips; and I have seen with my eyes the King, the Lord of hosts.

²⁶ that was over their head, there was as the appearance of a sapphire stone, and the likeness of a throne upon it. And upon the likeness of the throne was the likeness as an appearance of a man above. ²⁷ And I saw as it were the resemblance of amber from the appearance of the loins and upwards, and from the appearance of the loins and under I saw an appearance of fire, and the brightness thereof round about. ²⁸ As the appearance of the rainbow when it is in the cloud in days of rain, so was the form of brightness round about.

¹ Then I looked, and behold, over the firmament that was above the head of the cherubim there was a likeness of a throne over them, as a sapphire stone.

² and He was transfigured before them, and His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became as white as the light.

¹⁸ No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, He who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.

⁴⁶ Not that anyone has seen the Father, except He who is from God; He has seen the Father.

⁹ Jesus said to him, "Have I been with you for so long a time, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He that has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, 'Show us the Father'?

¹⁶ who alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or is able to see, to whom be honor and everlasting power. Amen.

¹² No one has ever seen God. If we love one another, God abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us.

¹⁶ He had in His right hand seven stars, out of His mouth proceeded a sharp two-edged sword, and His countenance was as the sun shining in its strength.

³ similar in appearance to a jasper and sardius stone, and there was a rainbow around the throne, in appearance like an emerald.

¹¹ having the glory of God. Its radiance was like a most precious stone, like a jasper stone, clear as crystal,

¹⁸ And the construction of its wall was of jasper; and the city was pure gold, like transparent glass. ¹⁹ The foundations of the wall of the city were adorned with every precious stone: the first foundation was jasper, the second sapphire, the third chalcedony, the fourth emerald, ²⁰ the fifth sardonyx, the sixth carnelian, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh jacinth, and the twelfth amethyst. ²¹ The twelve gates are twelve pearls: each one of the gates was made of one pearl. And the street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass. ²² But I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God Almighty is its temple, also the Lamb. ²³ The city had no need of the sun nor of the moon to shine, for the very glory of God illuminated it, and its lamp is the Lamb.
