¹ Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. ² "Honor your father and mother," which is the first commandment with a promise: ³ "that it may be well with you, and you may live long on the earth." ⁴ And fathers, do not provoke your children, but bring them up in the discipline and admonition of the Lord. ⁵ Slaves, obey your masters according to the flesh with fear and trembling, in simplicity of heart, as to Christ; ⁶ not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but as slaves of Christ, doing the will of God wholeheartedly, ⁷ with good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men, ⁸ knowing that whatever good thing anyone does, the same he shall receive back from the Lord, whether he is a slave or free. ⁹ And masters, do the same things towards them, giving up threatening, knowing that your own Master is in heaven, and there is no partiality with Him. ¹⁰ Finally, my brothers, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. ¹¹ Put on the full armor of God, so that you may be able to stand against the stratagems of the devil. ¹² For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual forces of evil in the heavenlies. ¹³ Because of this, take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having accomplished all things, to stand. ¹⁴ Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, ¹⁵ and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; ¹⁶ above all, taking up the shield of faith, with which you will be able to quench all the flaming arrows of the evil one. ¹⁷ And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; ¹⁸ through every prayer and petition, praying in every season in the Spirit, being watchful to this same thing with all perseverance and petition concerning all the saints-- ¹⁹ and for me, that utterance may be given unto me, in the opening of my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel, ²⁰ for the sake of which I serve as an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I must speak. ²¹ But that you also may know my circumstances, and how I am doing, Tychicus, a beloved brother and faithful servant in the Lord, will make all things known to you; ²² whom I have sent to you for this very purpose, that you may know our situation, and that he may comfort your hearts. ²³ Peace to the brothers, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. ²⁴ Grace be with all those who love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen.

¹ And after these things the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram, I am your shield. Your reward shall be very great.

²³ And he said to them, God deal mercifully with you; be not afraid; your God, and the God of your fathers, has given you treasures in your sacks, and I have enough of your good money. And he brought Simeon out to them.

²⁶ And it shall come to pass, if your sons say to you, What is this service? ²⁷ That you shall say to them, This Passover is a sacrifice to the Lord, as He defended the houses of the children of Israel in Egypt, when He struck the Egyptians, but delivered our houses.

¹⁴ And if later on your son should ask you, saying, What is this? Then you shall say to him, With a strong hand the Lord brought us out of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. ¹⁵ And when Pharaoh hardened his heart so as not to send us away, He slew every firstborn in the land of Egypt, both the firstborn of man and the firstborn of beast; therefore I sacrifice every offspring that opens the womb, the males to the Lord, and every firstborn of my sons I will redeem.

¹² Honor your father and your mother, that it may be well with you, and that you may live long on the good land, which the Lord your God gives to you.

³ Let everyone of you reverence his father and his mother; and you shall keep My Sabbaths: I am the Lord your God.

¹³ You shall not injure your neighbor, neither shall you rob him, neither shall the wages of your hireling remain with you until the morning.

³⁹ And if your brother by you be lowered, and be sold to you, he shall not serve you with the servitude of a slave. ⁴⁰ He shall be with you as a hireling or a sojourner, he shall work for you till the year of release; ⁴¹ and he shall go out in the release, and his children with him; and he shall go to his family, he shall hasten back to his family. ⁴² Because these are My servants, whom I brought out of the land of Egypt; such a one shall not be sold as a common servant. ⁴³ You shall not oppress him with labor, and shall fear the Lord your God. ⁴⁴ And whatever number of men servants and maid servants you shall have, you shall purchase male and female servants from the nations that are round about you. ⁴⁵ And of the sons of the sojourners that are among you, of these you shall buy and of their relations, all that shall be in your lands; let them be to you for a possession. ⁴⁶ And you shall distribute them to your children after you, and they shall be to you permanent possessions forever. But of your brothers the children of Israel, one shall not oppress his brother in labors.

⁹ Take heed to yourself, and keep your heart diligently: forget not any of the things, which your eyes have seen, and let them not depart from your heart all the days of your life; and you shall teach your sons and your sons' sons,

⁴⁰ And keep His commandments and His statutes, all that I command you this day; that it may be well with you, and with your sons after you, that you may be long-lived upon the earth, which the Lord your God is giving you forever.

¹⁶ Honor your father and your mother, as the Lord your God has commanded you; that it may be well with you, and that you may live long upon the land, which the Lord your God gives you.

³ Therefore hear, O Israel, and observe to do them, that it may be well with you, and that you may be greatly multiplied, as the Lord God of your fathers said that He would give you a land flowing with milk and honey. And these are the statutes and the judgments, which the Lord commanded the children of Israel in the wilderness, when they had gone forth from the land of Egypt.

⁷ And you shall teach them to your children, and you shall speak of them sitting in the house, and walking by the way, and lying down, and rising up.

¹⁸ And you shall do that which is pleasing and good before the Lord your God, that it may be well with you, and that you may go in and inherit the good land, which the Lord swore to your fathers,

²⁰ And it shall come to pass, when your son shall ask you at a future time, saying, What are the testimonies, and the statutes, and the judgments, which the Lord our God has commanded us? ²¹ Then shall you say to your son, We were slaves to Pharaoh in the land of Egypt, and the Lord brought us forth from there with a mighty hand, and with an outstretched arm. ²² And the Lord did great signs and wonders in Egypt, on Pharaoh and on his house before us. ²³ And He brought us out from there to give us this land, which He swore to give to our fathers. ²⁴ And the Lord commanded us to observe all these ordinances; to fear the Lord our God, that it may be well with us forever, that we may live, as it is this day.

¹⁷ For the Lord your God, He is the God of gods and the Lord of lords, the great and mighty; the awesome God, who is no respector of persons, nor will He by any means accept a bribe;

¹⁹ And you shall teach them to your children, so as to speak about them when you sit in the house, and when you walk by the way, and when you sleep, and when you rise up. ²⁰ And you shall write them on the doorposts of your houses, and on your gates; ²¹ that your days may be long, and the days of your children, upon the land which the Lord swore to your fathers to give to them, as the days of heaven upon the earth.

²⁵ You shall not eat it, that it may be well with you and with your sons after you, if you shall do that which is good and pleasing before the Lord your God.

²⁸ Beware and hearken, and you shall do all the commands which I charge you, that it may be well with you and with your sons forever, if you shall do that which is pleasing and good before the Lord your God.

¹¹ For the poor shall not fail off your land, therefore I charge you to do this thing, saying, You shall surely open your hands to your poor brother, and to him that is distressed upon your land. ¹² And if your brother or sister, a Hebrew man or a Hebrew woman, are sold to you, he shall serve you six years, and in the seventh year you shall send him out free from you. ¹³ And when you shall send him out free from you, you shall not send him out empty. ¹⁴ You shall give him provision for the way from your flock, and from your grain, and from your wine; as the Lord your God has blessed you, so you shall give to him. ¹⁵ And you shall remember that you also were a slave in the land of Egypt, and the Lord your God redeemed you from there; therefore I charge you to do this thing. ¹⁶ And if he should say to you, I will not go out from you, because he continues to love you and your house, because he is well with you;

³ Hear, O Israel; you are going this day to battle against your enemies: let not your heart faint; fear not, neither be confounded, neither turn aside from their face. ⁴ For it is the Lord your God who advances with you, to fight with you against your enemies, and to save you.

¹⁸ And if any man has a disobedient and contentious son, who hearkens not to the voice of his father and the voice of his mother, and they should correct him, and he should not hearken to them;

⁷ You shall by all means let the mother go, but you shall take the young to yourself; that it may be well with you, and that you may live long.

¹⁴ You shall not unjustly withhold the wages of the poor and needy of your brothers, or of the strangers who are in your cities. ¹⁵ You shall pay him his wages the same day, the sun shall not go down upon it, because he is poor and he trusts in it; and he shall cry against you to the Lord, and it shall be sin to you.

¹⁶ Cursed is the man that dishonors his father or his mother. And all the people shall say, So be it.

²³ And he charged Joshua, and said, Be courageous and strong, for you shall bring the sons of Israel into the land, which the Lord swore to them, and He shall be with you.

²⁵ His sandal shall be iron and brass; as your days be, so shall be your strength.

⁶ Be strong and of good courage, for you shall divide the land to this people, which I swore to give to your fathers. ⁷ Be strong, therefore, and very courageous, to observe and do as Moses My servant commanded you; and you shall not turn from there to the right hand or to the left, that you may be wise in whatsoever you may do.

⁹ Behold, I have commanded you; be strong and courageous, be not cowardly nor fearful, for the Lord your God is with you in all places in which you go.

⁶ that these may be to you continually for an appointed sign, that when your son asks you in the future, saying, What are these stones to us? ⁷ then you may explain to your son, saying, The River Jordan was dried up from before the ark of the covenant of the Lord of the whole earth, when it crossed over; and these stones shall be for a memorial for you for the children of Israel forever.

²¹ saying, When your sons ask you, saying, What are these stones? ²² Tell your sons, that Israel went over this Jordan River on dry land, ²³ when the Lord our God had dried up the water of the Jordan from before them, until they had passed over; as the Lord our God did to the Red Sea, which the Lord our God dried up from before us, until we passed over. ²⁴ That all the nations of the earth might know, that the power of the Lord is mighty, and that you might worship the Lord our God in every work.

¹⁴ And now fear the Lord, and serve Him in righteousness and justice; and remove the strange gods, which our fathers served beyond the river, and in Egypt; and serve the Lord. ¹⁵ But if it seem not good to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods of your fathers that were on the other side of the river, or the gods of the Amorites, among whom you dwell upon their land. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord, for He is holy.

³⁰ And Saul was exceedingly angry with Jonathan, and said to him, You son of a traitorous woman! For do I not know that you are an accomplice with the son of Jesse to yourself, and to the shame of your mother's nakedness? ³¹ For as long as the son of Jesse lives upon the earth, your kingdom shall not be established: now then send and take the young man, for he shall surely die! ³² And Jonathan answered Saul, Why is he to die? What has he done? ³³ And Saul lifted up his spear against Jonathan to kill him, so Jonathan knew that this evil was determined on by his father to kill David. ³⁴ And Jonathan sprang up from the table in great anger, and did not eat bread on the second day of the month, for he grieved bitterly for David, because his father determined to do evil against him.

¹⁶ And Jonathan son of Saul arose, and went to David to Caene, and strengthened his hands in the Lord.

⁶ And thus you shall say, May you and your house seasonably prosper, and all yours be in prosperity.

² And David said, I will show mercy to Hanun the son of Nahash, as his father dealt mercifully with me. And David sent to comfort him concerning his father by the hand of his servants; and the servants of David came into the land of the children of Ammon. ³ And the princes of the children of Ammon said to Hanun their lord, Is it to honor your father before you that David has sent comforters to you? Has not David rather sent his servants to you that they should search the city, and spy it out and examine it? ⁴ And Hanun took the servants of David, and shaved their beards, and cut off their garments in the midst as far as their haunches, and sent them away. ⁵ And they brought David word concerning the men; and he sent to meet them, for the men were greatly dishonored. ⁵² And let Your eyes and Your ears be opened to the supplication of Your servant, and to the supplication of Your people Israel, to hearken to them in all things for which they shall call upon You,

⁵⁴ And it came to pass when Solomon had finished praying to the Lord all this prayer and supplication, that he rose up from before the altar of the Lord, after having knelt upon his knees, and his hands were spread out towards heaven.

⁵⁹ And let these words, which I have prayed before the Lord our God, be near to the Lord our God day and night, to maintain the cause of Your servant, and the cause of Your people Israel forever,

³ And the Lord said to him, I have heard the voice of your prayer, and your supplication which you have made before Me. I have done for you according to all your prayer; I have hallowed this house which you have built to put My name there forever, and My eyes and My heart shall be there always.

² And the Syrians went forth in small bands, and took captive out of the land of Israel a young girl; and she waited on Naaman's wife. ³ And she said to her mistress, O that my lord were before the prophet of God in Samaria; then he would heal him from his leprosy.

¹³ And his servants came near and said to him, Suppose the prophet had spoken a great thing to you, would you not perform it? Yet he has but said to you, Wash, and be cleansed.

¹⁰ He shall build a house to My name; and he shall be a son to Me, and I will be a Father to him; and I will establish the throne of his kingdom in Israel forever. ¹¹ And now, my son, the Lord shall be with you, and prosper you; and you shall build a house to the Lord your God, as He spoke concerning you. ¹² Only may the Lord give you wisdom and prudence, and strengthen you over Israel, both to keep and to do the law of the Lord your God. ¹³ Then will He prosper you, if you take heed to do the commandments and judgments which the Lord commanded Moses for Israel; be courageous and strong; fear not, nor be terrified.

⁹ And now, my son Solomon, know the God of your fathers, and serve Him with a perfect heart and a willing soul; for the Lord searches all hearts, and knows every thought: if you seek Him, He will be found by you; but if you should forsake Him, He will forsake you forever. ¹⁰ See now, for the Lord has chosen you to build Him a house for a sanctuary; be strong and do it.

¹⁷ And I know, O Lord, that You are He that searches the hearts, and You love righteousness. I have willingly offered all these things in simplicity of heart. And now I have seen with joy Your people, who are present here, willingly offering to You.

¹⁹ And to Solomon my son give a good heart, to perform Your commandments, and to observe Your testimonies, and Your ordinances, and to accomplish the building of Your house.

⁷ But be strong, and let not your hands be weakened, for there is a reward for your work.

⁵ And now our flesh is as the flesh of our brothers, our children are as their children. Yet behold, we are reducing our sons and our daughters to slavery, and some of our daughters are enslaved; and there is no power of our hands, for our fields and our vineyards belong to the nobles.

⁸ and I said to them, We of our free will have redeemed our brothers the Jews that were sold to the Gentiles; and do you sell your brothers? And shall they be delivered to us? And they were silent, and found no answer. ⁹ And I said, The thing which you do is not good; you will not so walk in the fear of our God because of the reproach of the Gentiles our enemies.

²⁷ Even then a man shall blame himself, saying, What kind of things have I done? And He has not punished me according to the full amount of my sins.

¹ For the end, A Song of David among the Psalms. When I called upon Him, the God of my righteousness heard me; You have made room for me in tribulation; pity me, and hearken to my prayer.

⁹ The Lord has hearkened to my petition; the Lord has accepted my prayer.

⁸ The ordinances of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the Lord is bright, enlightening the eyes.

³ They shall be afraid, but I will trust in You. ⁴ In God (I will praise His word); all the day long have I hoped in God; I will not fear; what shall man do to me?

¹⁰ In God, (I will praise His word); in the Lord (I will praise His word). ¹¹ I have hoped in God; I will not be afraid; what shall man do to me?

¹⁷ O God, You have taught me from my youth, and until now will I declare Your wonders; ¹⁸ even until I am old and advanced in years. O God, forsake me not; until I have declared Your mighty arm to all the generation that is to come;

⁴ They were not hid from their children to a second generation; the fathers declaring the praises of the Lord, and His mighty acts, and His wonders which He has done. ⁵ And He raised up a testimony in Jacob, and appointed a law in Israel, which He commanded our fathers, to make it known to their children; ⁶ that another generation might know, even the sons which should be born; and they should arise and declare them to their children. ⁷ That they might set their hope on God, and not forget the works of God, but diligently seek His commandments.

¹¹ Guide me, O Lord, in Your way, and I will walk in Your truth; let my heart rejoice, that I may fear Your name.

⁷⁵ I know, O Lord, that Your judgments are righteousness, and that You in truthfulness have afflicted me.

¹²⁸ Therefore I directed myself according to all Your commandments; I have hated every unjust way.

⁴ Sharpened weapons of the mighty, with coals of the desert.

⁶ Pray now for the peace of Jerusalem: and let there be prosperity to them that love you. ⁷ Let peace, I pray, be within your host, and prosperity in your palaces. ⁸ For the sake of my brethren and my neighbors, I have indeed spoken peace concerning you. ⁹ Because of the house of the Lord our God, I have diligently sought your good.

² Behold, as the eyes of servants are directed to the hands of their masters, and as the eyes of a maidservant to the hands of her mistress; so our eyes are directed to the Lord our God, until He has mercy upon us.

¹ A Song of Degrees. Blessed are all they that fear the Lord; who walk in His ways. ² You shall eat the labors of your hands. Blessed are you, and it shall be well with you.

³ In whatsoever day I shall call upon You, hear me speedily; You shall abundantly provide me with Your power in my soul.

¹² I know that the Lord will maintain the cause of the poor, and the right of the needy ones.

⁸ Hear, my son, the instruction of your father, and reject not the rules of your mother.

¹ Hear, my children, the instruction of a father, and give attention to know understanding. ² For I give you a good gift; forsake not my law. ³ For I also was a son obedient to my father, and loved in the sight of my mother: ⁴ who spoke and instructed me, saying, Let our speech be fixed in your heart, keep our commandments, forget them not:

²⁰ My son, keep the laws of your father, and do not reject the ordinances of your mother:

¹⁸ An ungodly man performs unrighteous works, but the seed of the righteous is a reward of truth.

¹⁷ A rash king shall fall into mischief, but a wise messenger shall deliver him.

¹⁰ The name of the Lord is of great strength; and the righteous running to it are exalted.

¹⁸ Chasten your son, for so he shall be hopeful; and be not exalted in your soul to haughtiness.

²⁰ The lamp of him that reviles father or mother shall be put out, and his eyes shall see darkness.

¹⁵ Folly is attached to the heart of a child, but the rod and instruction are then far from him.

¹³ Refrain not from chastening a child, for if you beat him with the rod, he shall not die. ¹⁴ For you shall beat him with the rod, and shall deliver his soul from death.

¹⁸ For if you should keep these things, you shall have posterity; and your hope shall not be removed.

²² Listen, my son, to your father which begot you, and despise not your mother because she has grown old.

¹⁵ Stripes and reproofs give wisdom, but an erring child disgraces his parents.

¹⁷ Chasten your son, and he shall give you rest, and he shall give honor to your soul.

¹¹ A wicked generation curse their father, and do not bless their mother.

¹⁷ The eye that laughs to scorn a father, and dishonors the old age of a mother, let the ravens of the valleys pick it out, and let the young eagles devour it.

⁸ If you should see the oppression of the poor, and the wresting of judgment and of justice in the land, wonder not at the matter; for there is a high one to watch over him that is high, and high ones over them.

¹ And remember your Creator in the days of your youth, before the days of evil come, and the years overtake you in which you shall say, I have no pleasure in them.

¹ Your steps are beautiful in shoes, O daughter of the prince: the joints of your thighs are like chains, the work of the craftsman.

¹⁰ Woe to their soul, for they have devised an evil counsel against themselves, saying against themselves, Let us bind the just, for he is burdensome to us; therefore shall they eat the fruits of their works. ¹¹ Woe to the transgressor! Evils shall happen to him according to the works of his hands.

⁵ And He shall have His loins girded with righteousness, and His sides clothed with truth.

¹⁶ Lord, in affliction I remembered You; Your chastening was to us with small affliction.

⁷ Behold now, these shall be terrified with fear of you; those whom you feared shall cry out because of you; messengers shall be sent, bitterly weeping, entreating for peace.

³ Be strong, you relaxed hands and feeble knees. ⁴ Comfort one another, you fainthearted; be strong, fear not; behold, our God renders judgment, and He will render it; He will come and save us.

¹⁹ The living shall bless You, as I also do; for from this day shall I beget children, who shall declare Your righteousness,

²⁸ And now, have you not known? Have you not heard? The eternal God, the God that formed the ends of the earth, shall not hunger, nor be weary, and there is no searching of His understanding.

³¹ but they that wait on God shall renew their strength; they shall put forth new feathers like eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; they shall walk, and not faint.

⁶ I have been provoked with My people; you have defiled My inheritance; I gave them into your hand, but you did not extend mercy to them; you made the yoke of the aged man very heavy,

² and He has made my mouth as a sharp sword, and He has hid me under the shadow of His hand; He has made me as a choice shaft, and He has hid me in His quiver;

⁷ as a season of beauty upon the mountains, as the feet of one preaching glad tidings of peace, as one preaching good news; for I will proclaim your salvation, saying, O Zion, your God shall reign.

¹ Cry aloud, and spare not; lift up your voice as with a trumpet, and declare to My people their sins, and to the house of Jacob their iniquities.

³ saying, Why have we fasted, and You did not see? Why have we afflicted our souls, and You did not know it? Nay, in the days of your fasts you find your pleasures, and all them that are under your power you wound. ⁴ If you fast for quarrels and strife, and strike the lowly with your fists, why do you fast to Me as you do this day, so that your voice may be heard in crying? ⁵ I have not chosen this fast, nor such a day for a man to afflict his soul; although you should bend down your neck as a ring, and spread under you sackcloth and ashes, neither thus shall you call a fast acceptable. ⁶ I have not chosen such a fast, says the Lord; but do you loose every burden of iniquity, do you untie the knots of hard bargains, set the bruised free, and cancel every unjust account?

¹⁷ And He put on righteousness as a breastplate, and placed the helmet of salvation on His head; and He clothed himself with the garment of vengeance, and with His cloak,

⁷ And the Lord said to me, Say not, I am a child; for you shall go to all to whomsoever I shall send you, and according to all the words that I shall command you, you shall speak. ⁸ Be not afraid before them; for I am with you, to deliver you, says the Lord.

¹⁷ Gird up your loins, and stand up, and speak all the words that I shall command you. Be not afraid of their face, neither be alarmed before them; for I am with you, to deliver you, says the Lord.

¹⁰ And for all these things faithless Judah turned not to Me with all her heart, but falsely.

⁷ And I will give them a heart to know Me, that I am the Lord: and they shall be to Me a people, and I will be to them a God: for they shall turn to Me with all their heart.

¹⁴ The sons of Jonadab the son of Rechab have kept the word which he commanded his children, that they should drink no wine; and they have not drunk; but I spoke to you early, and you would not listen.

¹⁸ Therefore thus says the Lord: Since the sons of Jonadab the son of Rechab have hearkened to the command of their father, to do as their father commanded them;

⁶ And whether it be good, or whether it be evil, we will hearken to the voice of the Lord our God, to whom we send you; that it may be well with us, because we shall hearken to the voice of the Lord our God.

⁴ And you shall say to them, Thus says the Lord. ⁵ Whether then indeed they shall hear or fear (for they are a provoking house,) yet they shall know that you are a prophet in the midst of them. ⁶ And you, son of man, fear them not, nor be dismayed at their face (for they will madden and will rise up against you round about, and you dwell in the midst of scorpions), be not afraid of their words, nor be dismayed at their countenance, for they are a provoking house. ⁷ And you shall speak My words to them, whether they will hear or fear; for they are a provoking house.

⁷ In you they have reviled father and mother; and in you they have behaved unjustly toward the stranger; they have oppressed the orphan and widow.

⁶ And whosoever shall not fall down and worship, in the same hour he shall be cast into the burning fiery furnace.

¹⁵ Now then, if you are ready, whenever you shall hear the sound of the trumpet, pipe, harp, sackbut, psaltery, harmony, and every kind of music, to fall down and worship the golden image which I have made, fine; but if you will not worship, in the same hour you shall be cast into the burning fiery furnace; and who is the God that shall deliver you out of my hand?

¹⁹ And by reason of the majesty which He gave to him, all nations, tribes, and languages trembled and feared before him. Whomever he wished, he executed; whomever he wished, he exalted; and whomever he wished, he abased. ²⁰ But when his heart was lifted up, and his spirit was emboldened to act proudly, he was deposed from his royal throne, and his honor was taken from him.

¹⁰ And when Daniel knew that the decree was ordered, he went into his house. And his windows were opened in his chambers toward Jerusalem, and three times in the day he knelt upon his knees, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as he used to do before.

²⁰ And while I was yet speaking, and praying, and confessing my sins and the sins of my people Israel, and bringing my pitiful case before the Lord my God concerning the holy mountain;

⁵ Therefore have I mown down your prophets; I have slain them with the word of My mouth; and My judgment shall go forth as the light.

⁴ And he prevailed with the Angel and was strong. They wept, and entreated Me: they found Me in the house of On, and there a word was spoken to them.

⁹ Who is wise, and will understand these things? Or prudent, and will know them? For the ways of the Lord are straight, and the righteous shall walk in them; but the ungodly shall fall therein.

³ You who are approaching the evil day, who are drawing near and adopting false sabbaths;

⁴ Hear now this, you that oppress the poor in the morning, and drive the needy ones by tyranny from the earth, ⁵ saying, When will the month pass away, and we shall sell, and the sabbath, and we shall open the treasure, to make the measure small, and to enlarge the weight, and make the balance unfair? ⁶ That we may buy the poor for silver, and the needy for shoes; and we will trade in every kind of fruit. ⁷ The Lord swears against the pride of Jacob, None of your works shall ever be forgotten.

¹⁹ The Lord God is my strength, and He will perfectly strengthen my feet; He mounts me upon high places, that I may conquer by His song.

^{4 (2:5)} Yet now be strong, O Zerubbabel, says the Lord; and strengthen yourself, O Joshua the high priest, the son of Jehozadak; and let all the people of the land strengthen themselves, says the Lord, and work, for I am with you, say the Lord Almighty;

⁹ Thus says the Lord Almighty; Let your hands be strong, you that hear in these days these words out of the mouth of the prophets, from the day that the house of the Lord Almighty was founded, and from the time that the temple was built.

¹³ And it shall come to pass, as you were a curse among the nations, O house of Judah, and house of Israel; so will I save you, and you shall be a blessing: be of good courage, and strengthen your hands.

¹⁰ And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the Spirit of grace and compassion: and they shall look upon Me, because they have mocked Me, and they shall make lamentation for Him, as for a beloved friend, and they shall grieve intensely, as for a firstborn son.

⁶ A son honors his father, and a servant his master: if then I am a Father, where is My honor? And if I am a Master, where is My fear? Says the Lord Almighty. You the priests are they that despise My name: yet you said, In what way have we despised Your name?

² And who will abide the day of His coming? Or who will withstand at His appearing? For He is coming in as the fire of a furnace and as the herb of fullers.

⁵ And I will draw near to you in judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the witches, and against the adulteresses, and against them that swear falsely by My name, and against them that keep back the hireling's wages, and them that oppress the widow, and afflict orphans, and that wrest the judgment of the stranger, and do not fear Me, says the Lord Almighty.

⁴ But He answered and said, "It is written, 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.' "

⁷ Jesus said to him, "Again, it is written, 'You shall not tempt the LORD your God.' "

¹⁰ Then Jesus said to him, "Get behind Me, Satan! For it is written, 'You shall worship the LORD your God, and Him alone you shall serve.' " ¹¹ Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and ministered to Him.

¹² Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

¹ "Take care not to be doing your charitable giving before men, so as to be seen by them. Otherwise, you have not a reward from your Father in heaven.

⁴ so that your charitable giving may be in secret; and your Father, who sees in secret, will Himself reward you openly.

¹³ And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

²² "The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is sound, your whole body will be full of light.

²⁴ "No one is able to serve two masters; for either he will hate the one, and he will love the other, or else he will be devoted to the one, and he will despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.

¹² Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, thus also you do to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.

²¹ "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven.

⁹ For I also am a man under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to this one, 'Go,' and he goes; and to another, 'Come,' and he comes; and to my servant, 'Do this,' and he does it."

²⁷ "What I say to you in the dark, say in the light; and what you hear in the ear, proclaim on the housetops. ²⁸ And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both the soul and the body in hell.

⁴¹ He that receives a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet's reward. And he that receives a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man's reward. ⁴² And whoever gives one of these little ones only a cup of cold water in the name of a disciple, assuredly I say to you, he shall by no means lose his reward."

⁵⁰ For whoever does the will of My Father in heaven, he is My brother and sister and mother."

⁴ For God commanded, saying, 'Honor your father and your mother'; and, 'He who curses father or mother, with death let him die.' ⁵ But you say, 'Whoever says to his father or mother, "It is a gift to God, whatever profit you might have received from me"-- ⁶ then by no means should he honor his father or mother.' Thus you have nullified the commandment of God on account of your tradition.

²⁵ Then she came and worshipped Him, saying, "Lord, help me!" ²⁶ But He answered and said, "It is not good to take the children's bread and to throw it to the little dogs." ²⁷ But she said, "Yes, Lord, for even the little dogs eat from the crumbs falling from their masters' table." ²⁸ Then Jesus answered and said to her, "O woman, great is your faith! Let it be to you as you desire." And her daughter was healed from that very hour.

¹⁷ Jesus answered and said to him, "Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, because flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but My Father who is in heaven.

²⁷ For the Son of Man is going to come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will render to each according to his works.

⁸ Then he said to his servants, 'The wedding indeed is ready, but those who were invited were not worthy.

¹⁰ "So those servants went out into the highways and gathered together all whom they found, both bad and good. And the wedding hall was filled with guests.

³⁷ Jesus said to him, " 'You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.'

⁴⁸ But if that evil servant should say in his heart, 'My master is delaying to come,'

⁵¹ and he will cut him in two, and will appoint his share with the hypocrites. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

⁴¹ Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. Indeed the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak."

²⁰ teaching them to observe everything that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen.

⁹ And He said to them, "Well do you set aside the commandment of God, so that you may keep your tradition. ¹⁰ For Moses said, 'Honor your father and your mother'; and, 'Whoever speaks evil of father or mother, let him surely die.' ¹¹ But you say, 'If a man says to his father or to his mother, "Whatever you might be profited by me is Corban"--' (that is, a gift), ¹² then you no longer allow him to do anything for his father or for his mother, ¹³ thus nullifying the word of God by your tradition which you have handed down. And many similar things you do."

²² For false christs and false prophets will arise, and they will give signs and wonders in order to lead astray, if possible, even the elect.

³³ Take heed, stay awake and pray; for you do not know when the time is.

³⁸ Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. Indeed the spirit is eager, but the flesh is weak."

⁵¹ Then He went down with them and came to Nazareth, and was subject to them. And His mother kept all these things in her heart.

²⁶ the son of Maath, the son of Mattathiah, the son of Semei, the son of Joseph, the son of Judah,

³⁷ the son of Methuselah, the son of Enoch, the son of Jared, the son of Mahalalel, the son of Cainan,

³¹ And just as you want men to do to you, you also do to them likewise.

³⁵ But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping to receive nothing back; and your reward shall be great, and you will be sons of the Most High. For He is kind to the unthankful and evil.

¹³ But those on the rock are they that, whenever they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, who believe for a while and in time of testing fall away.

⁵ And He said to them, "Which of you shall have a friend, and go to him at midnight and say to him, 'Friend, lend me three loaves; ⁶ for a friend has come to me on his journey, and I have nothing to set before him'; ⁷ and he will answer from within and say, 'Do not trouble me; the door has already been shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot get up and give to you'? ⁸ I say to you, even if he will not get up and give to him, because he is his friend, yet on account of his persistence he will get up and give him as much as he needs.

³⁵ "Let your waist be girded and your lamps burning;

⁴⁵ But if that servant says in his heart, 'My master is delaying his coming,' and begins to beat the male and female servants, and to eat and drink and be drunk, ⁴⁶ the master of that servant will come on a day which he does not expect, and at an hour which he does not know, and he will cut him in two and appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.

²⁴ Strive to enter through the narrow gate, because many, I say to you, will seek to enter and will not be able.

¹⁴ and you will be blessed, because they do not have anything to repay you; for it will be repaid to you in the resurrection of the just."

²⁹ Lest perhaps after he has laid a foundation, and is not able to finish, all those who see it begin to mock him, ³⁰ saying, 'This man began to build and was not able to finish.' ³¹ Or what king, going to engage another king in battle, does not sit down first and consider whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him who comes against him with twenty thousand?

²² But the father said to his servants, 'Bring out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet.

¹ Then He spoke a parable to them, that one must always pray and not lose heart, ² saying: "A certain judge was in a certain city, who did not fear God nor have regard for men. ³ Now there was a widow in that city; and she kept coming to him, saying, 'Give justice to me against my adversary.' ⁴ And he did not want to for a time; but afterward he said within himself, 'although I do not fear God, nor have regard for man, ⁵ yet because this widow bothers me I will give justice to her, lest she wear me out by forever coming to me.' " ⁶ Then the Lord said, "Hear what the unjust judge said. ⁷ And God, shall He not execute justice for His own elect, who cry out day and night to Him, and yet He is patient with them? ⁸ I tell you that He will execute justice for them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?"

³⁶ Watch therefore, praying always that you may be counted worthy to escape everything that is about to happen, and to stand before the Son of Man."

⁴⁶ Then He said to them, "Why do you sleep? Rise up and pray, lest you enter into temptation."

⁵³ When I was with you daily in the temple, you did not try to seize Me. But this is your hour, and the power of darkness."

³¹ Now is the judgment of this world; now the ruler of this world shall be cast out.

¹³ You call me Teacher and Lord, and you say correctly, for so I am.

²⁷ Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

³⁰ I will no longer speak many things with you, for the ruler of the world is coming, and he has nothing in Me.

¹¹ of judgment, because the ruler of this world has been judged.

¹⁵ So when they had eaten breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me more than these?" He said to Him, "Yes, Lord; You know that I care for You." He said to him, "Feed My lambs." ¹⁶ He said to him again a second time, "Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?" He said to Him, "Yes, Lord; You know that I care for You." He said to him, "Shepherd My sheep." ¹⁷ He said to him the third time, "Simon, son of Jonah, do you care for Me?" Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, "Do you care for Me?" And he said to Him, "Lord, You know all things; You know that I care for You." Jesus said to him, "Feed My sheep.

¹⁴ These were continuing with one mind in prayer and petition, together with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers.

⁴ And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak in different languages, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

⁴⁶ So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they were sharing food with joy and simplicity of heart,

¹³ Now when they observed the boldness of Peter and John, and understood that they were uneducated and untrained men, they marveled. And they recognized that they had been with Jesus.

²⁹ Now, Lord, look upon their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word,

³¹ And when they had prayed, the place where they were gathered was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.

²⁹ But Peter and the apostles answered, and said: "We must obey God rather than men.

⁴ But we will faithfully engage in prayer and in the ministry of the word."

²⁷ But Barnabas, taking hold of him, brought him to the apostles, and related to them how he had seen the Lord on the way, and that He had spoken to him, and how in Damascus he spoke boldly in the name of Jesus.

²⁹ and speaking boldly in the name of the Lord Jesus, and he was speaking and disputing with the Greek-speaking Jews, but they were attempting to kill him.

² a devout man, and one that feared God, together with all his household, who often gave alms to the people, and making petition to God always.

⁷ Now when the angel who had been speaking to Cornelius had departed, he called two of his household servants and a devout soldier from among those who waited on him continually. ⁸ And explaining to them everything, he sent them to Joppa.

³⁴ And Peter, opening his mouth, said: "In truth I comprehend that God is not One to show partiality.

⁵ Therefore Peter was kept in prison; but earnest prayer was being made by the church to God on behalf of him.

⁴⁶ But Paul and Barnabas, speaking boldly said, "It was necessary for the word of God to be spoken to you first; but since you thrust it away, and judge yourselves not worthy of eternal life; behold, we turn to the Gentiles.

³ Therefore they spent a considerable time there, speaking boldly in the Lord, who was bearing witness to the word of His grace, giving signs and wonders to take place by their hands.

²⁶ And he began to speak boldly in the synagogue. And when Aquila and Priscilla heard him, they took him aside and explained to him the way of God more accurately.

⁸ And he entered into the synagogue and spoke boldly for three months, debating and persuading the things concerning the kingdom of God.

⁴ And Sopater, a Berean, was accompanying him to Asia--also Aristarchus of the Thessalonians, and Secundus, and Gaius of Derbe, and Timothy, and Tychicus and Trophimus, the Asians.

³³ And the commander, approaching, took hold of him, and ordered him to be bound with two chains; and he was inquiring who he might be and what he had done.

¹⁸ to open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light, and from the authority of Satan to God, in order for them to receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me.'

²⁹ And Paul said, "I would pray to God, both in a short time and a long time, not only you, but also all who are hearing me today, would become such as I am, except for these chains."

²⁰ Therefore for this reason I have requested you, to see and to speak to you, for because of the hope of Israel I am wearing this chain."

³¹ preaching the kingdom of God and teaching the things concerning the Lord Jesus Christ with all boldness, without hindrance.

⁷ To all those who are in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

⁶ who will recompense to each one according to his works: ⁷ to those who by the endurance of good works are seeking glory and honor and incorruption--eternal life. ⁸ But to those who are contentious, and who disobey the truth, but obey unrighteousness--indignation and wrath, ⁹ ~ tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that works evil, of the Jew first and also of the Greek; ¹⁰ but glory, honor, and peace to everyone that works good, both to the Jew first and to the Greek. ¹¹ For there is no partiality with God.

¹⁷ But thanks be to God, that though you used to be slaves of sin, yet you obeyed from your heart that form of doctrine to which you were delivered.

¹² Therefore the law indeed is holy, and the commandment holy and righteous and good.

¹⁵ For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again unto fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, "Abba, Father."

²⁶ Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with inexpressible groanings. ²⁷ But He that searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He intercedes on behalf of the saints according to the will of God.

³⁸ For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come,

¹⁵ And how shall they preach unless they are sent? Just as it is written: "How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, of those preaching the gospel of good things!"

² And do not fashion yourselves after this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and well pleasing and perfect will of God.

¹² rejoicing in hope, enduring in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer;

⁷ Render therefore to all their dues: taxes to whom taxes are due, customs to whom customs, fear to whom fear, honor to whom honor.

¹² The night is advanced, the day is at hand. Therefore let us put off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light.

¹⁴ But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, for its lusts.

³⁰ Now I beg you, brothers, through the Lord Jesus Christ, and through the love of the Spirit, to strive together with me in prayers to God on my behalf,

² so that you may receive her in the Lord in a manner worthy of the saints, and you may stand by her in whatever thing she may need from you; for indeed she has proved to be a helper of many and of myself also.

² to the church of God which is at Corinth, to those who have been sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all those who in every place are calling on the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours: ³ Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

⁵ that in everything you were enriched by Him in all utterance and all knowledge,

³ And I was with you in weakness, in fear, and in much trembling.

⁷ But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the wisdom having been hidden, which God foreordained before the ages for our glory,

¹ Let a man so consider us, as ministers of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God.

¹⁷ Because of this I sent Timothy to you, who is my beloved and faithful child in the Lord, who will remind you of my ways in Christ, as I teach everywhere in every church.

²² For he who is called in the Lord while a slave is the Lord's free man. Likewise he who is called as a free man is Christ's slave.

²⁵ And everyone who competes exercises self-control in all things. Now they compete in order that they may receive a perishable crown, but we compete for an imperishable crown. ²⁶ Therefore I run thus: not as without a goal, thus I box: not as one beating the air. ²⁷ But I treat my body roughly, and I bring it into subjection, lest, having preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.

¹³ No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not permit you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation, He will also make the way out, so as for you to be able to bear it.

³¹ Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all things for the glory of God.

⁵⁰ Now this I say, brothers, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor can corruption inherit incorruption.

⁵⁸ So then, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

¹³ Watch, stand fast in the faith, be courageous, be strong.

²² If anyone does not love the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be Anathema. Marana tha! ²³ The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

¹¹ you also laboring together for us in prayer, that thanks may be given by many persons on your behalf for the gift given to us through many. ¹² For our boasting is this: the testimony of our conscience, that we have conducted ourselves in the world in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom but by the grace of God, and especially toward you.

²⁴ Not that we lord it over your faith, but are fellow workers for your joy; for by faith you stand.

¹¹ lest we be taken advantage of by Satan; for we are not ignorant of his devices.

¹² Therefore, having such hope, we use great boldness of speech--

⁴ among whom the god of this age has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, so that the illumination of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should not shine on them.

¹⁶ Therefore we do not despair, but even if our outward man is being destroyed, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. ¹⁷ For our momentary light affliction is working out for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, ¹⁸ while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are for a season, but the things which are not seen last forever.

¹⁰ For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, in accordance with the things which he did, whether good or bad.

¹⁸ And all things are of God, who reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and who gave to us the ministry of this reconciliation, ¹⁹ that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not reckoning their transgressions to them, and committing to us the word of this reconciliation. ²⁰ Now then, we serve as ambassadors for Christ, as though God were appealing through us: we implore you on Christ's behalf, be reconciled to God.

⁹ And the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

¹¹ Then I saw another beast coming up out of the earth, and he had two horns like a lamb and he spoke like a dragon. ¹² And he exercises all the authority of the first beast before him, and he causes the earth and those who dwell in it, to worship the first Beast, whose deadly wound was healed. ¹³ And he works great signs, so that he even makes fire come down from heaven on the earth before men. ¹⁴ And he deceives my own people who dwell on the earth by the signs which were given to him to do before the Beast, saying to those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who had the wound--and came to life! -from the sword. ¹⁵ And it was granted to him to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed.

¹⁵ And out of His mouth proceeds a sharp, double-edged sword, so that with it He might strike the nations. And He will shepherd them with an iron rod. And He treads the winepress of the wine of the wrath of Almighty God.

²⁰ Then the Beast was apprehended, and with him the False Prophet who had performed the signs before him, by which he had deceived those who received the mark of the Beast and those who worshipped his image. These two were thrown alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone.

² And he seized the dragon, that serpent of old, who is the Devil and Satan, he who deceives the whole world, and he bound him for a thousand years; ³ and he cast him into the bottomless pit, and locked and sealed it over him, so that he should deceive the nations no more until the thousand years were finished. But after these things he must be released for a short time.

⁷ Now after the thousand years, Satan will be released from his prison, ⁸ and he will come out to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to the war, whose number is like the sand of the sea.
